The Book of Mary Sue (Started/Accepting limited)

You are a student at Lady Evulian McConnell's School for Misunderstood Youth, an exclusive high school and college. You're pretty special! To be selected, you must be extremely good in several disciplines, and have little or no particular weakness. You're probably very good-looking and might have unnatural eyes, hair, birthmarks, etc. And, e-v-e-r-y-body likes you. For the writers: a Mary Sue.

This school trains its students in everything from foreign languages, to fighting, to music, to hacking - anything a Mary Sue could possibly need. You name it, we got it. There are 5 dormitory houses: a boy's house and a girl's house for the high school students, (minimally supervised, of course), and a boy's, a girl's, and a mixed house for college students. There are facilities for everything a student could want, including cafeterias for eating and kitchens for baking. Sunny lawns, a walking trail through cool forests, and a picturesque pond complement the ancient red brick buildings. No matter where you go, you will meet a group of laughing students enjoying their home.

But the fabulous life has a dark side boiling just beneath the surface. Doom Monger, a power-hungry maniac and a graduate of Lady McConnell's, has an army of super-robots ready to attack through underground tunnels. The students and their teachers must fight off the robots and stop Doom Monger from taking over the world!

(I know I said you all have to be Mary Sues, but I lied. I'd like to have one - NO MORE THAN TWO - normal, "sensible" characters who think the Mary Sues are completely ridiculous and have no idea how they're so powerful.)

Name:Ms. Arwen Melodia Smytheford

Gender: F

Age: 32

Appearance: Arwen, or Ms. Smytheford as the students call her, has long, flowing purple hair and soft pink eyes. Her features are small and gentle, but there is a smoldering quality to them that men in the past have found very attractive. It helps that she's very slender and has curves in all the right places, of course.

She uses a long, thin sword, much like that used in the sport of fencing. Hers has a very special decorative handle.

Personality: Ms. Smytheford is kind and friendly. She's had her share of enemies, but they're often just jealous. Animals love her, and there have been several instances of her being caught up in a love triangle between two very hot boys. But, they've all fallen apart because she's just too perfect for them to handle. Of course she's far too modest to admit that, and always downplays her looks and abilities.

Strengths: Ms. Smytheford speaks six languages (English, French, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Hebrew). She teaches computer hacking, and fences as a hobby. She's also half decent at cooking, singing, and dancing.

Weaknesses: She is very self-concious about her eyes and hair, because her favourite colour is actually baby blue. She also can't play any instruments.

History: Not that she'd ever let anyone know this, but she never had parents. She half suspects she's a nymph, born of the trees. She was raised among the creatures of the forest, until eventually she decided it was time to go to her own kind. She found a town, and there used her natural talent for languages to work as a translator, and it all went up from there.
However, all the folks at Lady Evulian McConnell's School for Misunderstood Youth know is that she wandered up to their gates one day with her most faithful animal companion, looking for a job. They hired her right away, of course.

Up for love: Yay, although since she's a teacher it'd have to be one of the oldest students.

Other: Her most loyal animal friend from childhood still accompanies her everywhere. He's a cream-coloured rabbit named Charles.

Name: Reiko Luxia Snowe-Rose Spinx MacDarkeVhayne

Gender: (M/F) Female

Age: (13-25) 18

Appearance: She looks like the vocaloid Teto. I will attempt to show you a picture of her. Her weapon of choice: A sword-whip.

Personality: Selfish, overly dramatic, and rude but everybody back home understood it because they were so sympathetic of her past. She was voted ‘the most beautiful girl’ at her last school, was the prom queen, and was adored by everyone at her old school. Well, everyone except the losers who were obviously only jealous of her amazing-ness.

Strengths: Her ability to learn difficult skills in astonishing time. She plays four instruments, speaks six languages, and has magical fairy wings made of star dust that she can retract into her back with no scars or marks to indicate they were ever there. She can fly with those puny lil things.

Weaknesses: She’s self-conscious about her nails. She can never seem to paint them correctly! *Reiko swoons* it’s so hard to be so flawed.

History: It all started on a dark and stormy night when the SS Cliché set sail for Earth through the Space Ocean (this totally exists in her world). On this vessel stood two hooded figures, the smaller figure holding a baby with pink tufts of hair and dazzling ruby eyes that, although innocent, somehow reflected the sorrows of the universe *Reiko swoons again*.
“Oh, Larkina,” the larger figure whispered. “Our beautiful child. She is so precious.”
Then the larger figure held his wife (the smaller figure) closer, gazing at the sleeping little darling. And then...they were attacked. The ship was raided by Space Pirates and Reiko’s parents slaughtered. She was snatched off the ship and forced into slavery. Then she was somehow adopted by the slave owner, Zane, because she stole his heart at the age of seven. She was loved by Zane until the day he died (when she was 14) and she was left to the mercy of the Zane’s mean old wife who was always jealous of Zane’s affection for the child. *Reiko swoons once again as I resist kicking her in the ear*.
After Zane’s death they moved to Earth.
The wife would neglect poor Reiko and abuse her. It drove her crazy to see how well Reiko did in school. How was she so popular and making such awesome grades?! How dare she blossom into a beautiful young lady! In her own home! So she sent her to the School in hopes of getting a break.

