Star, I know what you mean. When I submitted a post that I left open for a while, it was like, ha ha, sorry, everything you just worked on is gone and you've got to log in again.

And Toby, yes that will be nice :)

Luce Avery

"What are you good at?"

I turned over and looked at him. Before I realized it, I was downright staring. Were his eyes always so many shades of blue?

"Luce?" his mouth moved. Blushing, I looked away, casually examining a nail that suddenly sparked my interest. I cleared my throat, trying to find my dignity again.

"Well, traps I guess. Camouflage too...oh, and I'm pretty familiar with plants and herbs. I don't put up much of a fight so I was kind of relying on hiding out most of the time." I made a face. "What about you, Edur?"

I listened to him explain, half paying attention since I was too caught up watching the way his different emotions animated his features.

And just too damn caught up to notice the faint growls and screams not too far from here.

Hey, everyone! Just to let you know, I did the drawing with Jordan Pierre and he will be dying second. So that pushes everyone up after him. Sorry, Jordan P!

Reed Willimon, District 11 female tribute: Health 86 of 100, Hunger 90 of 100, Thirst 89 of 100

As the wolf creature almost tackled her, Reed ducked out of the way. It was big, but slow. She was still in shock when an arrow buzzed by her and struck the beast in the head, causing it to fall over. Thinking the arrow had come from Ryder, she turned around and smiled. But the grin was soon washed off her face when she saw Alen standing in the clearing, prying his bow.

"We can be allies, or I can kill you on the spot," he said casually.

Reed was about to say, "I'd like to see you try," but she closed her mouth. She was supposed to be "weak", after all. She broke Alen's gaze and glanced down at the animal and Rayda's body. There was something wrong. The wolf's chest was still slowly rising and falling. She gasped. "It's not dead," she whispered. "Its scales must have blocked the blow."

Then suddenly Des appeared from behind a tree, a small weapon in hand.

Ryder~

"RYDER! DES!" Ryder heard Reed scream somewhere in the forest. He ran in the direction of the voice. Within a few minutes, he appeared from the bushes. Des and Reed were in the clearing, along with the Tribute from District 8. He points loads his bow and creeps in nervously.

"Reed, are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But look at that cut on your leg, Ryder!" she pointed at his leg.

Ryder in all of his running hadn't noticed the cut on his leg. It had been bleeding steadily for a little bit. He had surely lost a lot of blood.

Kurr, District 11 mentor:

Kurr was sitting next to Fern in the Mentor's HQ, nervously tapping his fingers on his legs. He was watching the wide screen uneasily. Reed had just gotten throught the battle with Rayda, and Kurr was secretly proud of her. She had some good moves. So far, Edur hadn't been into any fights. He was still talking with Luce.

It was almost late evening, and about half of the tributes were dead. It was a little hard for Kurr to hear the mentors around him sighing and crying out when their District kids fell. Thankfully the bloodbath had finally ended.

Kurr gripped the edge of his chair tightly as he gazed at Reed in the clearing. On the positive side, the girl had met up with Des and the Ryder boy, but on the negative side, Alen was there and the wolf creature still didn't seem to be dead. As he watched more closely, he saw that Des and Reed were pointing at the beast. It began to regain strength until it finally stood up. The group of teens in the clearing drew their weapons and backed away.

Kurr sucked in a nervous breath. This was not good.

Oh my gosh guys, I'm so sorry I haven't been on in a while. Thanks for writing me in Star.

Des- District 10

"Reed?" I asked.

I stepped out from the trees into the clearing and saw Reed and Alen, weapons out and ready. A giant wolf-like creature was bleeding on the ground, still alive.

Ryder steps through too, bow poised to shoot.

"Reed, are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But look at that cut on your leg, Ryder!" I looked down and saw the gash stretched across his skin.

Without even really thinking of the danger we were in, I started ripping at the bottom of my shirt. We needed something to cover his wound up. Tying the make-shift bandage around his leg, I looked up.

