Guys, I'm gonna start off this Storybook now. I can't take the suspense anymore. >u<

Autumn

The world spun, the fires raged, the waters churned, the clouds fell and chilling roars echoed through the lands...but I was the only one there. I was the only one standing. Everyone else lay on the ground, limbs broken in unimaginable ways, blood flowing out of their wounds, some eyes agape, still seeing the horror they saw when they died. Yes...everyone's dead. And I'm all alone.

Jay

I run to them; they're waiting for me.

A smile spreads wide across my face as I try to keep up with their frantic pace.

Why wouldn't there be a smile? I belong now; I'm happy.

-Crack-

What?

The ice suddenly breaks and I plummet downwards

I hit the edge of the ice hard and am barel abley hold my body above the abyss

It's cold.

I'm slipping

I look to them, panicing,

they stare back with blank faces.

I can't hold on much longer

I reach a hand out, increasing my chance at slipping into the abyss for the chance of a savior, a friend.

When did they get so far away?

Why won't they help me? What do I mean to them?

What am I?

Am I nothing?

No, no. . .

Please. . .

I'm alive too.

I'm alive. . .

It's so cold.

Name: Vander (Though people tend to repeatedly mess that up)

Age: (14-20) 15

Gender: male

Appearance: (Picture optional.) (He's ma cuty boy *pinches cheeks* kuchy kuchy koo) He wears these goggles all the time and so, no one knows how his eyes look like. He always wears this huge hat and people know his hair is blach from the little they see thats uncovered. He wears really baggy grey clothes
Spoiler
Image

Personality: He's basically what everyone calls a coward, but really he really really lacks self confidence. He's always in doubt and thinks to critically about everything. He's very observant and you'll understand why when you know his fear. He isn't so shy as to not speak, he just is so uncertain, he can't make a decicion easily and sometimes stammers. He doesn't like getting attention.
And gets embarrased easily.
basically he looks weak and thats how he is for know.Just for a while...

Fear: (Everyone has only one realistic fear. Make it as terrifying as you please.)

He is afraid of almost everything. Even a drop of rain can make his heart jump if it falls on him and it hadn't been raining. But he has a deep fear that No one would understand him and that he would always be a weakling thats picked on.

Power: (Forget the realistic thing. Just have fun with it! ^-^)
He is good at analyzin situations and just using his senses, he can get good intel of a person or place(like touching a doorknob, he'll tell you how many people live in that house) HE hides this talent and when people discuss about particular things that he knows about, he won't voice himself cuz he's unconfident in himself. He dose tend to give out infomation by acciedent that people are surprised by. It can be annoying especially when people really need the info at the start but he keeps quiet. His telecommunication is very week though developing.
Up for love?
No.
Other: He is really cute and people don't notice that with all those things on. Though he is charming in his own little way.
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? (29:2)

I traversed the black corridors of the abandoned hospital building, attempting to find an escape from the darkness which dominated there. Two metres or so wide, the hallways, faintly lit by no source of illumination which I could perceive, stretched upwards in in a fashion which I found disturbingly macabre, ending in a narrow line of blackness perhaps a mile or so above me. The barren, grey walls were plotted with doors of varying dimensions, but none were at my altitude, all hanging at least a certain distance from the tiled floor, some open to reveal the nothingness which lay beyond. Hands could be observed worming their way along these surrounding walls, a few yet attached to bodies which were pulled towards me by the morbid force of gravity.
I ran, my one remaining eye conveying a maniacal fear. The other I clawed out when I beheld the thing that was behind me. I turned a corner, or mayhap six, and sped past an array of rusted metal rods inserted into the ground from which the patients could be seen suspended. These rods pierced them cruelly - some completely, others were hanging by their jaws or necks. Some were smiling, their eyes abnormally swollen. I laughed a little, and moved on.
It was then that a hand grabbed me, pulling me towards itself. It was a child, I realized, resting on one of the poles. The thing bit off my cheek, and moved to eat the eye which I still held possesion of. For that I was then grateful, for my pursuer caught up.

