Mia|End of third period-

I passed him the note and stood up. "See ya round'?" I said smiling. Thr bell rand and I swiftly walked out. When I got to fighting class, there were punching bags, and lots of manicans all over, which kinda creeped me out. "okay everyone, we are going to start off with the punching bags that are hanging from the wall as a warm up, just start punching it and try to get it to fall." The teacher introduced before sitting down at his desk. I started punching it one by one, and with one last kick, it fell and I crossed my arms. "Is this good?" I asked grinning. The teacher looked up at me and stood, walking over. "Impressive. That's the best time in the class. Amazing. In les then 30 seconds." He said smiling at me. "You're a Hero right?" He said nodding. "Yep." I laughed. "Well, Mia, I think It's time you practice on someone a little more high ranked." He said glancing around the room. His eyes set in Clark. "Hey Clark, come here for a sec." Clark smiled and walked over.

"I need you to fight Mia." The teacher said crossing his arms.
Clarks Jaw dropped, "B-But she's a girl, I'm not fighting a girl."
I grinned. "C'mon, are you too scared?" I said getting In my fighting stance.

Clark: Fourth Period

I wasn't fighting a girl, no sir. She was good, but this was the first day- it's easy to beat a time on your first day of a new year, the first guy on a punch bag always does. I had been training at home- my punching bag was on the floor in 27 seconds now- so I was faster than her, and stronger. She was quicker, sure, it would be an even-ish fight, but with the fact that I point-blank refuse to punch or kick her, the odds could be on our side.

She had no problem hitting me ( a fiery attitude, which I loved), and I sidestepped her first kick at my shins. And another. She threw a right hook, and I countered it, thrusting my arm against hers, grabbing it and flipping her on her ass.

Crash mats, obviously- she wasn't hurt at all, and a grin grew on her face as she looked up at me.

"You want to go through with this?" I said.

"Hell, yeah."

She swung her legs at mine, and I fell, pushing myself up before she got the advantage. We sparred, me, mainly blocking punch after punch, one hitting my side, one on my chin. I tried another counter, spreading both her arms apart and kneeing her stomach. She "oofed", and I felt bad until she spin-kicked, forcing me backwards as her foot breezed past my face.

This forced me to the floor and, unfortunately for her, this move appeared to be one she had not tried before. She fell right along with me, landing on my chest, her red hair covering my face.

She looked up.

"Hi." She smiled, sheepishly.

Mia|fourth period

I smiled and stood up. "Well played Clark." I help him up. "Your good."
I laughed and winked at him.

"Are we allowed to use our powers?" I asked the teacher.

He nodded and I formed fire In my fists. I shot one at Clark and it pushed him back against the wall. "Ha!" I laughed. "Sorry! I won't put that much force on it next time." I smiled and ran over to him, and helped him up again. He was great at fighting but lets see if his powers match mine. He smiled and rushed towards me. I moved out of the way and he grabbed me by the arm and put me in an arm lock. My arms turned to fire and I burt him and he let go. I laughed and he smiled playfully.

Clark: Fourth Period

Aww, crap.

I knew I was going to pummel her now- my powers were far too strong and unpredictable. That fireball hurt, but I was no where near ready. A few more came my way, and the spirit took over, the fire balls skimming past and through my now translucent body. I phased through the floor, and came up behind her.

"If we use our powers," I said into her ear. "I will win."

"Not damn likely!" she laughed, whirling her arm around, which now danced with scorching flames. It glided through me, and I sank again, appearing in front of her, the fire flying of her arm and hitting the wall.

The room was large enough for several full scale fights, but no one was fighting. They were all watching me, knowing my powers, knowing what I could do- they looked on with bated breath as I floated to the ceiling. Mia floated with me, her fire acting as a pushing force against her, a pillar of fire and gas that trailed from her legs. She grinned again, naive.

I decided the best option was to scare her away from a fight.