"Ryder, you don't look so good. We need to get out of here."

"You guys aren't going anywhere," said Alen.

We all looked at the District 8 tribute aiming an arrow in our direction.

"C'mon Alen, I saw you save Reed," Ryder said. "Why kill us now?"

"And like I said before, that thing isn't dead yet. I don't want to be around here when it wakes up," said Reed. She looked ready to head out of the clearing when I tugged on her sleeve.

"We can't leave him alone. We're safer in numbers," I recalled Ilija's words.

Reed looked back at Alen.

Ilija- District 10 Mentor

One of his tributes was down and out and the other was still bleeding from her arm. His kid needed to find some water to clean up fast or risk infection. Ilija watched the screen, studying everything that was going on. Right now Des was in a clearing with a not-so-dead creature, and three different district tributes.

"Come on kid, get moving."

He had a package from a sponsor ready and waiting once they got to the right spot. The sponsor had seen the cut and provided some special meds for Des to heal up.

"Get to safety," I growled, his eyes not leaving the screen.
"Oh please don't tell me you're archaeologists."

"Do you have a problem with archaeologists?"

"I'm a time traveler. I laugh at archaeologists."

"Well I could fix that cut Des I seen a plant just before I started to run that could stop infection and I have a needle and thred I could sow it up" Alen said as he pointed the bow at the wolf and let it go. The arrow hit it in the head again and it finally stop breathing. "Well what do you think Reed do you think we can trust him" asked Des.

Veronica
Veronica looked at Fern with a confused look. " You are sorry. That is the first time I have ever heard that. She was the sweetest girl. She was like my sister. I never wanted to be a mentor. I have to care about them. Then I watch them die. Every single yeah I see them get killed. I try not to care. I do not want to care. Like that would make it easier to see them get murdered. Well it does not. This has been the hardest it has ever been. I want to get all of them out. I do not want any of them to die like this. Ryder is going to look up in the sky and see Sophia dead." Veronica starts to cry, but wipes her tears fast. She sees all the stiff bodies in the room and she knows crying is not going to help anything.
" I don't know if i can take another year of this. Or another second."
" It is the hardest it in life to do . I do not know if there is a way to stop it." Fern says.
" I know there is I just have to think of it."

Edur
11

After listening to Luce explain what she was good at, she turned to ask Edur.
'What about you Edur?"
He snapped out the weird daydream he was experiencing and looked at Luce.
"Oh, ah. I'm pretty fast, and good at climbing trees, but that comes naturally from District 11. I guess I'm pretty good with a knife. Ya'know, with your trapping skills and my climbing skills, we could make some overhead traps."

Edur noticed Luce staring at him, and stared back, before they both heard a noise. It was a rustling, like one earlier when luce found Edur.
"Luce!" He hissed. 'Luce!"
She shaked her head vigorously, "huh? Oh, let's go!"

Malaya Shearvine, District 7 female tribute:
Spoiler
Health: 79/100, Hunger: 99/100, Thirst: 64/100

After the bloodbath, Malaya had managed to snatch a silver axe and a small loaf of bread, which she had already started nibbling on. She had also taken a few other things, but they were lost in a fight at the Cornucopia. She knew she was lucky because she had escaped the field surrounding the starting plates and Cornucopia with only bruises and long cut on the arm. Others had gotten it much worse.

Malaya was jogging through the forest, trying not to move too fast because of her hurt ankle and back. Plus, it was a bit of a challenge to jump and run with a sharpened axe at your side. She easily shuffled her feet around fallen branches and twigs, trying to keep as silent as possible. The woods made her feel back at her District.

She slowed her pace and glanced up at the sky through the lacy leaves of the tree tops. It was already late evening. Her heart sank. She still had yet to find a source of water, and her rough, sandy tongue was begging for it. Once Malaya started jogging again, she noticed her feet were stumbling. She was usually agile and careful with her legs and feet, but her dehydration was beginning to get the best of her. Her world spun a few times, but she shook off the light headed feeling. It only came back.

