Hi! And to the other two members to join very soon (and hopefully more!).
We need a strategy. Like, even though we're greatly outnumbered, something decent. Since the reviews are averaged per member, if we each did a phenomenal amount of reviews, when it would be averaged, we'd each have a phenomenal amount of reviews per member. If I understand correctly. Obviously, it's the point of the whole challenge. But each person has to play their part or else it wouldn't help or be very fair.
Yep, that sounds like the main thing at hand here - review, review, review. But I'm a little confused. (Don't mind me; I just joined like less than a week ago.) Are we just totaling up the number of reviews in general, or are we averaging up the characters? I would think that we would measure up how many words we used instead of just reviews, 'cause that would be more fair. (To me, at least. I'm a sucker for longer reviews...iunno, it irks me. >.>)
Well, anyways. I bet you people already started on this and is secretly waiting for the event to start. XD I say we should all spread out and, well, aim for as many reviews as we can. Like Lavvie said, we all have to do this to make this at least a little fun. Maybe we could look at the poetry section. It might be easier. (Might. I have no experience here.) Or look at the older, less loved stories if you don't know what to review? Or go on a review rampage. Sounds fun.
It's great you're so eager to review and yet you've just joined!
Of course, quality reviews are always better. Once I get going, I could write more than a few nice reviews in some time. We do have ten days after all!
You could review poetry if you wanted. I'm not going to because I don't have decent reviews for poetry. Also, I suggest you don't pull up old old things. Eliminate the new things first
Oh, yeah, I used to do this kind of stuff in other sites. I just never found a community like this one before. I dunno, reading other people's work is interesting. XD
I don't know how everybody else reviews, but when I review, I pull up Notepad and make notes of the story. Like, I list all the little slips and add personal thoughts and opinions as I go along. It's so much easier than reading the story then reflecting back on it, and it saves time, too. Just a suggestion. It's especially handy in longer works. (:
Yup, we're like... greatly outnumbered and we really need to rack up the reviews fast. My suggestion would be to divide and conquer. For example: If someone's more comfortable in reviewing poems other than short-stories, then let that person handle it. If someone's comfortable reviewing any piece of work, then by all means, review review review! And it would be great if we all had a personal goal to follow. Also, let's individually decide how many reviews each of us must complete in a day and accomplish it so that we'll be efficient and also make a killing while we're at it.
Carina, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and spirit! I'm glad someone like you is on the team. And you've given some very valuable suggestions too. I'm looking forward to seeing how well we do. I'll definitely give it my all! *does warm-ups* I'm sure Lavvie's going to do her best! So best of luck to you all! And hopefully the other few members who are going to join us as well
That is a fantastic idea, Murt! I know I'm going to be reviewing mostly short stories of any genre. And a few things in the novels area, perhaps.
So, what about you two? And a review goal would be great. For me, I think I'll try for three or four reviews a night (when I'm most online), more or less. That's about 30 to 40 reviews over the ten day period.
Hah, thanks Murt! (If you don't mind me calling you that.) Glad I could help.
I'll most likely conquer the fantasy novels section. I might take a jab at sci-fi, and I might float over to the short stories. I'm going to stay between those boundaries since anything else might take twice as long.
A review goal, of course! We should all aim for at least one per day. Anything more is a juicy bonus. But for my goal, I'll try to aim for at least three a day. If all four of us reach our goals (assuming the last member joins us...which will happen because we're cool like that) and we all aim for at least three a day, we'd get 120 reviews! Oh, man. That's a lot of reviews.
*cracks knuckles* I think we have a good shot at this.
I'm going to be reviewing any piece I can get my hands on. I'm aiming for at least five reviews a day. The mod team have got lots of members so if each of them does a review a day, they'd catch up instantaneously. Best of luck.
And don't forget, have fun while you're at it as well ;D
Remember everyone, it's done by review average so every mods review is equal to less than one of yours. In other words, don't worry about the size of the teams, it's the effort as a whole that counts.
