Cora

I called out to Hunter, about to save my ass, but I thought better of it. "Torture won't work."

She nodded, but she wasn't about to call Diablo off. She walked out of the door.

"Once again, you're guarding me."

This time Diablo looked more controlled. That worried me, his anger was my only advantage. Though maybe he was toying with me the whole time. In that case I might as well be dead.

"Yes, and this time no one is around to watch."

That brought up some nasty thoughts in my mind, but I fought them down. "You're stronger then me, I'll admit that. But I'm smarter, and I'll win. But I still want my ring back. And I intend to get it back."

He turned his head slightly, surveying me, "It's mine now. So are you. I'd suggest you shut up or I'll roast you alive."

That shut me up.

Laiel - good

Laiel shifted in his seat as Blighton seemed to mull over the report. He knew that this needed to be thought out, but he itched to move, to so something. Even being taken prisoner himself would be better than sitting here. Cora is in danger. We don't have time to think! The rebels could be... He tried to stop thinking.

"Blighton, we need to hurry. I don't know how far the others could go, but Cora could be killed or worse if we don't do this right." The logical voice in his head protested that Blighton couldn't magically produce a plan just because Laiel said to, but he was near panic at this point.

Diablo Draco~~~~~~~Evil

I kept my eyes on the mountain cat, quietly letting my fingers play with a small white pearl to prevent boredom from coming at me. Something told me that she was scared of me because of my strength and dragonfire. I smiled at this thought and said out loud, "El fuego puede consolar, pero también puede dañar. De qué manera depende de quién sabe fuego. Man, I love being a dragon. Don't underestimate the power of the classic dragon." I glared at the mountain cat. "Which was the exact mistake that your leader made when the Squad was one and I was recently recruited. You and everyone else but the Professor laughed at me because I chose something extinct and classic." I tossed the pearl up and caught it in my hand. "And who's laughing now? The ones who became free from you and your lot of los benefactores." I smiled, still playing with the pearl as I kept watch on the mountain cat.

Elsa- Good
To my surprise, Jayden actually agreed to letting me come with. I relaxed in his arms again, content.
"We should probably go talk to Blighton and Laiel; see if they've comeup with a plan," Jayden says.
"Yes," I say, as Jayden helps me to my feet.

Jayden

Holding her hand, I lead Elsa back to the room where Laiel and Blighton are. It seems like they're still thinking. I sit down and have Elsa rest on my lap, waiting for something to be said.

"What about a diversion?" I suggest. "We could have the majority of the group at the front of the base's gates, causing a ruckass, while two or three of us head off to get Cora. That way, if Diablo is still with her, two can put up a fight with him while the other gets her out of there. As soon as she's safe, we can call a retreat."

I look from Blighton to Laiel, waiting for any response. The plan isn't foolproof, but it's better than nothing.

Laiel - good

Laiel brightened. That was certainly a better plan than trying to sneak in and bribe for the key. It was risky, but it sounded like it would work.

"I like it. I'll take on Diablo - I'm supposed to be going after him anyways. Who's going to be in the diversion?"

Sorry I didn't post sooner!

Blighton-

" That's what I was thinking Jayden. Laiel you go after Diablo. Lead him away from their base. Elsa will use her beak and pick the lock on Cora's cell. Jayden, A.J. and I will try to get as many of the enemy away from their base. Shift and head out. Jayden, tell A.J of our plan. I'll meet you there." I said.

The other Shifters set out to complete their task. I shifted my head into a shark's and headed into the forest.

Jayden

I kiss Elsa and squeeze her hand.

"Go with Laiel and wait for the opportunity to pick the lock." I tell her. "I've gotta find A.J., alright?"

She nods and we kiss once more before parting. Shifting, I search the base for A.J. I find her outside, patrolling the base still. Shifting human, I walk up to her.

"A.J., we've got a job to do." I say. "We've gotta follow Blighton to the enemy base. Laiel is gonna distract Diablo while we occupy the others. Then Elsa's gonna free Cora. C'mon. We've gotta catch up."

Laiel - good

Everyone was moving now. Finally! Laiel stood to go, heart already pounding in anticipation. "Let's do it," he said in what he hoped was a cool tone. With that, he shifted and ran out at a smooth gallop, a lion on the hunt. Time to fight a dragon.

Cora

Diablo had dozed off, something I would never do. I shifted halfway into a lynx, and stuck my clawed fingers inside the lock. I heard the lock click and I pushed open the gate.

I sneakily slid through the room, not making a sound. My hand was on the doorknob when Diablo pulled me away.

Diablo Draco~~~~~~Evil

I pulled the mountain cat back in her cage. I locked the door and said with a sly grin, "Tirar rápido en mí, gatito? Don't think I'm stupid, chica. You can't escape this dragon, so just face it. I have the upper hand. You'd have to do a lot better than that to get past me." I laughed proudly. "Y sus amigos pensaban que yo era lo suficientemente estúpido como para dejar que alguien resbalar por mi. I'm smarter than I look, chica. Remember that."

What happened to all the other evil shifters besides redfang and I? :O

Hunter - antagonist

The cool breeze blew sweetly in my face as I pawed outside of the cramped up room. I found the nearest tree that could support my weight and leapt up, digging my claws into the bark as I climbed. The day was as banal as ever and I was just itching for some action.

Settling into a comfortable position on a thick branch, I rested my head on my paws and waited something, anything to happen.

When Roger was finally able to move his fingers again, he reached for the nearest coin. If he got heads, he'd try to flee the revolution. If he got tails, he'd stay.

And the result is....Tails. Dammit.

A.J ~ Good

"Okay," I nodded at Jayden. Jayden and I ran Looking for Blighton, when he found him he was leaning up against a tree waiting for us. Jayden and I shifted-so we could pick up a scent if anyone was following us-while Blighton stayed in human form.
I shifted back into human form when we were almost to the base.
"Okay so how are we gonna get Cora out?" I asked.

I flew above Laiel, easily picking him out from the dense underbrush. My hurt wing was a bit stiff and sore; but it felt amazing to be up in the air again with the cool rush of the wind and dew gathering on the tips of my wings. If only Jayden could be here with me.
Laiel slows and I swoop downwards. We've skirted the others' base, where Laiel will wait for an opportune moment to attack Diablo and I will wait for the opportune moment to free Cora.
We sit there waiting, tense. I've always hated waiting. It gives me time to think; to wonder. Was that the last time I'll ever kiss Jayden? Was that the last time I'll ever fly? Is this one of my last breaths? Was that the last time I'll ever see Jayden's golden eyes, alive and glowing? I force myself not to picture what those eyes would look like dull and cold, with no light in them, unseeing just staring...
I ruffle my feathers, as if they can protect me against the horrible questions and long for Jayden's arms around me again, his lips on my forehead, his kiss on my lips.
How much time has it been? They should be making their distraction by now; we should be able to here them fighting and clawing on the other side of the base. Has something happened? What's wrong? Oh, I hate questions! Especially ones with no answers.