Finally Malaya crashed to the moist forest floor. Her axe embedded itself in the soft dirt beside her. She laid there, cursing herself for being so stupid. She knew she was better than this. She knew she should keep going. She knew all these things, but her body wouldn't cooperate. So even when two voices, a male and female's, began talking near her, she didn't move.

"Luce. Luce!" a boy tribute said.

Wasn't Luce a tribute's name? Malaya thought, her mind heavy and swimming.

Then realization struck her. If two others find me lying here helpless, I will be dead. They won't think twice about it.

She somehow managed to stand shakily and grabbed her weapon. Malaya stumbled forward, but it was too late. Edur and Luce sprinted from behind a tree, heading somewhere else. The girl prayed they didn't see her, but how could they not?

Here is a list of tributes who have died on the first day, so that way you can include them in the faces of the dead at night:

Girl from 3
Girl from 5 (Malaya)
Boy from 6
Girl from 6
Girl from 9
Boy from 10
Girl from 12

So far, this is what we have. I still don't have an answer from Jordan to see if he is going to die on the first day or not.
This list might grow slightly. Be creative!

Reed Willimon, District 11 female tribute: Health: 85/100, Hunger: 90/100, Thirst: 87/100

Reed stared at the wolf's body and Rayda's, and knew the hovercraft still needed to arrive. "We need to move away just a bit. There could be more surprises like that animal," she started, pointing at the now dead creature, "around here. Plus the hovercraft has to take the bodies." She shivered and glanced at Des. The District 10 girl didn't want to leave Alen, and neither did Reed, but if they took him as an ally Reed could see them winding up with an arrow in the head.

"I'm not leaving," Alen persisted.

Ryder rolled his eyes. "You realize..." he trailed off, thinking better of what he was about to say.

Reed felt bad for Alen, but she had to remind herself that this was not a matter of just becoming friends. This was a matter of life and death. She weighed both options. If this boy joined the group, what could he do for them? He seemed kind of smart, pretty good with a bow. Reed already knew Ryder was talented with a bow, too though. The next question was if he would turn on them. Probably. Reed didn't know him that well.

Now if they let him go, he wouldn't know the District 11 girl's secret of how accustomed she truly is with fighting. He never actually saw her go at it with a sword. Also, Alen didn't seem as big of a threat as one of the Career kids so they could take him on easily right then, or even later.

Reed's mind was filled with so many thoughts, going back and forth with problems if he became their ally, or if the three turned Alen loose.

"Why don't we just kill him?" Ryder asked, studying Reed's expression. "It's three on one. We're wasting too much time." He glanced up at the darkening sky.

"No," Reed and Des said at the same time.

Reed wiped sweat off of her forehead. She looked at Alen. "Put your weapon down, and we'll put ours away." She tried to remain calm, but her voice cracked slightly.

Alen hesitantly lowered his bow, and Ryder did the same.

"You don't see this very often, but Alen, if you go the opposite direction as us and promise not to follow, we'll let you go." Reed pursed her lip, glancing at Ryder and Des. Des nodded in agreement and even Ryder seemed to agree slightly.

"It's the best we can do, Alen," Des said.

"Yeah, it's almost nightfall," Ryder added. "And aren't you already with Luce?"

Alen stared at their faces then replied, "Yes, I'm with Luce."

"Well then go to her. We're giving you a free pass, for Pete's sake!" Ryder sighed. "It's best for all of us if we get a move on."

Reed nodded and waited for a response.

Alen seemed mad, and snorted. He didn't say anything though. The boy fixed his quiver of arrows before taking off from the clearing, disappearing behind a tree. The fading rustle of leaves confirmed his departure.

"Let's move. The sun is setting. We need a safe place to sleep and we need some water," Reed said after a brief moment of quietness.

"We can show the items we have once we find shelter," Ryder added. "There could be more freaky wolves at night."

The trio agreed, still thinking about the encounter with Alen and the beast.
