The Town Plaza

Ian

I hesitate before rushing after Ella, "I-I thought she left. When I said she disappeared, I meant that she just left him at my doorstep and bolted. She didn't even tell me she was with child. In the note she left with him, she said she wouldn't be back. I'm sorry. I didn't want you to ever see that. Kyle... Thank you for keeping him."

Ella

I stop in my tracks and cross my arms, "I'm so confused. I just...can't believe Kyle had to go through that. I...he needs better then this. He needs a mother. S'not fair."

Ian

I hold Kyle closer, "He doesn't need a mother like her. She'd leave him again in a few months. That's not fair to him."

Ella

I nod, "I know," I watch them, glancing around, "I'm just saying."

Ian

I study her before looking down, "I know. I know he needs a mother. Part of that is my fault... I won't let anyone in. But I don't want to open him up to someone who isn't good enough. I don't want to make another mistake when it comes to him. He deserves better than that."

Ella

I nod and look down, "He deserves more. Just be careful."

Ian

I glance up at her before shifting Kyle in my arms and nodding, "I know."

Ella

I nod and take a deep breath, "Can we still hang out? We can go to my place..."

Ian

I nod and feel Kyle do the same. Flashing a smile, I glance down at him, "Yeah, lead the way."

Ella

I nod before just flashing us there, yawning before closing the door behind us.

Ian

She flashes us there and I stand in place for a few moments after, a little freaked out. Calming myself, I sigh and set Kyle on his feet. He looks around before sitting.

Ella

I sigh and look at him, "S'late...9:00 already. Do you want dinner or..."

Ian

"Ice cream!" Kyle giggles.

I flash a smile, "Dinner's fine. Thank you."

Ella

I smile and nod, creating a plate of pasta for him and Kyle, one for me too, "I'm lazy to cook today," I hand it over, sitting on the couch.

Ian

I sit beside her, smiling, and pull Kyle beside me, "S'alright. Thanks."
