I start humming, not even sure to what song, and try my best not to fall asleep.

I flash a smile and nod, "Yeah, Els. Daddy."

We get to the house and I turn the car off.

I smile at them and Ella looks up at me. Nodding, I let her go and she crawls onto the hospital bed with Jace.

Nic

I hear the car turn off and sit up, opening my eyes. I see Jackie's house in front of us, "Oh yeah... We never formally discussed living arrangements. I guess I have to go get all my clothes from Jace's soon..."

I smile and watch her, not reaching towards her in fear of frightening her.

Jackie

I nod and bite my lip, "Okay."

I watch them, Ella curling up beside him while shivering.

Nic

I study her, "I mean... that's okay, right? 'Cause families live in the same house... families that are together anyway. Oh! And we have to have the wedding. You said you wanted that first."

I hesitate before pulling her on my lap, smoothing back her hair comfortingly, "S'alright, Els. You cold?"

Jackie

I smile, "I know. And oh! I forgot about that...when should we have it?"

Ella nods slowly and I sit back, running a hand through my hair.

Nic

I smile back, "Uh... whenever you want, really. I mean, you're the one who has to wear the dress and walk down the aisle. I just have to wait, say how I feel, and slip a ring around your finger..."

I take the hospital blanket and pull it up, gently draping it over Ella.

Jackie

I put on a straight face, "No. Don't put all the pressure on me. I'm only a girl."

I smile and sigh, Ella closing her eyes.

Nic

I flash a smile and shake my head at her, sighing, "Sorry, Jacks. But you aren't just any girl. You're the strongest one I know. Emotionally... and probably physically since you might just kill me for this later."

I smile down at Ella as she closes her eyes and look at Rayah, motioning her closer as well.

I smile, finding it more amusing than threatening.

I sigh and look back at Ella, speaking to Rayah, "Where are the twins?"

I sigh, "At school. The sitter dropped them off."

Nic

I smile and quickly kiss her before getting out of the car. My feet burn from the pavement and I swear, bolting like an idiot to the door.
