Joseph

I study her before getting a feeling she wants to be alone, looking at my buddies, "Oh, well, I'll leave you to... whatever it is you're doing. I'll see you around then, I guess."

Melissa

I grab his hand and pull him back. "No, I am sorry. I am just taking everything in. You of all people shoul know I hate being alone." I say

Joseph

I flash a smile and nod, "Well, I didn't know if you were the same girl I knew anymore. You seem different. I'll stay though. My friends won't care."

Katie

I smile and sit up. I am by the same girl. I am a blood sucking vampire. I never told him this because I did not want to scare him. I am a killer and worst part is, I like it. Part of me still loves him, so I could never feed from him.

Some where, I smell the blood fall. I look up and see one of his friends got cut. I put my sun glasses on to cover up the red in my eyes. "You are right, I am not the same girl." I say. I get off the float and walk over to the guy. I pull him aside and whisper in his ear. "You will show no pain." I say. I act as if I am kissing his neck, but I am drinking his blood.

Joseph

I watch her go and lose my smile, looking away when she starts kissing his neck. Pulling myself out of the pool, I wrap a towel around my waist and sit down where I can't see that. Half of me wants to leave, but the other half knows that it won't solve anything. Great. Get my best friend back, whom I've loved since freshman year of high school, and she starts sucking the neck of one of my buddies. Such a great start to summer.

Katie

I make his forget what just happened and make him think that he loved it. I kiss his lips and smile. I bite my thumb and heal his wounds.

Joseph

I put my sunglasses on and stare up at the sky, thinking of anything else except for what she just did.

Melissa

I get in my car and drive home, I know that I just hurt Joe. I want to care but I cannot. I cannot let my feelings back into my life.

Joseph

She leaves, and my buddy brags about what just happened. I pretend to be happy for him, but leave soon after. Getting to my apartment, I drop my keys in the bowl by the door and plop on the couch. So much for her not wanting to be alone.

Melissa

I park my car and head inside. I go out the back and run. Thoughts swarm in my head. I have been the same age for five years but my whole life is so screwed up. I lost my best friend that I am pretty sure I loved. I lost everything good about me and now I am a killed. I spot a guy on he beach and dart at him, not able to control myself. I feed off of him until there is nothing left. I then run away, leaving him to die

Joseph

I pop open a beer and head out to my balcony, overlooking the ocean. Sipping on the beverage, I think over everything. The last time I saw her replays in my head, and the regret of not telling her that day swells in my chest again.

Melissa

As I run back to my house, I see him sitting on a balcony. I slow down and wipe the blood from my mouth.

Joseph

I shake my head at myself and turn back to go inside, leaving the door slightly ajar for a breeze.

Melissa

I grunt to myself and run back. He does not understand. I would rather him think I am a slut than know I am a monster.

Joseph

I down the bottle and set it down, sprawling out on the couch and flipping on the TV.
