Elly-in the jungle/forest

Spoiler
Sorry for the rush post!!

I looked her over and found that the only ingurys that she had were small shallow scratches, 'so thats why the scent of blood was present', I thought to myself.
after a few moments I heard a yell for help, which sounded something like, "Hey I'm up here survival expert here someone please help me down. Unless you are a cannibal that wants to eat me."
I quickly told the girl that I'd be back and to look after my sister while I was gone. I ran off and quickly found the scent, I followed it and nimbly climbed up a tree and found some dude just about to get attacked by a green tree snake. I quickly grabbed the snake and threw it as hard as I could at a tree, knocking it out cold.
I went over to the guy, jumping from branch to branch. when I reached him I said, "Hold onto that branch really tightly while I untie you, kay?"
I untied him after he said, "Kay," and after he gripped the branch.
Once he was untied I helped him down, our feet finally on the ground I asked him to follow me and we finally reached the clearing, to find the girl getting attacked by a giant spider, she was trying in vain to keep it away from my sister. I grabbed what looked to be a sharp stick off the ground and while it was distracted I jabbed it in the heart, it died almost instantly.

Ranger - the forest/jungle

Suddenly I heard a cry for help.

"I'll be back - watch my sister," Elly told me and ran off.

"Um... okay, then," I answered to the now-empty clearing. I sat on a rock and started wondering if what we should do next. Then it came to my attention that the girl - Elly's sister, I assumed - seemed to be moving. I turned.

It wasn't her sister at all. No, it was a frigging twelve-foot spider. For half a second, I froze, my mouth open in a scream that never made it out of my throat.

Then I realized it was going towards the girl. "Oh, no you don't!" I shouted, and I ran at it, leaping on its back. It reared, throwing me off - I couldn't hang on; my arm hurt was stiffening up again - and then turned to me. My heart pounded as I frantically searched for a weapon. I ended up grabbing a rock and hurling it at the thing, hitting one of its eight eyes. It reared again, then landed nearly on top of me. I grabbed a big stick on the ground and barely managed to block its fangs as it struck at me again and again. Finally it fell still, and then turned around to go at the girl again.

I started to rise, but my leg had decided that it was done along with my arm. I settled for hurling another rock at the thing. It whirled, hissing horribly, and in the process whacked me so hard with a leg that the stick flew out of my other hand. I scrabbled back.

"What's the matter? You don't like it?" I taunted. "Come on, then!" I didn't know why I was taunting the thing - just to keep it away from the girl, I supposed.

It came on, and I threw myself out of its way, rolling. It reared up right over me, and I turned my head away and closed my eyes, knowing that it was over.

Suddenly I heard footsteps. I looked up and saw Elly standing before me, the stick stabbed into the beast's heart. It sagged into it and she let it drop.

I staggered to my feet, trying to catch my breath. "Thanks," I panted. Then, after a moment, I added, "We need to find weapons somehow. There could be more of those-" suddenly my leg gave out again and I fell, catching myself on my good arm.
"We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?"
