Appearance: Tall, wide shouldered, clean shaven with short red hair and a face unused to smiling.
Characteristics: Ruthless with his enemies but accommodating with his men. He is unforgiving to those who fail repeatedly.
History: Mathis is the third child of King Gustav Oren, who died when Mathis was 14. His elders, twins went to war over who should have the throne. Two years later both of the Twin's armies were decimated and Mathis swooped in with an army of loyal men and killed them both as they prepared for battle against each other. Absorbing his siblings' soldiers Mathis took control of the nation, putting down several rebellions from ambitious lords. Once the country was stable and profitable again Mathis invaded a neighbouring state, taking control of it with ease. From there Mathis began a campaign of invasions against his neighbours, turning them into vassals or taking direct control. Under his lead Tarn has increased tenfold in power and wealth, now his eyes turn towards Vortex.
