Hey, I am ecstatic that there is a forum like this one :). I tried one before but it wasn't very good. uhm, I have been writing for fun since I was in 7th grade and since then I really put everything I had into it. My inspiration those days was Shel Silverstein. If you don't know him he actually wrote 'A boy named sue' that Johny Cash ended up singing. I didn't find that out til much later tho.

I am a developing writer and I lie heavily on innovation, most of my poetry is around 3-4 pages long and it is a very realistic approach to current-day-society. My teachers tell me that I am very good with character development and they also say I have a rich vocabulary. Although my weakness includes grammar and spelling. :/

I simply want to gain perspective in reviewing poetry but most of all I want feedback on my own work. Please, comment and say Hi, I literally know no-one on this site, BYE!

Oh yeah, My real Name is John.

Will you be my Hero?

Okay, okay. We're really not that creepy. Well, that's arguable. If you meet the right people, we're not. ...This isn't a very good start, is it?

Welcome to YWS! :D

I'm really excited to read about your writing endeavors. They sound a lot like mine from a poet's perspective. (I'm a fiction writer, typically.) I did read some Shel Silverstein, though. He was fun to read, so I'd probably enjoy some of your work as well.

Grammar and spelling are among my fortes, so if you need a hand in that area, give me a shout! I'd also be happy to read some of your work -- just let me know when you post it, or I'll stumble upon it myself.

Anyway, I'll see you around! Have fun! :D

EH, My work is not as childish as Shel Silverstein, he writes very simplistic in his books, but for a reason, I mean look at his audience ;p.. I strive to be more like Poe I find as I get better with Tone, I happen to love his work even more. And that's great:) They say spelling is something you have or don't have and well having bad grammar is just laziness ;p.. I have a couple works in today if you want to look I always admire constructive criticism, and well just criticism without flattery. And I also like fiction.. If done right fiction can be more amazing then any non-fiction, in my opinion :)

Anyways Thanks for the welcome!

Hi and welcome!

Ignore Jabs, she'd the scary one ;)

I'm always happy to welcome more poets on board, though we do have a fair few already. But you can never have enough poets. If you send me a link to one of yours when you've got them up, I'll happily add it to my review list. Length isn't something that puts me off (I've written a few long poems myself) so don't worry there and maybe somewhere down the line you can try out those reviewing skills on one of mine.

But either way, I think you're going to be right at home here and hopefully you like us better than your previous site. Let me know if there's anything you need or are unsure about and don't forget, link me a poem,

Defiantly right at home. I love everything, I normally can't find people who think logically on other sites or can carry a debate like everyone on this site. I spend hours just reading and reviewing poetry and reading novels and other things and has really given me a GREAT perspective on my own work. Rydia, please feel free to give me a link to anything you want reviewed, I will be doing some tonight :)

This is the current work I am asking people to review: work.php?id=96570

Thanks a bunch!

Alright, I will. I'll pick something out and link it when I'm reviewing your piece :)
