Watch after him?

I scoff, pacing in my calmer state of wolf form.

Of all people...

I shake my head and plop down before the door, growling for no reason. She knew I didn't trust the King, didn't trust much of anybody. Since when did I become the city's guard dog?

Grunting, I scan over the area.

Not like a purple wolf would be much of a scare anyway...
I'm never what I like
I'm double sided
And I just can't hide
I kind of like it
When I make you cry
'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up

I sorted out my jewels in seperate piles, keeping them in order by color. I could care less about gold. It was the jewels that kept me in the castle. Who knew the king who pay me in jewels? I had nothing better to do, so after I was done setting my jewels in in respective places, I scouted around as a raven to look for any excitement.

I do my routine patrol as I see Nemesis in the distance, as I patrol the boarder's. I fly over the gate and disturb the purple werewolf guarding the door into the kingdom. I soon grow bored of patrol and stray from my usual route, I head toward the Black Forest in search of prey to kill, I see Nemesis land near by and I soon follow. I turn to my demon form which looks pretty much like a mortal, as I land I catch Nemisis attention.

"How has it been old friend?" I ask approaching him casually.

I perched on the tree branch and shifted to a human. "Bored. Just got done with the daily sorting. I never have anything better to do after sorting out my jewels." I climbed down. "As always, I attempt to scare helpless mortals senseless with the old dreaded pecking raven trick, but it gets old too quickly." I leaned against the tree. "What about you? How are you doing lately?"

The guards walked up to me, "The king is requesting you in his quarters at once." They tell me. I nod and walk past them, humming a song once I get there. I drop the guy, my prey, and my fangs go back into my gums.

"How is this?" I ask, looking up at the king.

"Admirable, Bella," I said, curling my lips slightly. "But you have yet much to learn... you are impatient, still somewhat impulsive... but I'm sure that will change, in time."
She said nothing. I probably confused her... that was the usual reaction when others spoke to me.
"If you plan to feed, however, please do so somewhere else... the carpets are expensive."

I get frustrated and throw the guy over my shoulder, "Ugh!" I mutter, kicking the door down and walking past it.

A servant walks up to me and I speak, "Bring this to my room." I throw the man at him, "I'll be there in a second." I muttered, walking back to where the king was. I get a glass and fill it with blood, handing it to him, "I forgot...You wanted this." I said, sighing.

"Ah yes," I said, smiling faintly. "Thank you."
I took the wine from her hand and sipped it.
"Evil is like fine wine, or blood, in this case," I said. "One must savor it, revel in it, appreciate it..." I saw her expression and chuckled. "Or is the analogy lost? Well in any case... I congratulate you on your excellent conduct. The small rebellions have been eradicated. You may go, if so it pleases you."

"Well then, would you like something to eat? dinner is on me tonight." I ask.

I let a dark jetflame loss in the air to signal where I am in the case of anyone watching for where I went off to. The black sun set's in the distance as I watch so does Nemesis to.

I watched the black sun set. "Anything that's still have a heart and liver. Even a half-breed dragon like myself have to eat." I shifted to a raven and returned to the branch to ruffle up my feathers a little and clean myself off.

A Raven landed on the branch next to me. I looked at it, noticing the way it watched goings on below. There was someone in there.
I lashed out and grabbed the creature by its ankles, holding it up to my eye, whispering to it.
"Come out, come out, whoever you are..."
I threw the creature from the tree. What imposter dared impersonate one of my Corvid brethren?
The creature morphed into a human in mid-air, landing opposite me.
"Who do you think you are?" he shouted, "You could have broken my legs!"
I laughed down at him from my perch in the tree.
"I know. Be thankful that I did not." I dropped from the tree, landing in a crouch in front of the man. He did not flinch, which saddened me somewhat.
"What are you doing here anyway? This is the King's property." he scolded, following me as I turned and stalked in the opposite direction.
"That is simple. I wish to meet the man so pretentious as to call himself my King."
At the end of the day, when the sun is gone and the light is lost, the shadows will play.

Wymark

The small rebellions were petty things. If petty was the right word. It was all about squabbles and hatred of other and fear and hunger. All perfectly acceptable causes for rebellion, but so often was it so minor. A demon ate your son? Okay. So you killed five other demons, plus the one that killed your son? Why?

Soon you had a whole village in ruckus because one--one--monster got hungry. It was like they'd never dealt with wolves or boar before. Then again, the monsters were a little more intelligent than that.

Then again, Wymark had to admit the others took too many, for lack of a better word, risks. A dying person was a fine treat, same with one suicidal. One would offer up their life if it meant their family getting some coin to survive through winter. Other vices, beyond death and blood, could be sated without so much chaos.

Really, Wymark had to wonder what the king's motives were. Pure chaos or a kingdom? Sure, there was always a fine line between both, but Wymark remembered his mother telling him of old kings and queens, dragon rulers, who served much more nobly.

