Murder at Cinderforge

On October 14, two students showed up dead on the campus of Cinderforge University. They had both been shot through the skull and had matching cuts that ran from the tip of their middle finger to their wrist.

Within hours fear spread throughout the campus. It appeared that an old cult started in the first years of the school had re-emerged after nearly forty years of being dormant. Once an entirely Christian college, many religious fraternities had formed to strengthen faith in Christ. However, one fraternity took the message of the Bible too far, and murdered a girl who pretended to be Christian in order to attend the school. Her death was written off by the school as suicide.

The fraternity, now a cult, continued a bloody path for many years. Their secrets were so closely guarded no one but members even knew the true name of the cult. For some time, though, they vanished. Cinderforge believed it was free of them.

Forty years later, Cinderforge has opened its doors to members of any and all faiths. The Cult is out to remind the University they are still there, and to finish what was started nearly a hundred years before.



You are a student at Cinderforge who are somehow connected to the recent murders. Maybe you know something you shouldn't, maybe you're afraid for your life, maybe your sister was a victim of The Cult, or maybe you're a member yourself.

The story starts two days after the murder of the two girls. The rest of the plot is up to you. In the end, all the members of The Cult must be discovered or the school must be closed. Which way the plot goes is up to you.

Name: Samantha Westley "Sammy"

Gender: Female

Age: 20

Appearance: Sammy is five feet five inches tall, has a thin frame, and brown eyes. She wears a little makeup most days and dresses in nice tshirts, jeans, and either boots, sandals, or flip flops. Her nails are always painted.

Connection: She was a very close friend of one of the murdered girls. And, she doesn't know it, but her great uncle was a member of the cult.

Major/Minor: Bachelors Degree in Buisness

Personality: Sammy is thoughtful and reflective, but a generally happy person. She has a more positive view on life, and tries to keep everyone around her happy. She isn't very outgoing, but doesn't mind having conversations with people and can keep one going. She is very organized, if not a little OCD, and keeps her dorm room very clean. Sammy is a little insecure about her own appearance, but likes who she is as a person.

History: Sammy was born in a small town in Conneticut. Her father was a lawyer, her mother was a teacher. She had two sisters, younger, and one older brother. She was closest to her brother, and got in a lot of fights with her sisters. She was pretty well off, and did well in school. Though the family switched houses a few times, Sammy never lived anywhere but conneticut. Her father loved to travel, though, and would bring her along on many of his trips. She applied to many colleges, but everntually decided on Cinderforge because of its reputation as a great school for buisness.

Quirks/ Interesting Facts: She loves bowling, and was on her schools team in high school. She can speak two languages fluently: English and Spanish. She doesn't like most ice cream except chocolate, and has a minor peanut allergy.

Name: Christian Rowland

Connection: Christian has a somewhat strange fascination with murder and has been keeping as up to date on the cases as possible. He writes a blog about crimes, specifically murders, and the two Cinderforge cases are his primary interest. He went to elementary school with one of the victims, but never really new her.

Major/Minor: Minor in Criminology, Master's in Psychology

Personality: Christian is bipolar at best. He has massive mood swings, ranging from social to completely shut in. The only way he can keep his mood up is by keeping busy. He blogs a lot, and spends time reading his textbooks (for fun).

He is lazy. This hinders him a lot. He loves reading his textbooks, but often times, he'll skip assignments because they don't interest him. His professors hate this behavior.

He spends his time partying. This isn't necessarily because he likes parties, but because he loves people-watching. It also gives him something to do and keeps him from growing disinterested with life.

He tends to be moody unless there is something to captivate him. He believes that given a choice, everyone will make the wrong one. He has a very pessimistic outlook on human nature, partially from his childhood, partially from criminology.

Deep down, somewhere in his heart, he has a soft spot for his friends. Subconsciously, his negative attitude is a defense mechanism. It keeps him from caring too much about anything. This stems from inner guilt over his mother's fate.

History: Christian grew up in Cinderforge. His mother died delivering him, and his father developed a bad dependence on alcohol. Christian quickly fell in with the emos and punks. He grew up hating his father because of his neglect.

Christian had fun in highschool. He sandbagged his grades so that people wouldn't expect too much from him. He received low A's and high B's. He spent a great deal of his time reading angsty poetry and skating. He partied more than he studied, but he still found school too simple. After he graduated, he realized that he should have tried harder in school.

As he grew more mature, his relationship with his father was repaired. He still has issues, but he is able to deal with it better. He decided to go to college for a degree in Criminology. Halfway through the four year degree, he decided to pull for a master's in psychology.

Quirks/ Interesting Facts: Christian keeps himself busy by analyzing his friends and peers. These are his happiest moments.

