Izi

Spoiler
Here's the staff that izi carries around that has magnetic properties Image

Just great. They totaly shrugged me off again. Just because we were about to break out into war again, the elders thought it a waste of time to invent stuff. No, they wanted me to pick up that gun and learn to kill in one shot. Didn't they have enough already? I kicked the rubble around my feet as I walked. My staff in my hand, folded to half it's size. Waht would he do? I stared at it as I recalled all the things they said, then gripped it tighter.
" They'll regret this. It's not garbadge, I know I can get it to work somehow."

I sigh. It was true that it didn't quite work yet, but I was sure it would if...if... I'm sure it'd work out.The light from the setting sun blinded me for a second. Then I saw it, a green flag. Can it be? I ran towards the cabin maybe he was there or maybe... I didn't have time to think further. I just ran to the cabin. The country's war split us up so I didn't meet him as much as we use to hangout.
Then I burst open the cabin door and yelled,
" Alcran?"
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? (29:2)

Liam Darbie / Baltia

I walk steadily through the village, passing a camp of down trodden people. I follow the sidewalk to the school-house. I turn a couple corners into the building. Mar is waiting in one of the classrooms.

I'm holding the package that was supposed to be delivered to him. I didn't give a care really about what was inside it.

Maybe it's some sort of weapon, and this is a trap~ Paranoia chimes in.

Nah, it's just Mar~ I mutter mentally.

"Package for delivery," I say, handing him the package.

“Trapper’s daughter?”

I meet the Emir’s gaze without flinching, but I have to clench my teeth to resist correcting him. My father is actually a tanner. He treats the hides of animals which my brothers and I trap. For some unfathomable reason, people tend to forget our invaluable role in our father’s livelihood.

“Interesting you’ve enlisted. I’ll be watching your addition closely.”

For a brief moment, I am elated by the Emir’s attention. He is a fierce warrior and a good leader. His approval certainly couldn’t hurt—either my odds of promotion within the ranks or my ego, but then a flash of doubt forks through my mind like lightning. What do you mean “interesting”?

I stiffen, and though I remain at a soldier’s ready—shoulders back, feet apart—I suddenly emit indignation from every pore. I'm tired of people underestimating my skill as a fighter simply because my dad spends his time boozing and my brothers and I smell of salt and animal skins. We'll see how valuable I am when we're three days from anywhere and short on rations, I smolder inwardly.

Once the Emir moves on, I shoot him a glare to melt the ice off the streams in cold season. It’s only then I notice the signs: the way he carries his shoulders, the nearly imperceptible dip of his chin—it's as if he’s resisting the urge to look elsewhere. Something is on Alcran’s mind, I'm sure of it, something other than the necessity of new recruits or the inevitability of war, and I aim to find out what it is.
Some stories burn inside us because they have to be told, others because we have to tell them.

The Emir walks up. he began talking with girl standing besides him. "What's your name?"

"Upton Hai." Upton stood stiff and tall, staring at the Emir with cold but respectful eyes.

the Emir stepped back and crossed his arms,"Our services are needed once again. Tomorrow, at dusk, we will arrive in Castellan territory. As soon as night falls, we will make the first attack. My father's orders. We have an hour before we depart. Do as you wish."

Upton nodded, grinning at the thought of the blood he would spill. He carefully put his useless arm into the sling around his neck ,to keep it out of the way. Upton trudged over to his weapons. He began cleaning and preparing them for battle.

Upton again grinned at the thought of a Castellan fool attacking him because of his disability, then finding himself without a head. Upton was raised on battle and gore. he was taught to kill men with a single blow and he relished it. Upton savored the taste of bringing death upon his enemy, like a serpent takes pleasure in giving its prey a full dose of venom.
"The one thing I regret about reading is not being able to live the lifes and adventures of the characters. Maybe that's why I want to write; to create a story that somebody else would want to live."- Me

Is anyone else desperately waiting to see themselves in the quote gen?