Up for love: (Yay or nay?) Oh yes.

Other: If you say anything negative about dear Reiko here I, the author, will take it as an act of war. >:D Mwahahaha! Also, Reiko means beautiful. I wonder why! And there’s no real reason why she has wings or such a weird hair/eye color. She’s an alien and all but her species is very similar to the humans. So she’s actually too perfect for even her own race.

Name: Ms. Laneth Morifidia Jerriweather

Gender: Female

Age: 66

Appearance: Her hair is greying and her eyesight is diminishing. She doesn’t have to use glasses because she uses magic to correct her vision when she really needs to. Her wardrobe consists of grey dresses. She’s handy with a long bow despite the fact that she’s a frail old woman who would be otherwise too weak to even lift such a weapon.
She still somehow maintained her stunning good looks through the years.

Personality: Strict and mean, not many people are actually on her good side. Everything has to go her way or else. She runs her Spanish class like a dictator. She moved from school to school with no lip out of any of the students she taught. She will not tolerate insubordination (even though her idea of an insubordinate may be a tad off. Ex: continuously dropping a pen accidently constitutes an attempt to disrupt class.). She’s always jealous of the students’ youth, mourning the loss of her youthful beauty (which she thinks she lost).

Strengths: She speaks Spanish fluently, is super strong even though she has little to no muscle mass, and able to turn invisible.

Weaknesses: Birds scare her.

History: The magic came to her early. She said the words and things would happen. She thought nothing of it until one day her parents walking in on her turning invisible and freaked out. They had her locked up and eventually escaped, changing her name and started a life. She was a heart breaker in her early years; all the boys were practically kissing her feet. And everything came easy to her. She liked the Spanish culture and decided to travel to every Spanish speaking country in the world and finally became a teacher. She hopped around schools until landing in this one.

Up for love: (Yay or nay?) Nah.

Other: You decide whether or not your character takes her abuse or not. If your
character wants to jump up in class and get in her face, okay! If your character wants to sit there and just nod, as you wish!

Name: Kyo Silver

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Appearance:

blond hair that is always falling into his eyes. His bright blue eyes peak in between that hair that falls into his eyes. He likes to use a trident as a weapon.

Personality: He is sort of loud but not in a stuck up way. He was always popular at his old school but he never really enjoyed it. He has great convenience but he doesn't let that get the best of him. He will let his ego take over when he has a crush.

Strengths: Kyo is super strong and very athletic. He is able to stick to walls and ceilings with his hands, like spiderman. He is an amazing singer and a beautiful guitar player.

Weaknesses: His hair is almost always in his eyes so sometimes he has to spend extra time in the morning to brush it out.

History: When he was 17 he got in a car crash and lost his memory. He can't remember anything before the crash so he had to pretty much start his life completely over. His parents sent him to the school so he could have a fresh start and have a new life.


Up for love: Yup. Straight

Other: He has a small dog named Ponco. He is a golden retriever puppy that he found on the campus one day and is only 2 months old.

Sensible Character

Name: Kyle Iverson
Gender: M
Age: 16
Appearance: Kyle has light skin with freckles and dirty blonde hair. He's tall and awkward but very handsome.
Personality: Kyle is kind and understanding. He will try to befriend people even if he doesn't think it's worth it. He's shy though and is usually too embarrassed to speak his mind. His choice weapon is the sword or crossbow but he'd rather use his fists.
Strengths: He's a strong fighter and a strong visionary. He has a great imagination and loves to design/create/build different contraptions.
Weaknesses: He has a bad memory and cannot memorize anything from poetry to plans.
History: It was a mistake, it was all a mistake. There were two Kyles in the school, they were in the same class, and were very similar. Their grades got mixed up and Kyle Iverson ended up getting grades he did not earn at all. He got all A's when in reality he probably would have gotten all B's and C's. He thought the mistake was pretty cool until he got to the school and found out exactly how crazy the other people were.
Up for love: Yay but only if the other 'sensible' character is a girl.
Other: Kyle wears a necklace with a leaf trinket on it that his grandfather gave him. He never takes it off since it reminds him to be strong and believe in himself.

Oh, can I make a "sensible" character? (Am I the only one who'd find a Mary Sue to be horribly difficult? How do you do anything with them?)

