I nodded, "Uh my sister should be here any minute" I said checking my phone.

Right as I said that a cunning girl, my sister, 17 year old Haylee walks in.-

She walks to me and has a gun connected to her rist. Tied my leather. "Hey." I said as she smiles. "Hey." she says back and hands me a slip of paper. I whispered, "Is this it?" I ask smiling. She nods and I put it in my pocket. "oh um guys, this is my older sister Haylee."

"A throwing board? Right behind you, mate." Hunt replies.

Another girl, slightly older than the first, walks in with an exposed gun at her wrist. Hunting pretends not to notice it, averting his gaze as Emily receives a slip of paper.

"Would you like something to drink, miss?" He offers the new face, standing.

He almost asks for an ID, then remembers his own glass of whiskey before him and the fact he'd told Emily and Stoddard his name. Not wanting to be hypocritical, he pours Haylee a drink and sits back down.
"Anything else?"

I nod to the bartender and get up, I look at the board and then grab my knife by the tip, I lob it into the board scoring a 80. I walk up to it and pull it freeI take 7 steps away and then get a hold on the tip a lob it again scoring a 90.

Haylee smiles and shakes her head, "No thanks."

I unfold the paper and see that theres a code, "Are you sure its the right one?" I asked whispering.

She looks at me stupidly. "Am I ever wrong?"

I shake my head and she grins.

Stoddard stands and walks to the throwing board, faring pretty well, while the two sisters discuss something on a piece of paper. Not wanting to involve himself in anything, Hunting sighs and brings out his phone, looking for someone to annoy.

Just then, another girl walks into the Blue Goose and sits between the other customers. She orders a Shirley Temple and a Reuben sub. Hunting pours the drink and disappears into the back to prepare the food.

One of the girls a few rows down says hey to Kelsey. Kelsey smiles and waves, keeping quiet. She sips her drink and whispers a thanks to Hunting when he comes back with her sandwich.
"This is Kels." He introduces them. "She's my baby cousin."

I became distracted by the new girl, as I threw my knife for the fifth time, but what was weird was I missed the board entirely. It stuck in the wall, that was bad, very bad, I'm not the kind of thrower to miss entirely. Even if I was distracted.

I decide to go play darts or knifes or whatever Sargeant was playing. I leaned against the wall where the sword hit. "Mind if I play?" I asked taking two knifes out of my boot.

Kelsey smiles and shakes hands with the sisters, remaining silent as she sips her drink.
"She's just a little shy." He whispers to them, refilling their drinks.
He notices Stoddard miss the target for the first time that night and is puzzled.
Hm. That's weird.

I started walking to where Sargeant was standing. I threw the knife and it landed right in the middle. Perfect. I smiled, "That answer your question?"

Every time I’ve gotten feedback that was hard to take it was usually hard to take because there was truth in it and I didn’t like that (or didn’t want to receive it). That’s not to say all harsh feedback is good or that we should be harsh for harshness’ sake, but learning to absorb truth without letting it break your inner core/break you is a lifelong skill that keeps your mind elastic and open to learning.
