Really want to know what you guys think, I'm starting to write this and wanted a cover for inspiration. I just used Photoshop CS3.
The most wondrous sight I've ever seen is the sight of the sun in the sky.We are some of the lucky few who are allowed to exist; does that not make it all worth it?
Really interesting! If I saw this on a shelf I would defiantly want to pick it up and see what is inside! I can't really put a word to it but there is something about it that's intriguing....
"But death and darkness in that instant closed the eyes of Argos, who had seen his master, Odysseus, after twenty years...."
Thanks guys, but I was wondering how I could improve it?

It's really good, don't get me wrong, but it's a little plain. If you look through abstract art on something such as google images I think you could get a lot more inspiration for the background. Don't make it too bright of course, we still need to see the foreground but it's lacking that little something. Let me know when you start posting the book, or if you're ever free to try and do cover requests, I could use your skills! Icy
OMG, I love the description of the story! It's like "Text text text text..." THAT'S AWESOME!
xD No, I'm kidding. I like this, and I agree that it's simple but I quite like it how it is because its simplicity actually attracts me. I like how the whole cover (front and back) follows the same theme and doesn't have irrelevant components like random images for example. I like the planet on the front and this tell me that the story is probably about a whole other world - it's a sci-fi, right? Just guessing...
Well, I'm not much of a Photoshop artist but I hope this helps!

It's going to be more of a sci-fi/fantasy. A sci-fantasy.
Thanks for all the great comments so far, guys!

I really like this, it's probably one of the better photoshop covers that I've see around the site. I like the simplicty but also the splashes of blue here and there that stop it slipping into boring.
If you are looking for ways to improve it I would probably say that maybe it has a little bit too much dead space. I like the black but perhaps it is a little too sparse. All it would need is like a smatter of stars across the front cover to stop it being such a void.
But other than that I really like this. Good job! Keep it up!
