Reader Cup. Or something.

So, when I went to the school library today, the librarian asked me if I was interested in participating in this contest called Reader Cup (or something).
I was interested so I asked to join (first people that wants to join, joins, so I was lucky not much people wanna participate or not have heard of it before!) and so I joined.

The description of the thing what the librarian told me.

Around 5 from each school gets to participate.
It's around in this June.
W have to read 5 certain books and answer questions.
There might be more I have forgotten...

I'm not sure if you got enough information on this yet or not since it's been a few days, but I've been in something very similar to this several years ago, and although it's not the same thing, it might have the same concept.

It was called Battle of the Books, and what you said was basically it: you read a bunch of books, and then you answer a ton of questions. You're in a team (of five, in your case) and you go to this event where a bunch of old ladies (well...they were old ladies here...lol) look at you intently with a timer and notecards in hand.

They'll say, "In the book Blahblah..." then continue on with the question. You get a certain time to whisper the possible answers to your teammate, and then they'll call time and the leader has to answer the question.

They always, ALWAYS seem to ask a question about who's the author on what book. They also ask SUPER detailed questions. Like, I remember I was in there and I was asked, "What character dropped their pencil in the book Blahblah?" Like, what? What kind of tiny detail is this? They do ask insignificant stuff like that, so read your books carefully and don't wimp out on anything.

Read ALL the books. One year, I was the leader of the group and I was the only one who read a certain book. -_- It was a little frustrating, but I trudged through it.

Oh, oh I took part in Reader's Cup last year! (in Middle East, though)
We got 4 books and there were four people in a team (I was with LemonyIce and TwistedMuffins~) and we basically had to read the books and answer questions. The first round was a written quiz~ We split the books among ourselves (like one person, one book) but in the end all of us read all the books but knew the most about a certain book which in the end meant together, we knew a lot~ xD

What you should know is that they asked ridiculously detailed questions from random parts of the book. Like stuff you wouldn't normally pay attention to but should if you're taking part in the competition~ They can ask you anything ranging from what was the author's name to what tools were in the construction site which they passed while running from cops. You have to read the books carefully and remember quite a few details but it's loads of fun! You also get to read new books and meet new people (maybe) but I think you should try it out~ And if you do, tell me how it goes!
