So I’m just going to assume that everybody looking at this SB has read of seen the movie of the Hunger Games, right?
Also seeing how you’re on this thread you probably even like it, am I right?

Anyhow just to be clear this isn’t exactly what you’d call an actual Hunger Games Story Book, including the districts and heroines and all that, it’s something different, set in this time and place.

Plot
Spoiler
It’s 2012 and a family of rich crazies (not sure who they are just yet...) just went to see the Hunger Games in Cinema. They loved it! In fact they loved it so much that they wanted to have another Hunger Games. In New York. Using actual people.

This wasn’t something that they were going to give up very easily. In fact in only a few short months they had the arena- an out of the way abandoned island- as there play ground.

They bought lost of costumes and other equipment so that they could re-enact their very own version of the Hunger Games (It’s not the 75th one or anything- actually they’re calling it the 1st One)and have began to put all the names of the people from the age of 12 to 18 into two separate glass balls (one for boys and one for girls).

Soon they have they’re contestants- the whole 24 of them- carefully picked out and under watch.
(They decided to skip “The Reaping” because they dubbed it too hard to undertake.”)
A month later the twenty four named “Tributes” were taken (the family are actually really rich with a lot of influence over a lot of different people to help them kidnap the teenagers off the streets when nobody else was around) to the remote island and trussed up in “Capitol-like” clothing for the ‘Tribute Parade’. (This one however doesn’t have quite as many viewers...”)

Then a few days later after “Training” and a strange interviewing session the “tributes are thrown into the “Arena” and told to fight.
When they don’t the crazies send wild animals and dangerous weapons (They have influence...) to where the teens are staying and a few are even killed.

So will the tributes fight? Or will they be killed?

Well... their main idea (well at least a few of them) is to escape from the island and the “Game Makers.”

What You Do:

Spoiler
Alright so you can either be one of the unsuspecting teenage “tributes” who get’s kidnapped from their home town, taken to some strange island and told to kill each other or you can be one of the “Crazies” who took it upon themselves to be “game makers” (or any other high positions) in the world’s very first Hunger Games.

Fill out the character profile below and have fun.
:)

Happy First Hunger Games, America and May the odds be ever in your favour.

What’s they’re strategy? (Go along with the crazies and fight, run like crazy around the island trying to stay alive or Join the group and try to escape.)

Up for Love?

Skills and Weapons: (Okay. This is a Hunger Games in this day and age. Not everyone is going to be skilled with a bow and have kick-ass fighting skills. If anything keep it minor.)

Other:

“Mentors” (sorry I haven’t mentioned these people until now. Basically the mentors are other people chosen. Except these people were chosen carefully. Each mentor was chosen specifically for the district and is trained in some sort of fighting or weaponry. The ones who aren’t doing their jobs willingly- a few are- are chained and heavily guarded during the process.)

• Romance is good but no sex scenes.

• Keep the swearing to a moderation (Yeah, they can because seriously wouldn’t you freak out a bit if you were kidnapped and told to kill other people? Just don’t make them be swearing in every sentence.)

• No godmodding. Seriously don’t make your character some perfect macho teenager who skilled in every fighting style and weapon.

• You can injure other characters, but don’t kill them without the person’s permission.

• Everyone can have up to three characters as long as you can keep up with them.

• Have fun. :) (Yep, this is now a rule.)

I love the Hunger Ganes! Here's my character profile, hope it's okay!

Name: Ryann-Ann Littrell

Age: 15

District: 4

Gender: Female

Appearance: Ryann-Ann is short at about 5' 0". She is thin and has a light complection. She has vibrant red hair and piercing green eyes. Her skin is clear of anything. She is a very beutiful girl.

Personality: Ryann-Ann is very shy and doesn't like talking to anyone besides her closest friends. She gets very nervous around people she doesn't know, but can tough it out because she is very tough and brave. She loves music and is a great singer. She is nice to people who are nice to her and is mean to those who are to her. She is very random and funloving, her friends would describe her as a humorous, intelligent girl, with a lot of sarcasm. She also has anger issues and can just blow up at any time, she doesn't handle stress very well.