Name: Kortnee Ann McCallon. (Goes by Kori)

Connection: (To the Cult/ Murders) Kori had gone to a school before, where her parents both taught. The Cult came to the school while her dad was on vacation and The Cult killed her mother. Her father though never can back and what she doesnt know is her dad is part of The Cult. She then tried to go back and live with her sister but her sister wouldn't let her parents go. She blamed everything around her, soon her sister blamed Kori going on a killing rampage. Kori left the house and never came back, but she read in the newspaper the next week that her sister was out in a crazy house. Kori never looked back, until she heard about the two new killings, and thought she needs her revenage.

Major/Minor: (What are they studying and what level degree do they want?) Major in Medicine and Mathmatics. Minor in Dancing and Criminlogy.

Personality: (Detailed and realistic please)Kori is always up for adventure, she tends not to talk about any family of hers (she really doesn't act as if her family is all gone). She is outgoing and brutally honest, she is a very loyal friend never talking about people behind their back and never sharing secrets. One quick glance you would think she is really kinda dumb, and a total airhead. But really shes quite smart and is a complete dork (In a good way). She may never be mean to her friends but to people who she doesnt like trust me they know. Shes sweet adn kind to the people who treat her the same way. Just case she looks like a tough girl on the outside she still wants a pair of strong protective arms around her incase The Cult comes for her next...or is that her plan.

History: Since elementary school Kori was intested in math, science and mystery. Often watching the murder mystery shows in tv, and reading mystery stories. She always wanted to tell diseases from looking at someone so she majors in medicine. Before her mother was murdered she lived a normal life style, with her older sister, ofcourse she had her fair share of drama in high school and people that didn't like her, but hey who doesn't have the ups and downs in life.

Quirks/ Interesting Facts: Shes mischievious and confusing, and anytime she is planning some revenage. Many people also think that she has OCD or ADHD, with the energy and organization skills she has.

Up For Love?: If you think you can hadle her

Other: She loves her blue eyes and after getting a little confidense in her attractiveness she will use it to her advantage and planning skills. She loves dancing and playing softball and volleyball.

Elise is 5"7 which makes her tall. She has wavy golden-brownish hair. Sometimes she teases (straightens) it. She likes to wear thick black linings under her eyes. Elise wears very little makeup. She is allergic to some make-up products. Her lips are cherry pink and has a fair and soft skin. She does not have any dress codes. She is simple and casual at her styles and does not wear any heavy accessories.

Connection: Elise is one of those girls who knows almost all the girls in the school. So, she knew both the murdered girls too and, they were good friends. But she never had time to hang out with each other much. She does know one of the secrets to why they died. At least, that's what she thinks that lead them to death.

Major/Minor: Major Photographer. She has got many awards for it too.

Personality: Elise spends a lot of time with pictures and animals. Sometimes, only sometimes, she goes to malls and gets clothes. She likes to stitch most of her clothes. Elise is mysterious and curious about everything and that is one of the reasons she wants to make friends with everyone. Get to know most of their secrets. But she never spreads them around. She likes to keep details about everything. Elise loves hair styling too and enjoys hanging out with friends. She goes anywhere with them.

Elise doesn't like anyone questioning her about something serious. And that maybe about the murder of these girls. She is very secretive and doesn't plan to give out her secrets to anyone until, she thinks the person is to be trusted. She has an ability to know the person's behavior (i.e. good or bad).

History: Elise doesn't live with her parents. She has her own house and started working at the age of 14. Why? Because she didn't like them at all. They were "push-over"'s. They forced her to study every time but, Elise just wanted to live her life. Her friend, Kathleen stays with her. She went to Cinderforge after she had run away from home. She thought that the school was very interesting and had good teachers. All the people there were so weird to her but yet, she loved them. Elise then, got a camera as a birthday present from Kathleen and after that day, she has never lost her love for picture-taking. She went to coaching classes and then she went to the best photograph Uni ever. She got high grades and got a degree there. Elise loves wine and the main reason for going to parties is to drink wine. She also loves ice-skating and skateboarding..

Quirks/Interesting Facts: She has many pictures of Cinderforge and her friends. And the best part is, one of the pictures are related to the murder.

Connection: (To the Cult/ Murders) Marcus has been a member since his first year.
Major/Minor: (What are they studying and what level degree do they want?) Physics major, he wants to acquire a doctorate and research quantum physics. He has a minor in Religion and Theology.
Personality: (Detailed and realistic please) Marcus can be described as a very nervous person. He has always been paranoid, and has had frequent bouts of insomnia because of his worries. Marcus worries about his achievements especially, which makes him a very driven person. He's also very concerned with what people think of him, and attempts his best behaviour and appearance at all times. When interacting with others, Marcus is often very fake. He's lost the capacity to be genuine in compliments. He's a weak debater, but has always been excellent in the sciences.
History: The cult had been dormant for a while, and Marcus' brother, who graduated last year, had joined for fun. When Marcus entered the college, his brother was pressured to make him join, though Marcus was all too willing. Marcus is the youngest in his family, and has two older sisters aside from his brother. His parents live in a cozy house an hour away in the country.
Quirks/ Interesting Facts: He is a quirky fellow. He developed a habit when he was about 8, before going to sleep he walks around his room three times.