Wymark, despite his shortcomings, still had a place in his heart--black and cold as it were--for honour.

After all, what he was posed to do had to do with loyalty. He pledged himself to the new demon king, even if it was pressured. A vow was a vow.

He looked down from his perch in the oak on the inn and tavern. It was a two storey building, falling apart. A light was at the door and its sign was half splinters with just enough left to see a tankard and a green apple.

Wymark yawned. Here there were a few big players. Soldiers. Good soldiers. Humans who had escaped to the far villages and had been building a web of resistance. Not petty squabbles.

Today he'd kill them.

***

None of them expected a dragon to land on the tavern. This was unsurprising. However, Wymark wasn't quite sure of that. All but two people in the building had been crushed. Instant death. The battered-looking barmaid/whore and one man, the man he knew was the cause of the woman's ragtag looks.

They looked shocked. Amidst the debris, Wymark returned to his human form. He walked over to the man and, before the man could figure out what was going on, Wymark sunk the black nails of one hand into the fragile skin of the man's collarbone.

Despite Wymark's love of his gold and gems, he flipped a gold coin at the bar girl. "Find someplace nice far away from here to live, yes?" he offered.

She stared.

"Don't worry, I won't harm you. In all actuality, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one. He hurt you, yes?"

She nodded shakily, picked up the gold coin, and ran like a bat from hell. Admittedly, an injured bat, but well enough. Good.

"Well, you didn't hurt her too badly," Wymark commented, looking down at his catch. The man's eyes were huge and sweat beaded on his forehead. "I suppose that means I can't have too much fun with you. I'm good at keeping people alive even when they're rather harmed, you see. But the king probably wanted one of you little traitors alive. Hmm. Should've left two. I could've taken the other one and ripped all your limbs off. Pity."

The man gulped and then tried to make a dash for it, Wymark's nails ripped from his chest.

Wymark sighed and watched as vines came down from the trees outside the tavern, pinning the man into place.

"Monsters are your superiors, love. Don't test me."

Wymark gave himself a half hour, then flew a babbling mess to the king's throne room.
My SPD senses are tingling.

As I strode back to the castle, I kicked my shoes off, letting my feet morph back into paws. I really hated shoes--they were too constricting. I could run so much faster without them.

I walked straight to the throne room, ignoring everyone else I saw on my way. This couldn't wait; the king was always in need of this kind of information. For the last three hours, I had been sitting in a tavern, listening to the rebels talk. To them, I was Tania, a lower-level rebel, but still a trusted associate. Disguised as a full human, I listened to their plans, and fed them misleading tidbits about the king and his mercenaries. Then, once they were through saying anything useful, I made an excuse, and returned to the castle to report everything.

"I need to see the king," I said to the throne room guard. "Right now."

"He's busy at the moment," the guard replied smugly.

I felt my teeth elongate into fangs, and I bared them at the guard. "This is urgent," I growled. "It's about the rebels." The guard stepped out of the way quickly, and I opened the door to the throne room myself.

"Sir!" I called, walking inside. "The rebels are planning an attack tomorrow on the southern guard tower, just outside the city!"

In front of the king was Wymark, and a very battered human victim. Despite his injuries, the human turned around and glared at me. "How could you possibly know that?" he rasped.

"Psychic," I said, giving him a sarcastically sweet smile. There was no way I was telling a human how I really knew, not even a doomed one.

Pain, terror, suffering. Only a few of my favourite things. The underworld is a fitting place for a creature such as myself, the never-ending abyss of darkness illuminated only by the flames of agony. No immortal, let alone mortal, can understand the meaning of 'evil' until they travel to this infernal pit. This infernal pit I call 'home'. Damn those Elder Gods. I am stuck in this forsaken hell for eternity... until. Hmhmhmhmhm... until. Yes, I like the sound of that. Until.

This new King, everyone believes he is tyrannical and evil; they shall wait and see what is to come. When my body is no longer bound by the taints and charms of the pathetic beings upon the Divine Council I will be free to embody myself upon the world's surface, and then stretch my reign into the Heavens. Just they wait. Soon the entire world will be mine.
Laments of passion
Obstructed by fear.
Under guises of jovial chatter;
Incredulous hopes
Steadily feasting away-
Eating away at my heart.

I landed lightly on my feet, a little way into the forests by castle and changed back to my human form. I walked in the direction of the castle while mentally preparing my report for the king.
I’ve been flying around patrolling the city since last night. Okay that’s not true I fell asleep under a tree and failed to report back last night, so I decided to patrol again this morning to make up for it.
There really wasn’t much to report though. The rebellion was on a really small scale, but it could always get wore right.
I rubbed my eyes and yawned sleepily. Hmm… maybe I could just take a small nap before I see the king. Yup that sounds good!
