"Hey, you," the guy calls, "Yeah, you. Why are you shiny? It's like someone covered you in plastic wrap or something."

He's a downworlder, and now he might die

I walk over to him, and in a calm voice, I say

"Because I'm invisible to humans, I'm a shadowhunter. What exactly are you downworlder? A werewolf? You're certainly not a vampire, are you a warlock?" I say. Preparing to go on attack.

They wont let me in and I get frustrated, walking back over to the guy to get my ID.

I hold my hand out. "Give. It."

I had the girl her I.D. card.

"And you miss, you can see me. Which means you are also not human. What are you exactly?" I say, turning between the two of them.

I almost laugh. Downworlder?

"Are you high or something?" I ask, "You must be on something. I mean, how can this innocent face be anything dark?"

Anything you listed anyway...

Rayah walks back and wants her ID back. I reach in my pocket to hand it back but the other guy has it. Frowning, i watch as he hands it back and tells her she's not human.

"Alien!" I point, jumping up and down.

I look at Alex, confused. "I'm nor human or alien," I sigh, "You wont believe me when I tell you."

They look at me, waiting.

I roll my eyes and look at the floor, slipping my ID back in my back pocket. "I'm a demigoddess..." I muttered so they could barely hear me.

My enhanced ears pick up her say demigoddess.

"Ah, I haven't met one of you in a while. If you want to go, you can. My business is not with your kind." I say. She gives me a weird look. And I turn to the other boy.

"And what might you be again?" I say.

"Oh..." I frown, "I'm an alien."

I realize what I said and slap my hand over my mouth, eyes wide. Sh*t. So much for staying hidden...

I walk around the stores and look in every window. Nothing is good in these shops. My phone buzzes. I pick it up and see I have a reminder. “Hair appointment in five minutes.” It reads. I quickly walk up the stairs and into the hair salon. I sit down in a chair and wait.

“Taylor you can come back here now.” A woman says.

“Just the usual trim and curl.” I say.

She sprays my hair with the water and begins to cut. My blond locks fall to the floor. She checks to see if it is even all around and heats up the curling iron. I fix my make-up while it heats up.

She breaks my hair into sections and curls each section. I cover my eyes as she sprays and then she takes the slip off. I stand up and wipe a few pieces of hair off my skirt. I look at myself in the mirror and smile. “Thanks.” I say. I pay her, pick up my bags and leave. I walk back down the stairs and head back to the tailor’s to get my new dress. I see two people yelling at the air. I think they had a little to much to drink. I walk quickly into the dress shop. What is wrong with people.

"Ok then, I'm done here I guess, no downworlders." I say quietly.

I follow the girl into the bar. I sit next to her.

"I'm sorry to have bothered you. My name is Traxis, Traixis Bane." I say to her.

I flash a smile before downing my whiskey in one take. "No problem. I'm Rayah," I say, holding my hand out for him to shake.

The guy leaves and I'm almost disappointed I wasn't so much of a deal. Sighing, I bolt off to the girl with the bags, sneaking up behind her and tapping her shoulder. Before she can turn around, I disappear behind a corner and wait for her reaction.

I shake her hand. She downs a whiskey.

"I'm having an off day i guess, usually I don't mistake non-downworlders like you two." I say, sipping my Dr. Pepper.

I shrug, Ordering another. "Some things happen. It's not a big deal," I smile wider and fix my hair again before kicking my booted feet up on the bar and downing half of my whiskey.

I feel a tap on the shoulder and quickly turn around. No one is there. I shrug and keep walking. I feel another tap on the shoulder and grab there arm and twist it behind there back. “Sneaking up on me never works. You might want to try something else.” I say. I let go of his arm and smile. “Hi I’m Taylor.”
