I smile and walk over to her, "All my ice cream?"

I walk casually down the hall as to make sure the cops that swarmed Sam's appartment, the black dufflebag strap that hung from my shoulder shifted uneasily as I didn't take well to cops. I hit the elevator and it takes me down to the lobby where I could safely call her, pulling out my phone I punch in her number the phone rings as I make my way out of the building, and soon she picks up.

"Sam where in heavens name are you?" I ask.

"At a friends appartment why?" She replies.

"Well I got the "loadout"." I said.

"Loadout?"

"Yea, I'll explain later where's your friends appartment?" I ask.

Sam

I nod at Louis before swearing mentally.

Well, sh*t.

I tell Jaylee where his apartment is and hang up afterwards.

"You need to go change," I say, standing and pushing him into his room, "one of my partners' coming and I can't have her see you're a cop."

Louis

W-what?

"Sam, I don't - "

The door closes and I groan, changing into more casual wear.

Bring another f**king criminal to my place. Yeah, sure. Don't ask me. It's only my job and life on the line. But go ahead. I'm sure what you two have to talk about is much more important to you than stupid ol' me.

Shaking my head, I come out and sit on the couch. Arms crossed, I don't face the door and don't plan on looking at Sam, my anxiety from before kicking up.

Jaylee Alcantar

I stop in my tracks and turn around heading back into the elevator, just perfect she choose to live a few doors down from her cop infested apartment. The elevator climbed as I got anxious with the cops so near yet so far, I go to the room innocently passing the cops. Giving them my best just-a-passer-by smile, as I soon come to the room where shes at. I knock on it eagerly as Sam answers, I push my way in wanting to get out of sight of the cops. Once the door closes I turn to her and give her a death stare.

"What in heavens name are you doing sticking so close to your cop infested apartment?!" I nearly yell.

Sam

I swallow, plopping next to Louis and crossing my arms, "I...I have no where else, sorry," I say, looking down, "This is Louis...my boyfriend. Louis..this is Jaylee, my partner, I guess," I say, looking back up at her, "What are you doing here?"

Louis

With one look at the girl, shivers are sent down my spine and I no longer feel as if this place is my home, having glanced over her file a few hours before. I avoid eye contact, paling, and barely nod in her direction when my name is mentioned.

F**k. D*mmit, I'm dead. So freaking dead. Sam is alright to be in my apartment, but not an arsonist and murderer! What the f**k was she thinking? If her friend realizes I'm a cop... God, what the hell?

Jaylee

I narrow my eyes at the guy and then at her, it would be impossible to kill this guy with so many cops nearby. I needed to get him out of earshot of me and her so I could talk to Sam privatly without anyone hearing me, but I then decided to go ahead anyways but talk though gritted teeth, I grab her by her shirt and pull her close my face inches away from her's as I gave her another death stare.

"You are the biggest idiot in the world, have you no common sense? When you commit a crime, you get out of state pronto, not stay so close to your home the cops would find you if they came knocking." I said in a harsh tone.

Sam

My voice catches in my throat and I close my eyes.

Please don't kill me, please don't kill me...

I open them and see she's looking at me for an answer, "That's the problem. I don't have anyone and he..." I yank out of her grasp and fix my shirt, crossing my arms, "Just forget it. You're not my f*cking mother," I mutter.

Louis

I hesitate before walking out to the fire escape, sitting at the top and looking down. I'm so freaking dead. What am I doing? Getting involved with all of this...

Jaylee

My hand goes behind me andwraps around the gun that was under my shirt in my pants and pull out quickly and put it to her cheek, as I kept up my deathly stare she looked at me worried as her eyes dart between the gun and me.

"No more additude, no more mistakes. And certainly no more boyfriends, he's a risk that we can not afford at he moment. For him to even be here with you and me is a risk, he could could rat us out and tattle tales burn in hell." I said.

Sam

I swallow, my adenaline kicking up with every breath I take.

"Jay..." I use the nickname I gave her years ago, "I just can't. I can't end up with another heartbreak. Surely, you've had lets see... um...five boyfriends in the last month. Just because people've ratted you out doesn't mean he'll do the same for me. He's different," I fix my eyes, "Please believe me."

I glance back at Louis, the gun growing cold against my cheek.

Louis

I cross my arms over my chest and try not to listen to the conversation, picking up on the absurd amount of tension coming from inside. Every part of me screams to run or fetch my pistol, but I know it won't solve anything. Sam can handle things. I need to stay out of this.

Jaylee

"No Sam, there is no one you can trust. The only person you can trust is a partner who would do the crimes with you, why? its cause you have as much dirt on them, as they have on you." I said.

I put my gun back and walk away from her and make my way towards the other rooms, I drop the duffle bag full of guns and ammo and make for searching though the rooms, But first look back at Sam.

"The bag is filled with guns, I'm going to raid this guys place to see if he has anything worth while." I said walking away.

Sam

What. NO!

Having enough of this, I walk to Jaylee and pull her back by her shoulder, "You know what? I'm finished with this. I don't want to do this. He f*cking promised he'd take care of me, and there's nothing in the whole intire world that can change us. I'm not going to follow you're f*cking rules anymore. I'm my won person and I deserve to make my own decisions. Got it? No more all about you. You say we're partners, then why are you controlling my life, huh?!" I ask, getting in her face, " I dare you to talk back to this. or I'll turn you in myself. How does that sound?"
