The Internet Cafe: Screen Cups

Lis (Recruited)

She quickly walks out after the kiss, not wanting him to see her scream in joy. She meets up with her brother and leaves the street, looking back just once to find Arah still at the window seat.

Arah (The Akachi)

He watched her leave smiling still tasting her after the kiss. His heart was skipping beats. He waved towards her when she turned and watched her leave. He sat down and finished the pizza silently before getting up to go for the night. He put a note under the table that read: "Hey Lis, If I'm not here, it means I'm out doing my job. I will see you soon. Love, Arah." Satisfied with his words, he smiled, tugged on his jacket, and walked out of the cafe and into the night.

Alex was in the kitchen doing some dishes, when he realised, no one was manning the counter. He rushed back in to see what was happening, and sure enough, there was a gargantuan line of people waiting inpatiently.
He hurried over to the counter and took the first order.
"Long Black please, and a strawberry muffin."
Alex grabbed a mug and ran over to the coffee machine. Whilst he was doing so he outstreched a hand towards a plate with strawberry muffins and tried to grab one. He was just mere fingertips away when he felt boiling hot water pouring down his arm.
"Ooh, uch. ARGH!"
It dripped down his shirt and onto the floor while he was still trying to grab the muffin. Then he slipped onto the floor from the coffee and landed on his bum. He lay down and sighed. Then the muffin hit him on the head, followe by the coffee mug.

TEN MINUTES LATER

Alex was all cleaned up, and he had awoken from his daze. Hew brushed off his new shirt and grabbed a notepad and pencil. Away he scribbled, until the pencil broke, so he rushed through draws trying to find one, when he did, he kept on scribbling. He held up the sign and placed it on the counter:

Arah (The Akachi)

Arah wandered back into the Cafe the next day, looking around for Lis. When he didn't see her, he felt his chest tightened. "Please don't let anything happen to her," he muttered to himself. He walked over and sat down at the table they sat the previous day.

Lis (Recruited)

Lis couldn't believe what her father had said, what he'd done, and her brother couldn't either. So, she sneaks away and returns to the safety of the cafe, a little torn up inside. Her eyes set on Arah, his back to her as he sits in the corner, and she lights up and smiles. She orders a small mocha like the day before and slips in the seat in front of Arah, her eyes glancing over the help needed sign.

Arah (The Akachi)

Arah smiled when he saw her. "I've been waiting for you Lis," he said smiling. He also looked at the sign. "I guess we both need a job," he continued.

Lis (Recruited)

"I guess so." Lis smiles, her heart fluttering at his own grin.
She stands and walks to the counter, Arah soon behind her.
"Could I apply for a waitress position?" She asks the owner.

Arah (The Akachi)

Arah stood beside her and also requested a waiter job. "I want the same job sicne we can spend more time together," he told her smiling.

Lis (Recruited)

She smiles at Arah, thinking how cute and sweet he was being.
"I like the sound of that." She says.

Arah (The Akachi)

Arah continued smiling. "I've got to go soon, but I will return later. I'll go when it's nearly time," he told her sadly.

Lis (Recruited)

Lis' smile fades when Arah tells her he has to leave soon.
"You better be back." She flashes a smile at him. "This is my first job and I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have someone to pass the time with."

Arah (The Akachi)

"I still have about eleven minutes," he told her hugging her. 'Plus, it would only be for like a few hours. I've got a call about another attack, so I have to go then. I promise I'll be back," he said tracing her cheek with his finger.

Lis (Recruited)

She has to hold her breath as he traces her cheek with his finger, not wanting to say or do anything to ruin the moment. She wants desparately for him to kiss her, willing her hand to twine with his.

Arah (The Akachi)

A phone started ringing and he pulled it out of his pocket, reading the text. "I got to go, it's already begun," he told her kissing her on the cheek. He turned and walked out the door reminding her he would be back. As he turned the corner, he vanished.

Lis (Recruited)

He leaves, and Lis sighs, walking back to the table. She sips her coffee and brings out a thin book her brother had given her for her past birthday. 'Trust me, sis, it's perfect for you' He'd told her. She hadn't dared to open it until now. The first line down and she knows exactly why her brother could pass as her twin.
