Ranger

Suddenly Taylor screamed from her room. Startled, I ran after her, beaten to it only by Nargls and Toby. There was a person standing over her. Toby and I both charged at them, but we were both taken down. I landed heavily on my huge bag -- the bag.

My longbow was still in that bag - I could feel the end poking into my shoulder. Silently, I rose to kneel, trying to blend with the shadows as best as I could. Very slowly, very carefully, I began to open it. I could almost reach it...

"Don't move or I shoot," said the figure - a female, by her voice. I was starting to go into action mode, every thought coming mechanically and quickly. She was pulling out a baseball bat, about to hit Toby with it. Toby shouted--

I whipped the bow out, grabbing an arrow with the other hand and fitting it to the string. And they made fun of me for carrying a bow. Not as good as a gun, of course, but it made for a better show, and at this range it didn't matter anyways.

"How about we reverse that?" I told the figure, drawing and aiming, but the woman was already coming at me with her bat, having seen me move.

I leaned back on instinct, trying to delay the moment of impact. And so it was blindly that I fired, the longbow giving a great thwack. Then the bat hit me on the head. My last conscious thought was a prayer that I'd hit her, that I'd at least slowed her down.

Then everything went dark.

Taylor
The figure in the dark just hit Ranger with the baseball bat on the head. Ranger lies still on the floor. " Stop. Just stop." Taylor tried to talk through her tears. She got close to Toby. " Please don't hurt us. Please." Taylor was breaking down. She was not strong enough and has never been more afraid in her life. "Nars run. Nars!!" Nars looked at Taylor and saw Taylor's white face wet with tears. Nars could not move.
" Shut up. I will hit you to."
Taylor leaped up and tried to kick the figure in the face, but she grabed her foot, twisted her around and pulled Taylor back. The figure pointed the gun at Taylor's head. She look at Toby. She shook her head. But it was to late. Toby................

Nars was frozen with fear. She didn't know what to do. Taylor was looking at her, her face was white and fear was plastered all over her face. Nars knew she had to do something and fast. She saw a glass of water on the dining table and ran to grab it. She knew that the guy was watching her but didn;t hesitate or think about what he might do to her.
Running over to Nars she chucked the glass of water at Taylors face adn prayed that it would help her.

Ella Twist-
Ella walked up the steps to the apartment building; curious about the place she would now be living in. It seemed so much... bigger than she thought it would be. She felt small, which was not unusual for Ella, considering her slight frame. She opened the door and walked in, her footsteps sounding rather louder than normal. She hoped she wasn't disturbing any of her new neighbors.
As she grabbed the key to her room, she heard yelling and thunks coming from down a nearby hallway, followed by the shattering of glass. Shaking slightly, Ella began to make her way down the hallway, pulling her pocketknife from her pocket; her only weapon.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" her voice was shaking as much as her hand.

Like Nargles, I will be leaving for a holiday tomorrow. I will have access to wifi occasioanlly and hopefully now and then I can post. If not...THIS IS MY LAST POST. Please read, it has important info.

Toby

Toby awoke, he was lying on a surgeon's table, in a cold basement. He was petrified, but was still able to control himself long enough to pull out his little watergun. It was always in his back pocket, he never left home (which didn't look to good) without it. He was barred with shackles that clanged when he grabbed his gun, notifying the figure sitting over at a computer. They turned around, revealing a person with exactly the same clothes as the person earlier.
"You aren't very...stealthy, are you?" she asked.
It was the same person as before, a woman.
She walked over and placed her hand gently on his chest.
She sighed inwardly, before taking off her mask slowly. Toby squinted his eyes at her, the face was slightly recognisable, but not instant.
She noticed Toby's strange look and roleld her eyes.
"You don't knoe me."
Toby nodded uncomfortably.
"Why did you hit me?"
'I need answers, something is happening. One day, everyone disappeared. All the workers everything."
Toby's jaw dropped.

Nars-

The man realised what Nars had done and didn't seem to like it. He glared at Nars and started heading towards her. She edged herself always keeping an eye on the man. He kept coming towards her and she kept edging back she. She felt herself hit something and found that it was the wall. She had no were to go. She was trapped. The man smiled, happy that he had Nars trapped. Nars started panicking, she had no idea where to go and she was certainly going to die or at least get really injured. She turned her head to the left, scanning the room. There was a window just to her left, a vase standing on a coffee table to her right, a bookcase next to that coffee table and a bed in the far corner. Finally, just when the man was nearly upon her she knew what to do. She sifted herself slightly to the left and jumped.......

RANGER I fixed it kinda.

Taylor
They took Toby, Nars jumped out the window and Ranger was still motionless on the floor. The man looked at her. " Such a pretty girl. So sorry this has to happen to you." The man slowly inched towards her. No one was there to help her. She looked at Ranger her eyes opened she moved swift and with out noise, she had been faking it the whole time. Taylor smiled at the thought. Wow Ranger was good. " What are you smiling at." The man yelled about to turn around.
"Um I was just thinking why would such a 'handsome' man hurt such nice people like this? It is just so sad." She began to cry. " I had so many friends here and you just killed them. Why would you ever do such a horrible thing?" She said.
" Ok stop crying. Blondy." He said.
" My hair is brown." she informed.
" Whatever." Just as he said that Ranger got the baseball bat and knocked him at just the right spot to knock him out cold. They darted out the room.
" Nice acting." said Taylor.
"You too" said Ranger......

Yay! XD Thanks.

