I stay close to her and zone out a bit, thinking about everything.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

"It's not a joke." I said.

I snap out of it and nod in agreement to her question, looking at one of my hands and wondering how any of this is possible.

"Well, far as I can tell you is, you almost died early in your life. And your mother, Aphrodite, made a deal with Eris to save you. The rest is up to you, to fill in." I said.

"So, my dad and my mother have been lying to me for twenty one years of my life and I am hearing about this from someone one I do not know?" I say. I shake me head and stand. I go to the doo and open it. "I am going to hear this from them." I walk out the door and leave it open.

I hesitate before walking out after her and taking her hand.

I smile and squeeze his hand, thanking him for coming with me. I knock on my parents door, waiting on them to answer.

I flash a smile back and squeeze her hand back, waiting with her.

They open the door and I take a deep breath. "Can I talk with both of you?" I ask.

Nodding they invite us both in. Chance and I sit on the love seat and I do not let go of his hand. "What do you want to talk to us about?" My father asks.

I sigh and try to smile. "A lot of things have just happened." I say, starting off. "Well, I was just told that I was a demigod and Aphrodite is my mother." I do not even beat around the bush. "So, is it ture?" I ask.

They both look at each other and then back at me. "Yes." They say.

I bit my bottom lip and nod. "Why am I just being told and why was I not told by you?" I ask, remaining calm.

My mom tears up and shakes her hand. "I was worried that if you knew you would not love me anymore. I wanted to be the only mom in your life." She said.

As she talks, my heart breaks a little. "Mom, I will always love you." I say. We continue to talk about everything. It turns out that I had Mitochondrial when I was a baby and that is why I became a Chaos Walker. I stand and thank them. Chance and I head back to our room. "Gosh this is a lot to take in." I say.

I nod and stop in front of my room before turning around and heading to my parents room. They don't answer right away, but I wait. If Katie's parents told her, mine had to tell me.

He pulls me along, not knowing it. His mind is set on what he wants and I can tell. I follow and wait for his parents to reply.

They open the door but I refuse to go in, "Why didn't you tell me? After my accident, why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?" my mother asks.

"That I'm some freakish demigod or something," I answer.

"Oh..." my father nods. "That..."

"We'd already lost you that year, Chance," my mother tells me. "We didn't want to lose you again."

I turn back around and head back to the room, not wanting to hear any of it anymore.

"Chance, look at me." I say. He turns around and I place my arms on his shoulders, looking into his eyes. "It is going to be okay." I say.
