I swallow, not saying anything more, and looking down again.
All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie-dust!

I slide down to the floor and close my eyes.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up
Inside

Semiautomatic

I open my eyes and find her beside me. Not saying anything, I just study her image, sure it's not real.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

She actually touches me and I find myself tearing up again, "Y-you left me."
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided

I study him, "No...No, baby I didn't--" I stutter before moving my hand to one of his, "I just didn't like who I was."

I send her an incredulous look, "Y-you didn't like who you were? Y-you had a family, Halee. Y-you..."

I swallow and shake my head, looking away from her.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

I shake my head, "N-No...I meant who I actually was. Not any of... I loved who we were."

I look at her, "And that justifies you leaving? That's what I'm supposed to tell our son?"
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide

I look down, "You don't understand me, Lucian. You never did. This...this was a mistake," I glace back up at him before standing -or floating- again, "Bye."

I never understood you? What the hell was the point of this then? I look away from her, a tear running down my cheek, but don't say anything in response.
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it

When she's gone, I bury my face in my arms again and let my emotions seep out. Did she even love me?

I was flummoxed by fractious Franny's decision to abrogate analgesics for the moribund victims of the recent conflagration. Of course, to display histrionics was discretionary, but I did so anyways, implicating a friend in my drama to make the effect cumulative. I think a misanthrope would have a prosaic appellation, perhaps one related to autonomy and the rejection of anthropocentrism. I think they wouldn't think much of the prominence of watching the coagulation of tea to prognosticate future malevolent events, not even if those events were related to jurisprudence.