History: Ryann-Ann grew up in a small town outside of New York City with her parents and her older brother. Her parents never cared much for her, favoring her brother and mostly ignoring her. She learned to be independent and take care of herself at a young age and it has somewhat paid of by making her a stronger person. Her parents moved the family into a small apartment in Manhattan recently, because her father had to find a new job and the one he found pays less, so they needed cheaper rent. She isn't very sociable because of where she grew up, not many people in the city are willing to just stop and chat.

Have they read or seen The Hunger Games: Yes. She has read all three books multiple times, went to the opening premiere of the movie and was first in line to buy the DVD when it came out. She is a huge fan and is majorly obsessed.

Strategy: Fight it out. She knows escape is less likely than survival by fighting, plus she thinks she has a small chance of winning because of her backround.

Up for love: Yes, she is straight. She would love to find her first boyfriend.

Skills and weapons: She excels at han-to-hand combat (and street fighting) because of where she grew ujp. She also is fairly handy with knives, especially throwing knives. She is strong and a very fast runner and is flexible, thin, and short enough to be able to hide easily. She sings, but that won't help. She is smart and is a girl scout, so she knows a thing or two about survival skills.

Other: Maybe she can have an ally, but no one overly confident. Like someone who is shy like her and they could team up. Kind of like Katniss and Rue, but maybe the same age.

Name: Lady Helen Abernathy

Age: 72

Gender: Female

Appearance: Helen is your typical "little old lady." She's little and skinny and wrinkly, with big blue eyes, long white hair in a bun, and little hands and feet. She tends to wear lace, silk stockings, and those dresses with pads in the shoulders. She wears one small diamond ring on her left hand, a gold necklace, and little pearl earrings.

Personality: Helen is Sweet. She always has candy for small children and tea and cookies for adults. She tends to tell funny anecdotes, and has a high, musical laugh. She plays the piano very well. She can often be seen with knitting or needlepoint, or with the newest literature, which tends to shock her. What most people don't know is that she suffers from schizophrenia, and is only out of an institution because her family doesn't want the scandal. Absolutely selfish and stubborn; when she gets hold of an idea she will, very calmly and sweetly, plow her way over or through anyone or anything that crosses her.

History: Helen was born to Lord Jerrold Harbottle, Earl, in October 1940. She was born in America, where her wealthy parents had immediately removed themselves on the advent of the London Blitz. They remained there, even after the war. Being an only child, she was severely spoiled, but taught perfect manners, the result being that she can 'polite' her way into or out of anything. She was married at sixteen to a wealthy oil baron. When she turned sixty, she started displaying symptoms of schizophrenia, but the family hushed it up and tried not to believe it.

Position: A "Crazy". After her family took her to see THG, she went straight home, read all three books, and came up with the idea for holding it in real life.

Up for love?: No. Unless someone really wants their character to hit it off with a psychopathic old lady.

Other: Highly-educated and brilliant. This may not be the first time she's been engaged in some sort of crime.

Name: Jessica Beatty

Age: 17

District: 10

Gender: Female

Appearance: Jess is a little taller than average and certainly plumper. Her face is pretty, especially about the eyes and eyebrows (both of which are brown), and has a good profile. She tends to carry weight on her hips, about which she is very self conscious. She has big hands and feet, and carefully though inexpertly manicured nails. Her hair is long and brown; she tends to keep it in a braid or pulled up off her neck.

Personality: Jess is smart. At least, she's book-smart. She's homeschooled; she got 34s on her ACT without trying. She loves to read old classics, especially romances. Because of her intelligence, she's rarely had to work at schoolwork, so she rarely works at anything. She hates math, so she learned how to do it quickly in her head so she could get out of it. She likes people and wants to be liked and accepted, but she also tries to keep her own individuality and not bend to the popular current. Has a beautiful voice, but knows next to nothing about music.

