It seems that, as soon as any thread reaches a page number in triple digits, it takes up extra room and resources. That's why we cap at 99. YWS has quite a few forums and it has to cope with a lot of post data, so it's important that we save the server where we can.
If, by accident, your thread did get too long then we'd split it up and merge it into a new one. This isn't impossible, but it's tricky to get right and (when you're all posting in the thread at the same time!) it seems to slow the site down when we do that.
So! If you're able to make the cut-off at 99 pages then that would be really handy and you'd become my favourite YWS members. Make sense?
