Your Writing Resolution

Hey YWS-buddies.

Liking the new YWS, aren't you?

Alright, so you must have heard people declaring the things they'll like to change about themselves or add in to their lives on New Year. But as a writer's community lets do things a bit differently.

We will have our resolutions but you've got to think and write a resolution you'd like to make regarding your writing. Anything you wish to write, something you wish you'd never to or of course the oath of completing a novel this year. Anything related to writing.

So take over guys and write what your WRITING RESOLUTION is going to be.

To begin with, I'd like to speak first.

My writing resolution for the new year, 2012 is to not 'force write'. That's a term for when you''re in no mood to write, but a bug keeps on yelling and forcing you to write. It has happened with me many times when I write not because I want to but because I feel I need to.

So no more 'force writing'. I'll not torture my writing soul. xD!

Well...

Mostly I'd like to focus my dabblings in poetry this year. I'm tired of feeling my poetic side being so muffled by my fear of writing terrible poetry. xD

Secondly, I'd like to --for once-- finish a story I start! Maybe participate in NaNo. I shall crush NaNo with my mad story writing skills by the end of 2012.

I suppose there's not much else I wish to resolve as far as my writing habits. c:

Work on my analytical writing skillz. For da GRE, yoz.

Besides that, maybe write at least a poem.

--To finish my current project.

--To write two short stories a month after my June exams. That should be about twelve before the year's end; 12+2012.

--And to quote SmylinG and former-Lav, I need to work on my poetry so much more.

--to finish a novel, prepare it for publication, and start sending queries

To finish at least one full-length novel.

To write the crappiest romance novel I can.

To delve myself completely into short story writing and maybe even tread the waters of writing a novel. And maybe try experimenting more with poetry and applying more technique and style into my poems.

Ehem. No.

1) To get off my lazy butt and edit my novel so that it's no longer so ugly and first draftish.
2) To actually take part in NaNo this year.
3) To sort out my phrasing and sentence construction in writing. It's currently foul and often very awkward.
4) To write another novel.
5) Speaking of writing another novel, I want to write a happy one... Never really done one of those before.
6) Cat.

My writing resolution is to show more than I tell. I would like to use dialogue more, describe things more, and build up suspense. I also would like to free myself from judgment.

God, trying poetry tops the list. I didn't write poetry in my wishlist mostly because I wanted to speak of the resolutions which I know I can fulfill...lol

As for showing and not telling, Moon, I think you should read this It really helps. Besides, if you need help Internet's there and I would love to help you out.

To finish- no start - my novel. To stop planning (i.e. procrastinating) so much.

Write something worthwhile and write from the heart.

Finish a novel or at least successfully finish one on Nanowrimo. ^^