Connection: (To the Cult/ Murders) Alois was one of the main contributors to the rebirth of the cult. Though he is not the leader, he is extremely high in the echelon. Although he is extraordinarily informed and connected, with huge influence, it is unsure whether he really knows who the actual leader is. He is not in the cult because he believes in its values, he is in it for personal gain and is using his advanced position in order to manipulate large groups of people.

Major/Minor: (What are they studying and what level degree do they want?) He entered the school early on a scholarship and is looking at, in the long run, a Doctorate in Political Science and Sociology with a minor in Comparative Government.

Personality: (Detailed and realistic please) Alois has a very complex personality. Much of the time he displays a very mediagenic, outgoing personality much suited to the field of politics which he strives for. He acts optimistic, analytic and overall, extremely caring. He is known to be a pacifist who is extremely interested in global balance. Deeper down, he can be extremely calculating and cold, and it can be seen that most of his motivation is based on self-service. He looks at life as a game of cat and mouse, and his role is that of the cat, regardless of who any of the other players are. Towards people, initially he will act very amiable, but if he notices that they could be useful to him, he will change his personality based on what he's trying to access.

History: Alois excelled in history and English and, through self-motivation, became advanced enough in politics and law that he was able to test into the College he is at now at age 17 and immediately begin advanced research and studies. Nothing is known of his childhood or how he became involved with the cult. Though he is a frequent church goer, mainly for show, he is not a religious fundamentalist or radical. His ties to the leader of the cult most likely developed due to his networking skills and his ability to advance the cult's influence further than it ever could have gone. He herself has a goal that he wants the cult's actions to eventually achieve, which may or may not contradict with the actual motivations of the cult.

Quirks/ Interesting Facts: He is a part of the Zeta Zeta Epsilon fraternity, an academic group founded upon their shared interest in undercover journalism. He also appears to be rolling in wealth, although the source of the money is not clear.

History: After her parents death when she was 8, she helped the police with the murdur case. It was then and there that she chose to become a PI (Private Investigator) when she was finished school. Now, 10 years later, she is living her dream and is a junior investigator between 5pm and 6am. No sooner had she started than there was a murder. Unfortunatly, she was a witness. Now she must solve this case before she is next.

"Sammy, get up." As I shifted into conciousness, I felt someone poking at my ribs. "Sammy get up."

Maybe if I don't respond, they'll think I'm still sleeping. It made sense in my head, until my sheets were ripped off me and chill spread through my body.

I opened my eyes to find my roomate standing over me with a sheepish smile, "I bought you a present." She handed me a bag of gummy sharks, my favorite candy, and a teddy bear.

"Sorry to wake you up, but I think Millie's parents are coming in like an hour." She helped me get out of bed, and I slipped into the shower to wake myself up.

I tried not to think about Millie. I didn't want to think about the face of the prinipal as he told us what had happened. I wanted to wake up and find it was all a nitghtmare.

I started crying, and the tears ran until the shower water got cold.

I walked into my first period class, my fingers twirling around the necklace Millie's parents ahd given me. It would have been a present for Millie. A small diamond cross with a gold chain. It was obvious how little they knew their daughter. Millie was an athiest, though a gentle one. She wouldn't have worn the necklace anyway.

I took a seat next to a guy who was burried in his notes, and tried to forget about my friend for even a moment.

I'll pretend Marcus is the one buried in his notes, for the sake of... something or other.

I sat inmy first class, the only one I had that day, actually. I liked to make a habit of reading over what I'd written the last day before class begun. Call it a habit, more like a compulsion. But nevertheless. Satisfied that I knew the stuff, I glanced at the girl next to me. She had the downturned mouth and vaguely pink eyes of someone who'd been crying, but was still sad.

I cursed myself for doing it, but I turned to the girl and asked, "Hey, you okay? You've got a sad sort of," I made a waving motion, "thing going on."

I sat down in my criminology class, in the back, right-hand corner seat, closest to the window. I started to drift off and suddenly it was like I was back there, at the scene of the crime. Back where my nightmares began. I am walking through the corridors and suddenly there was a scream. A girl's scream, then a second. Who is that? I ask myself. I walk towards the scream and see there are 2 kids with knives and they look like they are trying to murder the 2 girls! The vision started to fade. I realise that I had been crying.
"You need to get a hold of yourself girl!" I mutter to myself.
