Fred hears voices in the jail room, "Hush up!" He shouts back there before turning back to his work. The voices die down before resuming seconds later, "I said SHUT UP!" They ignore him.
He storms back there, (is it necessary to say that he has a short temper? :))
He walks up to the young man and, because he's close, grabbs his collar and screams in his face.
"You'd better keep tha' mouth o' yours shut o' else I will be cuttin' yur food amount down by a lot!" He wipes his mouth of the spittle that flew from it before storming away.

Spoiler
Did I make that too easy?

Shay:

Bipolar, much? The jailer pulls me up against the bars, threatening to cut back on my food, and I slip a finger towards the keyring in his jacket, carefully sliding the ruby-colored key out and down my sleeve. He pushes me back, causing me to fall to the floor, and storms away.

With a smile, I glance towards Joe, the key in the center of my palm. Told you.

Joe

"That was smooth" I thought I nod, "Slide it along the floor towards my cell as close as you can." When he does toss it I'm able to grab it off the ground."Sweet" I think. "Now I can get myself outta this place."I start to unlock my leg shackles they installed after my second, failed attempt. But I am confident now that I can finish this escape with Shay's help.

Shay

I watch Joe as she frees herself, patiently waiting either for her to fill me in on the rest of her plan or to come release me.

What if she doesn't?

I blink away the doubt and scold myself.

She will. I almost took a beating to get that key. She owes me. I got her trust.

"What happens after this?" I ask in a hushed voice.

"Well, mainly we wait. We have to wait until the middle of next guard shift. The guards are new and inexperienced and they fall asleep in the middle of their shift. When we sneak out I will disable the alarms and then we will hide outside.Once we are there I will tell you the next part. There is a switch on the bottom of the gate to the cell, if you turn and push it the right way it will open. Don't do it know though. I'll talk you though it later. I will tell you time comes, but you should take a nap so you can rest and be alert. "

I nod and mentally note everything she tells me, laying back on my cot. One question keeps circling my mind as I take Joe's advice. What happens when I get out?

Shaking the question away for a few minutes, I doze off dreaming of a beach somewhere, of my family there, of freedom.

Fred was dozing at the desk...drooling on the phone; when it rings loud and clear in his ear. Fully awake, he picks it up. "Y-yes?" He asks in a slightly shaky voice, still shocked by the loud ring.
It was his boss. "Tighten the security, adjust the cameras, and secure the motion sensers. One of the guards has notices the prisoners communicating a little to much. Unfortunately, they were talking too low to hear; however, I have my suspicions, I always do."
"Yes sir." Fred spoke into the mouthpiece. He put it down and went to follow his orders.

gahhh!!!!

I decided to sleep as well, since I would be doing most of the sneaking that night. I keep on having nightmares about my other attempts and the love of my life Charlie who was dead. The only regret I had was having to speak out loud our plan.. what if they heard our plans?

Haha, sorry about that. I couldn't make it too easy could I? I mean, I pretty much handed you the keys...which I am now looking back on and regretting.

Name: Serena Rail

Gender: Female

Crime commited: Murder which was actually self defense, and robbery
Age: 20

Specialties: Lying, street fighting, weaponry, and photographic memory.

"It's not going to work." I said barely audible "What do you mean?" A female voice snapped sounding likes she just got up the whispering making her voice harsh.
"They're tightening the security ten fold and probably are using the motion sensors." I said still quietly. I heard one of them swear. "What's your name and what are you in for?" The female voice asked. "Serena Rail. I'm in for murder which was actually self defense and robbery." I said coolly. "What system do the motion sensors operate on?" Joe asked after introducing herself. "Coded." I replied. She swore again. "Same with the camera's but if you take me with you I'll get all of us out." I added. "How?" She snapped. "Easy the camera's and motion sensor are made to change every single day and it's whatever the security system they have chooses. One of the guards get's the code and writes it on his hand. I memorized the next few one's." I said coolly. "Alright get some sleep." Joe said. I felt myself grin. "Thanks." I said curling onto my cot.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

"But you have heard of me."

Joe

Joe rubbed her head, things could change so fast in a short amount of time. Now not only she had to rescue herself and Shay but also this woman named Serena. But it could work out for the good in the end. Shay had gotten her the key and Serena the passcode for the alarms. When the time came she would start disabling the alarms and bust them all out of their cells.

Shay

My eyes open and I stretch, standing and walking to the bars. I catch sight of another girl in the cell next to Joe's, a smile planted on her face.

"And who would you be?" I ask, getting the feeling we'd be seeing a lot of each other soon.

Something tells me Joe picked up another accomplice.

"I'm Serena Rail. Are you involved in this escapade as well?" I asked my voice quiet. "Yes I'm Shay. What are you in for?" He asked whispering as well. "Murder which was actually self defense and robbery." I replied calmly. "What about you?" I asked in the same breath. "Major theft, assault of an officer, unintentional second degree murder." He listed off of his fingers. "How is self defense confused with murder?" He asked. I bit my lip thoughtfully wondering how much to reveal then I decided that I should trust him and Joe as well. "They don't count it as rape if he's your husband." I replied calmly. He looked absolutely shell shocked. I looked down at my hands clasped in my lap and started to rub the heels of my hands together in slow circles. "We only have a few more hours you should get some sleep." I said still looking down at my hands. I heard him stand up and go to his cot. I settled back on my heels. I hadn't told another soul what had really happened that night.
