I look at Rayah, losing my smile, "About what?"

I sigh and slide next to him, leaning against the wall. "Our daughter."

I sit up and put the notebook aside, looking at her, "I thought you sided with her and her freedom."

Before Riley turns back to me, someone whispers in my ears. The words flow in and stick, etching into my brain. My eyes droop a little and I have to use the wall to keep upright.
