Who do you think the best detective ever was? If you know me, you can probably guess my answer. Why do you like said detective?

Mine is Adrian Monk. He is really well developed. His unique quirks are his best attribute. I can also emphasize with him in more ways than one. And yes, I put him on the tenth spot on purpose!

I'd actually say Marple or Poirot. After all, Agatha Christie was the queen of crime.
I dont know about Adrian Monk, actually. Haven't read Death Note yet.

Karzkin - Holmes is good, but Agatha Christies makes Arthur Conan Doyle look like Nancy Drew. Sorry, even though I'm a fan of Holmes, the stories are too childish now. And a little obvious. I prefer Christie. However, the movies are freakin' awesome.

I have to disagree, Holmes sucks. For one thing, he is insufferable, for another, as much as he was shooting up heroin and other stuff, I seriously doubt he'd be able to hold a coherent thought, much less solve a mystery.

But, to each their own! Doyle had a lot to do with making detective and crime fiction what it is today.My biggest problem with the Holmes mysteries is that they can't be solved. The Mystery of the Sussex Vampire tells you that their was tons of Brazilian tools and stuff, but it never says their was a freaking blow dart.

I like reading my mysteries to try and solve them, and I think Monk had the best mysteries of them all. I do like Christie too, but Monk is what got me into mysteries!

And, I don't know why I didn't include Batman, he is a pretty darn good detective!
