What's everyone reading?

I love reading and go by the motto “If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”― Stephen King.
And it's really interesting and refreshing to see what others are squirming through. So share your reading experiences.

I usually read three or four books together and my present list goes:

Midnight's Children--Salman Rushdie
Oblivion--David Foster Wallace
The broom of the system--David Foster Wallace
Wind up Bird Chronicle--Haruki Murakami

Just finished A Tale of Two Cities. The only thing I didnt like was when I finished it realizing I would never be able to read it for the first time again Oh well, it was great, I love Dickens.

I'm working my way through Lord of the Rings - I can't believe I never read them before! So, so, sooooooooooooo good. All hail Tolkien.

I am reading Pride and Prejudice yet again. I never get old of a classic. ^^

I am also reading another book called The Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice. It's going good so far. ^u^

I'm also trying to get through a few YAs...the list is too long to keep here. ^^"

Right now I'm reading "Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk and "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger.

Hey Gringo, Isn't this the book where Palahnuik's infamous Story "guts" is ?

Kind of between books right now. Too busy writing for NaNo. But I read The Name of the Wind a while back and absolutely loved it.

Yes it is. I had to skip that story midway through, as it is impossible to read without cringing or feeling sick,

Just a while back I read 'The Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World' by Haruki Murakami.

Puckerman, is Wind up Bird Chronicle good? I'm trying to decide which of Murakami's to read next. The bizarre quality to the Wonderland was wonderful. I'm contemplating Norwegian Wood, though. Advice?

The wind up Bird chronicle is in my opinion the second best Murakami Book after "A Wild Sheep Chase"......I read "Norwegian wood" but didn't like it much though and thought it was quite overrated..

I am in the middle of reading three books: Eldest by Christopher Paolini, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, and Splendor by Anna Godbersen

All three books are fabulous. Eldest is great adventure, coming-of-age story for those people who want a little change of pace from the Lord of the Rings. Mockingjay is the classic take of conspriacy and rebellion and I am loving every page I turn of it. Finally, Splendor is historical fiction, it is set in Manhattan at the turn of the century and it is filled with scandals, romance, betrayal, and that old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" is the basis for this book.

American Gods - Neil Gaiman. For school. I think I love my summer reading list
Sadly, it's long and I started later and there's no time for another book.

I read the whole "inheritance" series of Paolini and if you like "Eldest" I'm sure you'll love the next installment,"Brisingre", even better. However I myself thought it was just a rip-off of "the lord of the Rings" and the "Star Wars" and nothing different.

some evidence to back my theory:
Lord of the Rings: main character Aragorn
Eragon: main charactor Eragon
Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's love interest is Arwen (the daughter of an elf king)
Eragon: Eragon's love interest is Arya (the daughter of an elf king)
Lord of the Rings: bad flying things are Ringwraiths
Eragon: bad flying things are Ra'zac
Lord of the Rings: there is a big fight in the troll dungeons
Eragon: there is a big fight in the troll dungeons

the whole plot sequence seems like it's been edited from the "star wars"....Anyway when i first read it I was amazed by Paolini's writing, I still am, after all he was just fifteen when he wrote the first One.

Very. It has an amazing plotline, incredible action sequences, and a LOT of suspense. No wonder it got turned into a hit film.

The only thing that's negative in it is the weird writing style. But it can easily be overlooked.
