I smile and kiss her back, closing my eyes.

````
Chase
I hesitate before standing as well.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up
I keep below him and a hand on the side of his face.
Jessa
I lead him to their house, humming.
I smile back and follow her movements before I hear the knock at the door.
I stay at her side, hoping this would work the way I wanted it to.
I moan and pull back, "Can you get that?"
Jessa
I wait a couple minutes, sighing.
I hesitate before nodding. I stand and head for the door, opening it and finding the kid there with another girl.
They have... wings.
````
Chase

He opens the door and I swallow, stepping forward a bit, "I just have a few questions for you."

I stand, seeing two kids, and walk to the door.

Jessa

I stay silent in the background, not liking to be in the sun.

I study the kid before nodding, "Okay... What happened to you first?"

````
I swallow, "It was an accident. Don't worry about it."
Rayah
My eyes land on the girl behind him and I reconize her immidiatly, "Why don't you kids come in," I say, "It's getting dark and cold. Did you have dinner, Jess?" I ask her.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Jessa
I flash a small smile at Rayah, "Uh, yeah. Thanks," I tell her. She leads us in anyways and locks the door, sighing before hugging me, "Have you been good?"
I hug her back and shrug, "I've been starving...but I've been acceptable."
I watch the interaction between Rayah and the girl, confused. Shaking my head, I look back at Chase, "Your questions."
````
Chase

I nod and take a deep breath, "I-I was wondering if you could help me. You know what happened to my family..."

Rayah

She looks horrible... Trying not to cry, I feel her forehead before shivering, "Your sick."

She shrugs, "I've been living in an alley for a month...so--"

"An alley?" I gasp, "What happened to your parents?"

"ran away," She tells me, "They kept on doing this to me," She shows me burn marks on her shoulder, and bite marks on her neck and torso. I practically stop breathing before looking at Jace, Can they stay with us?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Jessa

I say where I am, crossing my arms and coughing, thirsty again. Well, sh*t.

I look at Rayah and then at the marks on the girl. I guess so. Just... as long as they don't scare the kids.

````
Chase
Jace doesn't answer me and I shift uncomfortably, waiting.
Rayah
I look at the kids, "You can stay. Just...don't hurt my children."
Jessa nods and I hesitate before looking at her marks again, "Why do they do this to you?"
She just shrugs and I swallow, looking at the bite marks, "Wow...these are deep."
She winces and I sigh.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Jessa
She touches my wounds and I wince. She sighs and holds her wrist out, "Feed, okay? It'll help you."
I look at her, "Rayah, I-"
"I'm asking you to feed. Don't pass the chance," She tells me. I sigh before doing so.
I nearly freak out when Rayah does this, resisting the urge to rip her away from the kid. Instead, I calmly watch and shake my head.
Never forget how special this site is: the older I get, the more I realize how many lonely writers there are who have only family and maybe some friends to read their works. The fact we get free critique, nightly writing pads, free contests and unlimited interaction at *no cost* with people genuinely wanting to help, can not be overstated or overrated