The typical mindless play, resorted to traumatic distress. I stand there, looking at the ocean waves. The beauty of them, crashing on the shores. There is an intense urge to go into the water. I take a few steps forward, letting a wave crash on my foot. I go further out where it is at waist height. Nothing to back, but the urge is pulling me to go out further. I come to a place where my head is the only thing not under water. Then it happens, a huge wave starts to form and comes at me, knocking me under. It intensity holding my there, not letting me come up for a breath.

Panic begins to fill my body and fire in my lungs. I feel so small, so powerless. I reach up for nothing, try to free myself from the airless water. Soon my lung fill like the are going to explode. I open my mouth and I take in water. Then, I start to sink.

I knelt in front of the emperor's throne, my hands cuffed behind my back. Kneeling next to me was John, my friend and fellow scientist. He had his head tilted down, refusing to make eye contact, but I glared straight at the emperor, challenging him to hold my gaze. He probably had some horrible fate planned for us, but I wouldn't go down without at least annoying him. How he killed so many people and still called himself a Christian, I would never understand.

"Adeline Barlow," the emperor began, his voice a menacing baritone, "you have been arrested for the crime of spreading lies about the order and history of our world. This is a crime punishable by death... Your only escape, as I'm sure you already know, is to submit to inquisition, and pledge your loyalty to me. Do you swear on the name of God that you will tell the truth?"

I just chuckled a little. "I'm not religious," I replied, looking the emperor straight in the eye. "That oath means nothing to me. ...Now, if you'd asked me to swear on dark matter...well, that's some pretty heavy stuff..."

Next to me, John doubled over laughing. "Heavy stuff!" he repeated, gasping for air. "That's brilliant! How long have you been waiting to use that?!"

"A couple months, actually," I replied, laughing myself. "I just--"

There was a spike of pain in the back of my head, and I fell forward onto my side. My vision blurred, but I saw a guard take the end of his spear and hit John, too.

"That's it," the emperor hissed. "You've had your chance. Get rid of them!"

The guard grabbed me by the arms and dragged me across the floor. "Hey!" I shouted, thrashing in his strong grip. "Let go of me!" As the guard lifted me higher into the air, I saw a hole in the floor, about a yard across. I thrashed harder, but to no avail. With a grunt, the guard let me fall, and I plummeted into the dark--

It chased her. Huge lump of red flesh with navy blue lines running across his skin, patternlike. The night sky casted a dark shadow over the whole plain makeing him look shades darker than he was. His riduculously small legs, bent as he made a lounge at the cloaked girl, whose pants could be heard from afar where I stood fixed on the ground paralyzed with fear. The thing missed her , as she thrust herself. a sharp 180 degrees to the right.
she was slowing down, the things mouth started getting all glooey. His fatigue prey would be down soon.
He was close. he reached out for her. I had to do something, but could
I?
"Emma!" I yelled out without thinking. Stangly, I knew her name. The thing grabbed a lock of her pair sending her flyig back towards him. She was out of raesistance, her eyes alreay looked like those of the dead but then she heard it. My voice calling out to her. Her eyes lit up in hope
"Vance!" she knew me too? She opened her mouth to say something else but the thing shook her. It looked me straight in the eyes as if to say I was next.

"You idiot! Run before it's done with her! Go! A voice that sounded all around me. I couldn't go though Emma needed me! I didn't get a chance to say this though, it was as if that person knew m reply.
"Don'y kid yourself! You can't do it! You're a coward and thats all you'll ever be."

"Show yourself!" I yelled. Another softer voice echoed in my head in reply.
"He' right, you might make things worse for her and looking at this situation logically. Instead of both of you dieng let her die and you go. Two lives need not be lost."

My teeth scraped hard against each other as I shivered. They were right.
"You guys don't know me at all! Show yourselves!" I yelled turning about my point.
" Oi oi! No need to use that tone. We know you sooo well Vander. And you should remember, once a loser always a ldoser."
That last remark pulled a string. I heard the dry grass behing me crunch, turning around I saw me. Two of me! One standing with his arms folded over his chest, the other was bent ove staring at the floor, never stood striaght up.
They began walking away from where the thing was.
" Common Vander,we are you after all. If we say you're to weak, then who else can deny that?"
They dissapeared, I was brought back to the 'reality' .