My head hurt like all get-out, but I kept still, keeping my breathing soft and slow. Everything in my strained to move, to run, to shout for help, but I knew that would do no good.

Suddenly a man's voice touched my ears. "Such a pretty girl," he was whispering. "So sorry this has to happen to you."

Oh, but it doesn't have to happen at all. I dared to open my eyes - Taylor was looking at me desperately, cornered. The man inched towards her. In the chaos, I hadn't even notice him entering, but that didn't matter. Slowly, I rose, leaving my longbow lying on the ground. Taylor smiled, and I nearly froze. If he turns around...

But she caught herself, changing the smile to almost a flirt. I sighed in relief, picked up the bat lying next to me, and silently ran the rest of the way across the room.

I knew where to hit a man to knock him out - one thing I prided myself on. The bat whistled through the air and he collapsed like a sack of potatoes.

"Nice acting," Taylor breathed.

"You too," I returned.

Suddenly a new voice came from the hall. "Hello? Is anyone there?" I grabbed my bow and slung the quiver over my shoulder - better safe than sorry - and peeked through the door. As soon as I registered that she had a knife, I leaped out, drawing and aiming - but not shooting - before I realized that it was just a pocketknife, and the girl looked scared as heck.

"Sorry," I said, lowering my longbow. "There are kidnappers here. I have no idea why, but they took Toby - the first resident - and tried to take the rest of us. But it's okay - we're going to call the cops and get this figured out. What's your name?"

Sunny

"Okay, seriously?!" I said loudly to myself. I had been walking around this labyrinth of an apartment complex for the last fifteen minutes, and I still hadn't found him. My irritation had reached a boiling point. I rounded a corner, and stopped, hearing voices down the hall. People! Maybe they had seen him.

"Hey!" I called, walking toward the open room door. "Have any of you seen my friend? His name's Ferdinand, he's a little taller than I am, and he has dark hair. We came in together, but I haven't seen him since two..."

I turned into the room, and bumped into a smaller girl. I stumbled back--and then froze, a scream escaping my lips. There was a crowd of people standing in the room, several of them with considerable head wounds, standing around the unconscious body of a woman.

"What--who--who are you people?!" I demanded, quite bewildered. "And who--the--what?!"

I think Toby said the attacker was a woman, right?

As she looked up to try to see the top of the building, Sarah noticed that there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The sun shining down on her face was too much to resist. Throwing her head back and with her eyes shut tight, she spun round and round. Her arms were stretched out and a smile spread across her face. Though all she owned fit into her backpack, Sarah could tell that the bright, cloudless day would be the start of a better ‘round’ of life.

Ending her joyful spin after crashing dizzily into a wall, Sarah walked to the inviting doors of the YWS Royal Apartments and strode purposefully into the lobby. She was greeted at once by a warm atmosphere, but quickly noticed a red stain on one of the couches. Upon closer examination, she identified it as blood, caked onto the material. However there was not very much, as though one had been injured and put something on to stop the bleeding as soon as they noticed.

A voice from beyond the couches called Sarah back from her imagining of the possible causes of the stain, and back into the present. In the present, a lady was calling to her from behind a desk, “Do you want a key or no?”

“Oh, yes please. I’m terribly sorry to have inconvenienced you...Ann,” rushing over to the desk, Sarah accepted the key she was presented with. It was the key for room seventeen, on the second floor. Grasping the key tightly in her palm, she entered the elevator and gasped. There must have been thousands of buttons! Finding them in no certain order, Sarah left the elevator and took the stairs.

A muffled cry of shock sent Sarah running out the level one door and down the hall. Slowing before the one open door, she looked in and saw several people in various positions, the most interesting being either the woman unconscious on the floor or the girl holding the longbow in a drawn position and aiming at her. Raising her hands and entering, Sarah said, “I don’t know what’s going on. If you don’t want me to know what’s going on, I don’t want to know what’s going on, just don’t shoot.”

Lucas

Lucas pulled up to the YWS Royal Apartments like a bat out of hell in his Nissan Cube; as he exited his vehicle with a duffel bag in one hand, and a suitcase rolling behind him, he truly realized how large the building was. He glanced around, noting the emptiness of the seemingly huge parking lot but did not think much of it. With his back straight and his swag on, Lucas entered the building.

Lucas looked around, a bit stunned by the emptiness of the place, but nevertheless was immediately greeted with a smile several feet away by an elderly woman named Ann behind the front desk of the apartments. In a fastened pace, he reached the front desk quickly; Lucas sat down his duffel bag and his suitcase and layed one arm on the counter as he was greeted --

"Hi there!" Ann said with a bit enthusiasm,
"Well, hey-hi-ho...Ann - I called in earlier, Lucas Engeless."
"How could anyone forget you," Ann replied with a smile.
Wow, women of all ages love me, he thought to himself as he was handed a key with the number 19 imprinted upon the copper base.
"Thanks, Ann!"

Lucas picked up his duffel bag and rolled his suitcase to the close-by elevator, waving goodbye to the perhaps sinister, homicidal old lady, putting on the role of a nice front desk clerk... Maybe I let my thoughts get a bit out of control, but there really was something off about that woman... Simultaneously, as Lucas was thinking, he went ahead and pressed the number two button on the elevator wall, tapping his foot to the beat of the chilling elevator music.

While on his short trip up to the second floor he heard a lot of commotion from below... "What in the world?" Lucas said aloud, but he ended up walking to his room nonchalantly, and unpacking his things.
"People are afraid to die, but are also afraid to live."