My body rushed forward, phasing into her, but I did not come out the other side.

No- instead, Mia's eyes closed, and opened again, her eyes, once a beautiful, deep brown, were now glazed over and milky white.

"Hey," I said. And Mia said it too. "I've never been a girl before."

As Mia, I shut off her powers, and she fell. We weren't fatally high up, but I prayed to God that she would wake up quickly, as they normally do, and fly upwards again.

I exited her body, and her eyes flickered.

But I saw no flame.

"Shit!"

She hit the ground, the crash mat pillowing her fall ever so slightly, but she still contorted as she hit the floor. As I fell to the ground, floating again lightly as I neared the floor, I heard a soft moan escape her lips.

Mia-third period,

H-how did he do that? I landed on the floor with no powers to keep me strong. I rolled on my back, my eyes still closed. They opened again, and My lips where pale white. It's like he drained all my energy. I rested my arms on my stomach, as the teacher ran over. "M-Mia? Mia?" He tries shaking me and then My anger lit up. My fists turned to fire and I punched him, having him fly into the wall. He's so lucky It wasn't hot in here or I would dominate this place. I stood up and looked around, everyone backing up slowly away from me. My eyes turned red and My hair turned more red, and almost turned into fire. When I'm angry its not fun for anyone. I walked over to the wall and punched through it, dust all over my fist. I shook it out and everyone was scared to death, exept Clark. He landed, back to a solid figure and looked at me, "Mia?"

My powers werent that strong right now, and if my powers get weak then I could faint any minute.

I tried turning my fist into fire but nothing happened. "Oh shit..." I mumbled under my breath. "This isn't good." My eyed faded back to the deep brown and my energy felt like it was being drained when suddenly I dropped to the ground. Everyone rushed over, my eyes closed and not moving a muscle.

I woke up about 2 hours later in my dorm, feeling horrible and messed up, and uncontrolably dizzy. Clark was doing homework when he saw me awake. He looked at me and smiled. "You okay?"
I nodded and stood up. "I'm not fighting your powers anymore..." I said laughing.

I was glad Mia was in high spirits again. When I took her to the medical room, some treatment from the Nurse (possessing incredible healing powers- a rarity, these days) she seemed less forgiving.

"What's our homework?"

"Analysis of combative stances," I muttered, tiring of the dull work already. "Pretty basic- I'm only doing it for you 'cause I know you know it already."

I looked at her and smiled. She looked at me and smiled.

She placed my hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry," she said. "For flipping out."

"Hey, you deserve to be mad," I grinned. "Go right ahead."

"No," she said, and placed both hands on my shoulders, rubbing them slightly; I felt a tingle up my spine. "It was wrong of me."

Her hands reached my head now, stroking my hair and encouraging my head to lean against her chest.

"I-" she began.

"You're a real fool, you know that Clark?"

Nero strode through the door as unannounced as a gust of wind, and Mia leapt off me. He was grinning, his insult hiding utter hilarity at what had happened.

"I had no idea, Nero," I grinned back. "She was supposed to get right back up."

I was glad Nero had taken kindly to me; I suppose he was just making an effort because we were room mates. I thought that maybe, hopefully, I could have a couple of great friends in Nero and Mia that I didn't have within the ranks of the jocks and cheerleaders I usually associated myself with.

"You sly dog," said Nero, shaking his head.

Mia|Dorm

I smiled, "Hey Nero, What's up?" I said sitting on my bed. He smiled back, "Nothing, Just checking up on you. Are you okay?" He asked nealing in front of me. I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine," I got up and opened the door.

"Guys, Imma' go try out for cheerleading, I heard their having tryouts. Bye." They both grinned and I carefully closed the door and walked out of the dorm building and into the fighting ring, where all the girls were gathered.

The teacher called my name, my turn. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes again. I did a simple cheer, one that was in our school for years. I ended it with a flip and all the football players clapped and whistled. I rolled my eyes. "Mia, we'll let you know if you made it." I smiled and walked back to the dorm about 30 minutes later.