"Vander help me!!!" Her voice cracked. I stood there, planted looking at the desperaration look in her eyes as she tried to escape its grasp. She most have noticed my fearful expression and knew what I was about to do.
"Vander! Vander! Vander! Please!" her cracked uoice in a higher pitched plea. I looked away from her, I was weak. I would die too. I turned to leave.
"VANDER!! PLEA-" the thing had shut her up. I didn't turn around to see what I alreay knew happened, instead, I walked faster.
The scene began to fade away to darkness, and one last voice echoed around in a hateful tone.
"You'll ALWAYS be weak!" Different yes, but I knew it belonged to Emma and I broke down, crying.

The thick charcoal clouds smother the light of the moon and the stars, leaving me stranded in the nightmarish shroud of nothingness. The only weapon I wield: a torch. God knows how much battery power the thing holds, but all that matters for now was that it is here, the only thing providing an undefeatable power to stop the darkness from conquering all that's left, including the man that grips it firmly with sweaty, shuddering hands. Its stained saffron beam flickers rapidly over the surroundings as my arms sway, scanning for danger, scanning for inconsistencies in the scene.

I notice my breath condenses as it embraces the frozen air, moisture forming on my face. I shiver and shake uncontrollably, teeth chattering, knees smashing together repeatedly. “It’s all gonna be okay, okay, okay...” My voice trails off into this abyss, echoing.

With very little new found confidence, my large and tall figure begins to slowly move its feet; left, then right, then left again... Now I had beaten the first step; overcoming paralysis of fear and starting to move. Fallen leaves and shrubbery crack beneath my size nine trainers, in a steady metronome in amplification of careful but certain footsteps. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch...

A sudden crack echoes eerily from behind me, and instantly I turn sharply, instinctively, to check the source of the sound. The dirty yellow beam tears through the cloaking void, my eyes scrutinising every inch of the area behind, yet I could see nothing.

Must’ve been a rabbit, or squirrel, or something...

The wind seems to pick up speed, howling other-worldly through the obstacles it slices through. The nightmare is growing evermore real.

I continue to walk. It simply baffles me just as to how I got here; all the doors were locked and bolted, including the glass patio slider that sat to the rear of the living room.

Sleepwalking. That must be it. No other real explanations, not like monsters exist or anything...

CRACK.

The sound is back, but louder.
Closer. I can feel it, everything human in me knows: the dark hairs on the back of my neck have bolted straight up; sweat beginning to flow torrents from my armpits, forehead and groin; my thudding heart as the nightmare proceeds to become evermore real.

I know.

There is something behind me.

It's gone. My earrings are gone. Where are they? Frantically, I look around me for the precious items that mean so much to me.

And that's when I realize it's completely dark. I can see myself, my hands, my legs - but everything else is black. Taking a shuddering breath, I grope for my cross earrings that should be there. My stomach hurts. Teeth chattering even though it's rather warm wherever I am, I rock back and forth.

After a few minutes of this, I manage to uncurl myself. Little ants of fear are crawling up my spine, like there's a ghost in the room or something. I try to forget that, instead imagining where I might be. What if I'm in
Hell? The mere thought sends me jumping to my feet with a small shriek. I can't be in Hell! I can't be stuck in here for eternity, all alone in the darkness, without even the hope of death as an escape!

"No!" I cry, taking a few steps forward on whatever invisible substance is beneath me. "Please don't leave me here! Please let me out! Let me out!"

I start running, but the darkness around me just stretches on and on.
This can't be happening. Please, God, let me out! Nothing changes; I give up running and just stand there in the emptiness.

Suddenly that crawling feeling returns to my spine and I let out a small gasp. Fear becomes intense, wrapping around my heart like some kind of evil blanket. Yes, evil, that's what the feeling must be. But why? Turning my head to the right, I see it.

Mist. That's all I see. Just a faint silvery mist, but anything other than the darkness brings me some relief. I step towards it, fascinated even though the ants are crawling with increasing vigor. The shroud of - whatever it is - twirls the the darkness, emitting a soft glow now. I want it. I need it. I want it to be around me and keep me company and I need it because it's so beautiful. For a moment, I forget where I am. The mist is all that matters now.