History: Jess's parents are what she likes to call "poor gentry"--well-educated, intelligent, cultured people who happen to be poor. Her dad works a minimum wage job even though he has a degree in English. She has six siblings, five of whom are over thirty. The one left, her little brother, is her best friend and worst enemy rolled into one. While most kids were raised on Teletubbies and Disney Channel, Jess and her brother were raised on Gilbert and Sullivan, James Herriot, and old Doctor Who. Her parents are very protective; the only time she's alone is when she's walking home from her dual-enrolment classes, one block away...

Have they read or seen the Hunger Games?: No. Tends to avoid things that "popular" people like. Has heard of it and knows the basic idea, but isn't interested.

What’s their strategy?: Join the group and try to escape.

Up for Love?: Definitely. Tends to have a knight-in-shining-armour view of men, due to excessive reading.

Skills and Weapons: Is used to wrestling with her brother. Out of shape for running, swimming, or climbing, but can kick, jump, bite, and pull hair.

Other: Was chosen partly because she (very faintly) resembles the District 10 Tribute from the movie.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife.

Here's my profile!

Name: Lilah Marcy McQueen

Age: (12-18) 16

District: (No they’re not actually from the district. They were just placed into them in a completely random fashion.) 8

Gender: (Keep the gender ratio’s even) Female

Appearance: Lilah has dirty blonde hair, shoulder length. She is thin but muscular, and walks with a limp due to a childhood injury, much like the boy in the Hunger Games that was from district 8. Even so, she is fast and quiet in the woods, after years of practice hunting with her father. She has blue-green eyes and pale skin. She is tall, 5'7". Her face is angular and square-ish.

Personality: Lilah is brave and adapts quickly to changes. She is kind and caring, but can act cold and distant if need be. She is a good actor and is very stubborn. She is extremely intelligent and loves to read. She can be funny at times but is usually sarcastic and a little bitter.

History: Ever since Lilah can remember, her parents have fought. Whe she was eight, they finally split and after many custody battles shewent to live withher father. Her mother accepted that she was not the baby boy they were hoping for, but her father did not. Ever since, she has been forced to watch hoursf football and hunt with her dad. She wouldn't mind it if she wasn't forced to hunt. When she was ten, when she was first learning how to shoot a gun, she accidently shot her own leg and has walked with a limp ever since. She was captured by the crazies when she was reading in the woods.

Have they read or seen the Hunger Games? She has read the Hunger Games books twice and has seen the movie once.

What’s they’re strategy? (Go along with the crazies and fight, run like crazy around the island trying to stay alive or Join the group and try to escape.) Try to escape

Up for Love? Sure, but nothing too serious. Stright.

Skills and Weapons: (Okay. This is a Hunger Games in this day and age. Not everyone is going to be skilled with a bow and have kick-ass fighting skills. If anything keep it minor.) Good with a .22 and a shotgun. Ok with a crossbow but not that great. Is fairly quiet.

Other: Her token is the book she was reading before she was captured. It was NOT the Hunger Games, but Divergent.

I am 5'11'', medium build, strong, doesn't always wear glasses, chocolate brown eyes, dark brown hair with an auburn glow and a blond birthmark, dimples, relatively tan, etc.

Personality: flirty, funny, chill (when not in a group of friends)

History: Raised in Tennessee as a gentleman, because of a series of drug/gang related incidents incited by him, he was sent to a boarding school in Western Mass. He ran away on spring break and wound up in NYC while in the midst of a gang fight between his friends and the rival gang, both groups were captured using chloroform and were taken underground to be trained.

Have they read or seen the Hunger Games?: They have.

What’s they’re strategy? Fight using gang and guerilla tactics as well as use his flirtatiousness to get at least one girl to become his ally and possibly a long term relationship. Then join the small group to escape.

Up for Love? DEFINATELY

Skills and Weapons: Uses brass knuckles, makeshift pyrotechnics, switchblades, small firearms, and hatchets/swords...

Other: IDK
They say the world is your oyster; but what if you keep kosher?

I just want to be the side character in a book that basically steals the whole series.