I opened the door again and smiled at Clark and Nero. "The football players think I did good." I said laughing and sitting down on my bed again.

Izley- Lunch

Most of the kids had gone to their dorms instead of coming to lunch. I found an empty seat and flopped down, enjoying the solitutde. I'd only been at school a day, and already was disgusted. It seemed like all the girls were boy crazy, and viceversa for the boys. Seriously, half the class I spent watching too skinny, think their pretty girls passing notes with the older boys.
Now I sat at lunch, scanning the room to see if I could figure out what amazing person had decided to make it snow. I figured if I couldn't find him or her after a few minutes I would just go outside, though I figured it had been a while, and most likely the culrit's powers would be wearing them out. No doubt the snow would be over in a few minutes, when whoever it was got distracted by lunch. Although, I could at least sit in a pile of snow and use my own powers to make it last longer.
Suddenly I tensed. I felt someone's powers struggling to keep going. The snow coming from their mind reached my own icy veins. My snowmaker was here, a possible acquaintance to keep me from being a complete loner. Who knows, maybe it was even a hero that would be willing to take me on.

Nero | Dorm...I think

Mia left the dorm and I glanced at Clark who was staring at her ass.

"So, Mia eh?" I asked him, practicing absorbing the light energy from a nearby lamp, flickering it on and off.

"She's hot." He replied nonchalantly and grinned up at me.

"Be careful Clark, you could get burned," I met his grin with one of my own. "She's loose."

"Whatever," he slumped on his cot and laid back staring at the ceiling, though I'm sure in his mind he was staring at something else all together.

As I finished my homework Mia walked in, shooting Clark a seductive smile, and said something about the football players enjoying her show.

"Guess you'd better join the football team if you want to have a chance." I muttered to Clark as I walked past him and opened the door to leave. Many girls were a mystery to me, but this one's intentions were as clear as day. Sure she was sexy, but I wouldn't respect someone who couldn't respect themselves. It pissed me off.

"Hey Clark," I called behind me, "You wanna spring this place tonight, there's a party downtown and I'm sick of this dump."

I ran after Nero, "You okay?" I asked stepping infront of him so he would stop. I crossed my arms. "Just tell me. I hate it when people act like this." I looked at him seriously.
"You can trust me."

Nero | Dorm

Mia stepped in front of me and I smiled. I wanted to remain mad at her, but honestly, if I had to room with her for the rest of the year, I wanted it to be own good terms.

"Apologies. I promised I'd meet someone for lunch." I quickly lied and gave her another slight grin and walked quickly out of the dorm. There was no one outside save for a pale girl with long black hair who was pretty. Not the type of girl who would become a fashion model or an actress, but the type of girl who was beautiful in an entirely different way. She looked like she was waiting for something to happen, a look of concentration and expectancy on her face.

I stared at her for a second, wondering if she was ok, and hesitated before introducing myself. She looked kind of sad almost, in a way that made me pause before breaking her concentration.

"Hello, my name is Nero. You looked lonely, I thought I'd introduce myself." I hoped she wasn't like the rest of the girls here, mildly self-absorbed and almost oblivious. She didn't seem like she would be, she looked tougher than that.

He was so lying. I know these things. Is he mad at me? I stood there thinking. He could never be mad at me. Why would he? I didn't do anything wrong, did I? I stood in the same spot and crossed my arms. If he is, I'm going to fix this.
I hate it. Concidering I kinda had a crush on him and there is a school dance in two days. I've been asked to go but I've been waiting for the right guy. I walked angrily to lunch and sat down at a table and all the football players crouded me. "Go away." I said getting up and walking to another table. They shouted from behind me, "Mia! C'mon!" I threw a fire ball back at them and they jumped. I smirked and sat down at a table as far away from them and started reading my book.