Only five feet are between us. The mist abruptly starts rising, and I watch it with a frown. If only I had the mist, I could be happy! It can't leave now, I love it!

It pauses, causing me to sigh with relief.

"Come back down," I murmur. "Come to me."

It does come. With a hissing sound, it barrels toward me. I jump to the side half a second too slow; the shroud reaches me and crawls into my mouth. The pain is like a fire, tearing at my insides. I scream, clawing at my mouth until I feel blood running down my fingers.
What is this!? My knees buckle, and I feel them hitting the invisible ground. Agony, horrible agony: it feels as if I swallowed a couple Swiss army knives. Retching, I cough up a splatter of blood.

The mist, this creature, takes over my mind. Everything fades.

Uggh, ignore the terrible writing.

I jolt up, gasping. The nightmare felt so real. I quickly notice that I have no idea where I am. I jolt off the ground. Every thing rushes to me. The stench, the darkness and I have no knowledge of anything. I do not really remember myself, anything from the past. Panic fills me and I begin to pace back and forth. In the very dim lighting, I see that I am in a tunnel. I do not know what I am doing here, I do not know anything!

While pacing, my shoulder skins on the wall. I beat on it a little. “Let me out of here.” I scream. “Someone help me!” My voice echos and no one returns. I begin to pace again. I let out a cry. What am I going to do? I am trapped in here. I trip over something and slam into the ground. I get up at try to see what it was. It was a person,I let out a noise. Something between a cry and a shriek, and back away. “Who are you and why did you bring me here?” I demand. I try to go as far away as possible. Autumn

Oof. Something, maybe a foot, slammed into my back. Hard. And then, it quite possible tripped over me. A series of scratchy noises, and then a shriek.

“Who are you and why did you bring me here?” a voice huffed.

I lay silent. Maybe because this was as much a surprise to me as it was to her. And then, I rolled over and opened my eyes. I heard the girl's forced breathing as she awaited my answer. And I heard the sounds of numerous other breaths. They were calm. At least I wasn't alone.

Alone. My heart skipped a beat at that word. And I remembered the dream.

I shook my head. Not now...

It was just now that I noticed where I was. The greenish tunnel was dimly lit, and the smells that lie underneath the surface were apparent now. It smelled like death.

"Are you gonna answer me or what?" The girl's whisper echoed off the metal walls.

"Don't ask me...I'm as lost as you are."

"What do you mean?" Her voice rose in panic. "Then where the hell are we?!"

I jumped up. Smoothing out my shorts, I looked at her. She leaned on the tunnel wall, looking slightly ruffled and dirty. But anyone could tell she was pretty. She had
wavy brown hair and her blue eyes shined in contrast to the darkness around her. She looked a few years younger than me.

"Let's wake the others up." I tried to smile, but I knew it must have looked forced.

"Others?" Her eyes widened and finally noticed the other bodies stretched out in the darkness.

I beckoned to her with my right hand. "Come."

As she neared me warily, she asked, " What's your name?"

That's right! I don't...remember it.

"Um..." Just then, I felt something unhook from my waist and it clattered to the ground. A knife. I crouched down to pick it up. And something caught my eye. On the hilt, the letter A was carved elegantly.

" I...I just remembered...my name's Autumn." I quickly hooked the knife back on my waist and turned to the girl.

"Nice to meet you." And I put out a hand.

I flinched, tucking my head to my chest, arms up to protect my face. If I landed wrong, I could break so many--

Wait a minute. My hands were free.

And I wasn't falling, either. I was sitting in the dark on a cold stone floor. The air was heavy and damp, and I could hear water dripping from the ceiling above me.

There was an echo further away, and I jumped to my feet. That wasn't John--it was a girl's voice. Who else was down here? I reached into my pocket for my switchblade, but instead grabbed something thicker. I pulled it out slowly, angling it carefully away from my body. It was a knife--a big one. As my eyes started to adapt to the darkness, a letter materialized on the blade--A. A for Addy. Aw...how thoughtful.

I held the dagger out in front of me and crept forward, toward the echoing voices. "Hello?" I called. "Who's there?!"
