My name is Lottery. I am a regular member who has created a new account to go anonymous to propose a new project. I want to try and create a YWS Lottery. Please tell me whether you think the idea is good or horrible and if you would participate.
So the plan. Anyone who participates buys tickets by gifting points into this account. Tickets would be like 10 points a piece, 7 for 50 points. I would then laboriously write out each name, once for each ticket bought, on a piece of paper and put out them in a container. After a certain time period, a week or month, I would draw 7 names, 1 first place, 1 second place, 1 third place and 4 runner ups. The points collected from ticket sales will become the prize pool. The winners will share out all the points between them. Say, 1st gets 50%, 2nd gets 20%, 3rd gets 10% and each runner up gets 5%. And then it could start all over again.
