Rayah

When I hear that I quickly tear up and step away. "Wh-What?" I ask, a Tear running down my cheek. "No-No-" I start but then swallow and my thirst dies down. I look away, shaking my head and don't want to see this, running as fast as I could back into the woods before realizing how fast I could Run. I climb a tree and sit in it, quietly sobbing to myself.

Kira Nemesis

I make a quick mental note of how quick and how far she could run, slightly impressed. Me and Alyx give chase and soon find her stuck up in a tree.

"Rayah get down! Last place you want to be in!" I yell to her.

Alyx

I watch her run, waiting for some kind of reaction from Jace. Nothing. He's still more afraid than anything. Kira and I chase after Rayah and I stand to the side as Kira tries to get her down. Her sobs...

C'mon, Jace. Feel something. React. I can't do this for you. I can't feel this for you.

Rayah

I shake my head, "GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE!" I sob, my eyes slowly turning to red again. I take out my knife and jump down, running to somewhere where I could just be alone.

Kira Nemesis

I sigh not knowing what to do, I look to Alyx for help or advice.

"Got any idea's?" I ask him.

Alyx

I hesitate before coming out of Jace and lowering him to the ground against the tree. Standing, I look back at Kira.

"Don't touch him, please," I say, "I-I'll go talk to her about...about him, just don't do anything yet."

She nods and I glance at Jace before following Rayah. I catch up with her and take a deep breath to compose myself.

"W-we need to talk," I tell her, "About my brother."

Rayah

Alyx comes up to me.

"W-We need to talk, about my brother." He says.

I run the blade of my dagger over the palm of my hand. "Talk." I said, tears still running down my cheeks.

Alyx

I swallow and glance away as I say it.

"He's...He's not here...mentally anymore. He's gone in that sense," I have to whisper, thinking of a better way to word things, "H-Have you ever read Of Mice and Men? Do you remember what happens to Lenny, for his own good?"

Rayah

I shake my head, slowly adding more pressure to the blade against my skin as he speaks. "Never heard of it."

Alyx

I take a deep breath and look at her.

"Lenny...He'd just accidentally killed the wife of the ranch owner's son. He didn't mean it. He didn't understand what was happening," I swallow, "He ran, just like George told him, and hid by the creak they found before coming across the ranch. George finds him and talks to him for a little. All the while he's thinking about what will happen when the dogs and mob they have looking for Lenny will do when they find him."

I pause, having to look down.

"So, George pulls out the pistol he stole from the ranch owner's son and tells Lenny to look ahead," I say, blinking back emotion as I think about Jace in place of Lenny, "He sits behind him and shoots him. Lenny didn't feel a thing."

I glance up at her, swallowing again.

"George did what he had to do to keep the closest thing he had to family from suffering the rest of his life," I tell her.

Kira Nemesis

I take Jace in my arms as I slowly lawl him into a sleep, as the scent of death creeped into the air. It was a natural sense I had when someone was about to die. And this man was about to expire I could tell, I lawled him into sleep in my arms.

"You were reborn by my hands, and now you shall die by my hands." I say softly.

Rayah

I break out crying again, digging the dagger into my skin while watching myself bleed out. "T-Tell my kids I love them..." I say, running back deeper into the woods until no one could see me, and drop by a tree, shaking my arm out to get the blood moving faster.

Alyx

"No! You can't leave them too..." My voice cracks.

I don't run after her, unable to move for a moment. I instead turn to where I left Jace and find Kira holding him. Wiping all emotion from my face, I sit at Jace's left and hold my arms out for him.

"You can do it," I tell Kira, "But I want to make sure he knows I'm here....His wife won't be."

Kira Nemesis

Alyx comes back but I do not stop as I keep him dreaming.

"The scent of death was in the air, and I could tell this man was about to expire, even now, I have lawled him into a sleep where he dreams his sweetest dreams, his best pleasures, his greatest acceviment's. As my duty of being the princess of vampires, the deliever of death. I shall deliever unto him a peaceful and eternal rest." I said in a dreamy voice.

I prepared to sing for Jace before finally putting him out of his misery a rareity that I have only done once.

I finish and bite into Jace quickly and swiftly draining him of his blood.

Alyx

I watch until I can't anymore, turning away and trying to hold back the tears. She stops singing and I cringe inside, the guilt hitting me.

I did this. I did this. I'm so sorry, Jace. I didn't want this. I...I won't leave your family. I'll look after them for you. I'm so sorry.

I jump up and run before I can be seen at my worst. All his memories pass through my mind, as I had promised to hold them for him, until they fade. Only then I know he's gone. Only then I hate what I've done.