Name: Leigh Tilson
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearance: She has skin of an olive tone with dark, almond-shaped eyes ans short, dark hair cut to about chin length. She's 4' 10' and not happy about it, tiny looking overall. She wears clothing that is loose but not baggy, easy to move in, and generally in a dark shade like maroon or navy with black. As for weapons, well, she's taken a liking to practicing as many forms of unarmed combat as she's had a chance to try, and has brought her dog through Schutzhund training, so he's a weapon in and of himself.
Personality: She's quiet and introverted, and annoyed at the Mary Sues for what they are. She's modest, but that's just because she believes she's worthless. After all, the mary sues can do everything, and it's just not fair. She's tired of being less, and a little depressed. She'll occasionally joke to cover her anger, like the name of her dog. She just wants to finally do something better than a mary sue, and knows she never will.
Strengths:An overachiever, pure and simple. Maybe that doesn't count for much in a school for mary sues, but Leigh's pushed hard enough trying and failing to keep up with these genii that if she met somebody from a normal school, she'd think them strangely limited in what they could do. Also, being small helps her be quick and agile in combat, and many non-mary sues underestimate her.
Weaknesses: One of the best weaknesses, I've found, is one that relates to your strengths. In a normal school, Leigh'd be completely fine, one of the students who were getting good grades because they tried so hard. But here...Leigh is depressed. She feels she isn't good enough, looking at all those Mary Sues who can do everything effortlessly. Also, being small means she has less strength in her chosen combat method.

Other: Her aging German Shepard, Samwise, or Sam for short, follows her around everywhere and is very well trained. (You do NOT want a dog who won't obey you with Schutzhund training, especially when you aren't a mary sue.) She also loves LOTR.
Since I mentioned Schutzhund training, I might as well explain it. Schutzhund is a German word meaning "protection dog". It refers to a sport that focuses on developing and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more useful and happier companions to their owners. Schutzhund work concentrates on three parts. Many are familiar with the obedience work of the American Kennel Club's affiliates and will recognize the first two parts, tracking and obedience. The Schutzhund standards for the third part, protection work, are similar to those for dogs in police work. It's also a method to select dogs for breeding, but Leigh didn't use it that way with Samwise. They also have to pass a tempermant test to be allowed to compete in the trial, and the entire process is very demanding. Schutzhund is also the display pf the German Shepard's best traits, mental and physical.

Name: Matilda "Matti" McCorister

Age: 19
Appearance:

She has beautiful pink hair, is tall and thin, usually wears bright colored skirts with striped leggings and flowered tank tops, her weapon is her blow dryer, she goes barefooted all the time no matter what, and usually wears enormous earrings.

Personality: Matti is really sweet and just loves to dress up. She'll sometimes change up to ten times in one day. Matti loves animals, especially cats, and is always trying to save them. No matter what, Matti always has an enormous smile on her face. She loves to make friends and talk to people and just very innocent, some people say dumb.
Strengths: Matti knows exactly what colors go together and will NEVER EVER clash. She also masters multiple languages and platform high heels.
Weaknesses: She cannot do a cartwheel and she believes it is her curse in life.
History: One day Matti woke up and told her parents she wanted to meet other kid like herself. She said that the kids at her college called her weird and absurd. Her parents were only to happy to find a place where she could fit in better so they found this school.
Up for love: Maybe...
Other: Like I said, Matti adores animals. You can win her over if you give her an animal and she can talk for hours about pets...

Ok! I'll make the first post in about 24 hours (give or take). Anybody who wishes to create a character should do so before then, although I'll probably leave it open for a little while after that.

age: 19
appearance: Sylvia is a petite girl with hazel eyes. She is sort of tall but kind of average height.
personality: Sylvia thinks she is all that, well she KNOWS it and surely it shows. She is never sad and rarely has boyfriends because she doesn't need one. All guys like her and they find her really hard to get. She loves attention and will do anything to have it.
strengths: she is good at manipulating people into doing what she wants them to. Also she is a good advice giver.
weaknesses: Sylvia sucks at volleyball and baseball
history: she was born into a good family. Everyone was drug free and treated her as if she was a princess. That is why she is a spoiled brat. She has had many friends throughout her life and they always told her how perfect she was.
up for love: if you can get into her cold heart.

Ms. Smytheford

The sun warmed Ms. Arwen Smytheford's flawless face as she crossed the courtyard. A breeze blew her purple hair away from her smooth cheeks, and lifted her skirt up around ivory ankles. Charlie hopped after her in hopeless devotion. The students of Lady Evulian McConnell's School for Misunderstood Youth were perfecting their many skills or keeping company with one another. Nobody was unhappy. But not everything was as lovely as it seemed.

Doom Monger, an alumnus of Lady McConnell's, had turned to evil. His army of super robots were marching to the school at that very moment, through the underground tunnels. Ms. Smytheford had been tasked with arranging a team of the school's best students to combat the robots.

Ms Smytheford approached Ms. Jerriweather, who was supervising a good-natured wrestling match, and pulled her aside. She told her of the dangerous predicament they were in, and then said, "Will you help me gather the team?"
