Scarlett waited in the clearing, having been abandoned by everyone else in the search to find Veltra. It was her job to make sure he hadn't died yet and to communicate back and forth with her teammates via ghost messenger. She sighed bored out of her mind.

Smaug stumbled through the forest, crashing through bracken, snapping twigs, and smashing this and that. Or, making a lot of noise...
Smaug slowed down as he heard a voice up ahead, he crouched low to the ground, moved a little closer. Figured out the location of the noise, and leaped. He caught his target square on the shoulders, a shriek escaped the lips of his victim. He grabbed a knife from its pouch on his hip and almost gored someone, he did not intend to. He looked down to an astonished, horrified face of Scarlett. He stopped dead, knife still in hand.
"I'm sorry..."
He tried to lower his hand, but nothing happened. Smaug could do nothing, something was controlling him. His hand plunged downward into Scarlett's chest. Before the knife pierced her though, Smaug used all his strength to move the knife as it swung downward. Instead of killing her, the knife ripped through her shoulder skin, missing the bone. But leaving a deep wound, the stench of blood filled the air. Still not controlling his arm, it reared back again for another strike, but then, another knife entered his hand.
(Someone can jump in to be responsible for the knife. :))

(Let me explain, I was being controlled when I tried to stab Stella. Then someone intervened, I was allowing myself to be stopped. Does that clear things up?)

(I'm going to give it one last feeble attempt)

Ugh, the troll looked over Smaug's shoulder holding a club. He looked very confused and said ,"No.Kill. Why. Not Nice." He started to lumber over to Smaug when Scarlett said ,"No!! Don't he didn't mean to! He was possessed by an evil spirit!" She looked at Smaug and smiled and asked him,"Could you hand me the medicine bag over there? I need to be patched up."

(I'll contribute to the feeble attempt)

Smaug grabbed the bag from the troll, the jerky, crappy troll that smells bad and smashed his skull. He opened the medicine bag and followed Scarlett's orders on how to patch her up. When he was finished, he sat back and looked at her wrapped shoulder, still seeping blood slightly through the bandage.
"It'll do for now; we should find Veltra soon though."
He glanced around the dry forest, then back to Scarlett.
"Can you stand?"
She nodded, stood, held her head high and said, "Lead the way Smaug."
He nodded, and started trudging toward to goblin camp, where Veltra and Nick were.

(Thank you for contributing to the feeble attempt)

Scarlett walked behind Smaug and in front of Ugh. Her right shoulder throbbed painfully but tried not to show it by walking straight and dignified. It scared her to think that an evil spirit would try to posses her friend to hurt her.She needed to find a way to control evil spirits as well as good ones. They needed to find Nick and Veltra soon, they weren't dead. Yet.

(Thebookworm, thank you for contributing with us to the feeble attempt to get the SB going again)

The trees were thinning, just ahead there was a clearing, it had a fire, a prison made out of bamboo...and goblins. Lots and lots of goblins. Smaug silently swore, he could see Veltra and Nicholas, they were in the bamboo prisons, with tons of guards near. He glanced over his shoulder at Scarlett, Ugh, and....Beltang species who'd just joined them.
"We should wait 'till dark, then surround the camp and jump them," he said. "Or we could wait 'till dark, then silently try to break them out. Scarlett, it's your choice."

Beltang surveyed the clearing. "I will go down to the other side of the clearing and distract the goblins with my arrows. It will make it easier for you to rescue your friends." Beltang offered," It would be easy. Goblins are slow and take evener longer to think rationally. Besides, it will be the safeat for you and your injured friend."

"I think the safest way to rescue them is to try to sneak them out.Veltra and I are injured and we won't be able to help in a frontal attack. But if the goblins awake Beltang can use her arrows to kill them while we make a getaway." Scarlett said "After we break them out we can meet at the Silver stream 3 miles west of here."

"Alright, here's a compromise, we will try to sneak them out, if that fails, we will resort to the arrows. Sound good?" He looked at his companions, and Ugh, who whined.
"Don't worry Ugh, if the goblins start attacking, so do you."
Everyone nodded.
"Good. Beltang, you head to the other side of the camp just in case." Beltang sprinted quietly away, Smaug started to creep forward. "Let's get this show on the road, we've got some friends to save, and some bloody idiots to kill."

"We weren't arguing," argued Scarlett but started walking closely to the cages. She watched the goblins guarding the cages quietly. She summoned a ghost to warn the captives that help was on its way and to get ready to fight if needed. She hoped Veltra was ok and she could heal his wounds properly.

You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.
