Ella

I watch him leave before frowning and heading inside.

Ian

I run a hand through my hair and look up at the hotel, wondering if Ella still lived here. Sighing, I head up to the door and knock. Kyle... being away so long... does he remember me?

Ella

Someone knocks at the door and I look up from my laptop to see Kyle running to it. Sighing, I head to it. My hair is longer now, and the dimples on the corners of my mouth are more like my fathers. The freckles over my nose somehow faded, and my height hasn't changed much. I scoop Kyle up and open the door.

Ian

I can't help but smile when I see her holding him. He looks so much bigger and she looks so different. Did I change that much? I don't say anything when she opens the door, not sure what to.

Ella

I smile wide when I see him, biting my lip, "Hey."

Ian

I smile back, "Hey. I-I'm back. You can probably see that though..."

Ella

I nod and hug him, Kyle confused.

Ian

I hug her and kiss her forehead, not sure where our relationship is at this point. I look at Kyle and lose my smile when I see his confused expression, "Ky, y-you remember me?"

Ella

I frown and look at Kyle, him not responding and looking at me, "That's daddy..." I tell him.

He nods, reaching for him, "Dad."

Ian

I smile halfheartedly, taking Kyle in my arms and hugging him, and close my eyes as I hold him.

Ella

I smile at them and sigh.

Ian

I open my eyes and take a deep breath, kissing Kyle's forehead, "You're so big now, buddy. What have you been eating?"

Ella

"Ice Cream!" he giggles. I chuckle and shut the door behind them.
