Autumn's Beginning, Autumn's Breeze [2]

Christian

"Alright, its one or the other, warn you before I take off or warn you before I go down." My tone was serious, as if this was her only choice. But I squeezed her shoulders and kissed her forehead to show that I was teasing.

"Can't we do both?" She pouted.

I chuckled and pulled my wings tighter around us. "I suppose."

Cara---

Cara made an exsaberated sigh, "Thank goodness." She smiled up at him. He laughed and kissed her forehead again. She warpped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips. "SO are we going to eat?"

Arabella--

As he got to his feet, I landed and quickly hid my wings. Ramere watched carefully, obviously still tired.

Grinning mischieviously, I leaned forward and kissed him deeply. When I finally pulled back, he looked a bit more awake. I grinned, quite proud of myself.

Ramere-

The kiss caught me off guard. I blinked before allowing my eyes to close and a smile to trace my lips as they pressed against hers.

Then, all too soon it seemed, she drew away, grinning. I kept my eyes closed and sighed deeply. Then I opened my eyes and gazed at her steadily.

"So, what happens now? We need a plan."

Arabella--

I cocked my head to the side.

"Urm...I thought that was your job?" I suggested, grinning again.

Ramere-

I grimaced and yawned again. "Too fuzzy, can't think straight."

She grinned wider. "Then go back to sleep if you're tired."

"Make up your mind! One minute you want me up, then you want me to go back to sleep! Which is it?"

Arabella--

I chuckled, kissing his nose lightly.

"Sleep darling," I murmured into his ear. Then I pulled back and grinned wickedly. "Mind you, you never know when I'm going to wake you u..." I ended this sentence with a large yawn.

Ramere-

I smiled and pulled Arabella down with me.

"You should sleep, too, love," I murmured in her ear. "Threre's no telling what might happen today."

Slowly, I allowed myself to drift off to sleep again.

Caspan-

As I held Kayla I saw, from the corner of my eye, Ramere and Arabella stand for a moment. After a few exchanged words, they laid back down.

Mages. They can never make up their minds, I thought, smiling slightly. I kissed Kayla's head softly.

Arabella--

I fought the sleep, but found myself quite comfortable curled up against Ramere's warm body.

Before i knew it, I was out cold in his arms.

Ramere-

When I woke again the sun was high in the sky. Arabella was curled up next to me, facing the other direction, her breathing deep and even. Caspan and Kayla were sitting against a tree, talking softly. The others were either milling about aimlessly, talking together in hushed voices, or sleeping as well.

We desperately needed a plan. The mages would be on us any day now, now that they knew we were a threat and probably knew of their plan to take the tower. If we didn't keep moving, or do something, they would find us and possibly kill us. Death wasn't something I wanted for my near future, or anyone else in our little group.

But what could we do? We had already tried to catch them unawares, and that didn't work very well. Meeting them head-on in a battle didn't sound very smart to me, seeing as we were outnumbered two to one. Leading them to the tower might work, if we could beat them there and get the rest of the mages to rally against them with us, but they almost definitely had spies positioned there already. And leading them back to the town to get the rest of my family to help was out of the question. Even though they claimed they were ready for anything, most of them were already in their fifties, some older. And there was no way I was going to put Carlie in danger.

So what could we do?

(IIIII still got nothing.....*cries*)

Cara--

"Sure!" CHristian laughed, the landed next to the fire and looked around.

"Now what, do we make something?""

Kayla

Me and Caspan pretty much removed ourselves from the rest of the group and just talked. We talked about everything and nothing. It was...I couldn't find words to describe what it felt like. It was amazing.


Christian

"How about..." I looked around, "Eggs?"

"We have eggs?"

"Somebody does, knowing my mom she packed enough food to get us there and back."
