for your empty cookie jar

Don't worry,
when your world burns
cookies will sprout under the oven skies
like dandelion gun powder puffs.

Ginger snaps dance the jazz train,
snickerdoodle stew
disco nightmares
and little macadamien warriors
pound the drums in
ritualistic crunch caves.

The oreo will sandwich you
by the foot of the milk poppies' slumber,
but watch--
its flaky crumbles breed life rafts in the deep.

And if you were to trust a try
at my own invention: stuffed almond butter
creme cocoa bean,
poem chunk licorice
rice pellets and fizzy lemon
skins with runny beach flavored
salt chips, the goo of bacon meat...

it'll be enough to stomach for weeks.

scraps for hire, in the Trying to Catch up Series

9.
we're going to chop down trees
see the livid and the anger and the magic of the space
and the runner of the state
pony express send the mail and the news
to the farthest place at noon

---

10.

the sky breathes cracks into palms
harsh right?
but I've always believed you've hands of rubber
to erase all frownlines
caress the temples
and leave me bare

--

11.

feel the reveberations
and the strength of voice the shine of feelings
the world of throbbing
make want of knowing and becoming
jumping through hoops
never mind what comes
feel it in the grooves
and the pattern stitch and trap
come and see
the garden rose a compass shown
run into the field
sing a song of feels

it is contagious

--

12.

sometimes its in the weak
a muscle memory prompts me back
and radishes crack in the storm of frost
leaving plates empty and wanting but sometimes
it's not even the force of absence

or empty

hunger

I think it's because I feel inside
the full of the world and the vibrations of
throes

I don't need to be saved.

---
13.

the nightly wings and the feather hawks
daddy, you told me I was beautiful
but the candle wavers in the night

fingers claw across the glass
how can I ever fly with them
cower under sheets of fluff

--
14.

a tap dancing tune
snap the fingers, croon
rumage for the answers
fight until we make it

the world is a colorless view

I'm lifted in the dark

--
15.

Once upon a poetic evening
Meshugenah finds a bill of green
upon the lap of her cat's knees
a pur of contention

Scarlettfire chases cats
down alleyways and under cars
gets paid for hunting felines
in the dark

oh man, this poem needs to die
before Pengu comes to bite.

Medieval Lit! Come here to find out who Chaucer plagiarized and translated - and why and how it worked in the late 1300s.

December baked beans
and cattle farmlands all fit
in a tin can glazed with chill
and spiders January.

February carves letters in neat
handwritten loops for the times March
when April is ruthless.

Did you ever see the world keep count as we do,
June a tree ring for every drought and storm
July a wrinkle for every smile, for thoughts
August tresses of hair for all your worries come tangled in knots.

September and we ought to ride tigers again
like those valiant heroes of jungle dreams October
a stripe for every battle scar November.

I've since begun to pierce my ears and nose
a hole for every month we've spent alone.

17. Scrambled from the deleted parts of 16

did you ever see the world
keeping count as we do?

like the world circles with no place to go,
but we just want to keep something
from that minute ago

perhaps why we always believed in fates,
only nowadays we speak of it with softer ts

can it just be
coin
tossed incident
you died at thirtyfive
with thirtyfive freckles spread
'long your back?
