Sealed Eyes

My mind races behind sealed eyes,
Unaware of the internal betrayal.
Gears are turning, but nothing is apparent.
The safe haven is all but safe.

Within a house of steel,
Busy people scurry about,
Waving in remembrance.
Familiar gestures have changed,
And those I once knew are silent.

I step through the door and see her--
Her eyes burn with a fierce, silent passion,
An azure storm rages on.
She stands out from the rest of them.
She holds out her hand.
We have known each other forever,
but not long enough.

Our hands clasp, electricity flows.
The gears turn faster,
And the unseen become aware.
I am surrounded by ghosts.
The past calls to me.
Behind sealed eyes, they speak to me familiar words.

She pulls me closer, whispering in my ear,
The truths of this world...
The gears stop.

The ghosts shatter.
The world shatters.
The sealed eyes open.

Welcome back.

Ah... dreams are so mysterious, no?

My mind races behind sealed eyes,
Unaware of the internal betrayal.
Gears are turning, but nothing is apparent.

This pretty much says it all. You have all these strange images floating about, and I like the urgency and strangeness of it all. It feels weird, and that's cool. But, at the same time, you don't describe a lot. The verse above can be added on, to become more effective. Also, a description of the lady is needed. What does she look like? You can add some symbolism also, to make it rich and fluffy-ish, which is always good.

Best of luck!

Well, I'm glad it's pretty obvious that this is a dream. :D

I'll get to work on describing the girl more. I met said girl in real life, so I'm sure I can come up with something good to describe her more. :D

As great as this dream was, it really tortured me when I woke up. =\

Oh, and a question. I'm trying to describe her hair color, and I think it would be called 'strawberry blonde' but that's a bit difficult to put into a more poetic form. Any suggestions?

Wow--this really encapsulates the feeling of a dream--uncomfortably familiar and unnatural. I liked it. It's very different from anything else currently posted, which is a good thing.

Strawberry blonde? Isn't that a terrible hair color to describe? I have the exact same problem, and settled on golden-ginger, which in retrospect, still isn't poetic. But, my use of it was not for a poem, so it worked better for me.
