I'm going to the end of the festival to reveal the assignment, but if anyone needs to do something before that, just go ahead and do it :) Forget chronological order, pssh.

"There's... a certain mage causing trouble in the area. So far, there have been some major magical items stolen all over the country. Some other guilds have been sent after them, and you've been assigned to retrieve one of these. It's called Myth's Lock," Kurosaki began her talk.

Sky raised her hand, "I've heard of that!"

Yu nodded. "It used to reside in a museum around here. People thought it was dormant, and it's power all used up, but they've been shown differently."

Dragon was there, and he cocked his head and licked his lips. "What's it do?" he asked in his slightly slurred, careless voice.

Yu glanced at him. "I don't remember calling your name for this mission."

Dragon shrugged, stuffing his hands into the pocket of his jeans. Inching closer to Knight, he said, "While I’m here, I’m not leaving this person.” He bumped against Knight. She almost toppled over, having spent more energy than usual that day and wanting one of her naps.

A smile played at Yu’s lips, and she turned to continue.

“Look, children, I need to be honest with you. The country... the higher-ups... they’re not telling you everything. Stay away from whoever is collecting all of these. They’re very bad, and very powerful – not a good combination. I want you all home safe, so I’ll say it again. Retrieve the artifact, which is probably with some weaker enemies, and come home immediately. Do not face the person behind all this. Is that understood?”

The gang nodded, though rather reluctantly. They couldn’t recall the last time they were given a direct order from Yu, which made it all the more significant.
Oh, I wish I was punk-rocker with flowers in my hair.

Mia hesitated slightly before nodding. Yu seemed concerned, they must be facing some pretty powerful people, and Yu said they'd probably only be the weaker ones. She frowned slightly, if Yu was sending out the strongest in the guild these must really be something. It made her feel uneasy, she'd have to fight, and everyone knew how much she hated even the idea of it.
"So Master, shall we take tonight to prepare and leave in the morning?" Knight asked.
"Yes, take tonight but this needs to be completed quickly. They're up to something and Myth's Lock is probably part of it. We need to get it back before they cause any real damage," Yu replied, nodding her head.
'Are you saying Ni to that old woman?'
'Yes'
'Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history'

Sky was practically bouncing off the walls she was so excited. It had been a long time since she had last gone on a mission. She couldn't believe that she was being sent on one and with many of the other powerful people from her guild. It will be so much fun she thought. As Sky peered expectantly at her friends looking for other faces of excitement she noticed one didn't look as happy as she figured it should have looked. “Hey Mia aren't you excited to go on this mission?” Sky asked Mia who wasn't looking to well. “Yeah I'm excited to go it's just......” Mia replied. “Just what?” Sky didn't really understand why Mia wouldn't want to go. “I just don't want to have to fight anyone.” “Don't worry we have a lot of the strongest people in the guild coming with us we'll be fine!” Mia shook her head at Sky “That's not it I just don't want to have to fight.” “Oh” Sky said, “Well if you get in trouble I'll fight and protect you!” Mia just laughed “Sky I don't think that will be necessary.” At this moment Master Yu walked over to the two girls “Shouldn't you two be resting up so you can leave tomorrow morning.” “Oh yeah!” Sky said “ but I think I'm to excited to sleep!” she said giggling. None the less Mia, Sky, and everyone else called for this mission slowly dispersed to go make preparations for the next day. Sky couldn't help but feel like something was wrong. Mia seemed so unsure and Master Yu was uneasy. Surely something was up.

It's been a while since I posted as Syca. Hey, Dai? After this is over, why don't we take part in the Grand Magic Games tournament? We'll be able to meet up with the FT members then. :)
Oh, by the way, I decided to name the panther Kuro. XD

Syca
Syca felt disturbed. She was sure that Aeo had lost for a reason. The guy was stronger than most mages. Even stronger than her, if she could unlock her full potential once more.
She could still remember the trauma of being called a witch...
She shook her head, clearing it of the black thoughts that threatened the bright festival mood.
That was, until the guild master summoned them.

“I’m sorry for calling you all out,” she began, “but this couldn’t wait. We’ve had a request from the higher-ups in this area, and Lord knows how they get when we take too long to assemble a team.”

The guild members shuffled, wanting to get back to their stalls. Pink-haired Sky cried out from the crowd, “But what could be so important that they need us this minute?”

“They don’t,” Kurosaki replied. “They think themselves too important, and this will take some preparation. I’ll choose the team now, and you can all finish out the festival and head out tomorrow. Will Mia, Syca, Raiden, Sky, Hiroshi and Ryuu, Aria, Sparki, Knight, Aeo, and Blade please see me? The rest are free to go.”

She told them about the mage who'd been troubling the villages surrounding the guilds for a while now. She knew the talws of the Myth's Lock from her own hometown.. it was not to be trifled with.

She looked around at her guildmates, noticing that even Sky looked uneasy. She gathered Kuro in her arms, saying, "Come on Kuro. We need to go girl.. Let's go rest."
Sh smiled at her cub's antics, but in her mind, she felt the worry and fear that was in the minds of most of their guildmates. What was Mistress Kurosaki afraid of?
"Married to music - 'nuff said."
"Freedom is everything to me."

"Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?"

New character! Hate that my profile is so barren right now, but I just needed to post so I don't forget again and I wanted to read through the pages first to see what type of char would fit in nicely Let me chew on this a bit, and I'd try to rally up a nice profile :)

Please forgive me for posting so late Dai! I really hope you like it :D

Raiden

Raiden watched Yu walk off with curiosity. The rest of the guild were talking amongst themselves, most were looking apprehensive, with the exception of Sky. He smirked seeing the eagerness on her face. The little pink-haired girl truly was one of a kind.

“Well, good luck!” smirked Lance, as he approached where Raiden was standing. “By the look on Yu’s face I have a feeling your gonna need it ...”

“Pfft...” Raiden scoffed, lifting the collar of his robe smugly, “keep your luck. This is going to be a piece of cake.”

“Ha!” Lance shook his head in disagreement. “Haven’t you heard the stories? This … Mage,” he swallowed hard as if even saying the name was difficult, “… he’s done some pretty nasty things since he’s come onto the scene. Some people say he even makes blood sacrifices in order to please the dark forces-”

Raiden chuckled. “I think you’ve been listening to too many of your grandmother‘s bedtime stories …”

“I’m serious, Rai!” Lance snapped in agitation. “Don’t take this mission light-heartedly.”

“I won’t,” Raiden winked. “Now, if you‘ll excuse me …” he began, rubbing his hands together excitedly. “It’s time for me to rally the troops …” He strode over to a raised platform and climbed on top to address the rest of the guild. “If I could have your attention gentlemen … and ladies,” he added quickly after receiving an annoyed glare from the girls. The rest of the conversations going on began to die down.

“As Yu has just said we’ve got until tomorrow morning to prepare for this mission which gives us just under four hours. Now, our best chance of retrieving this object is to use our time wisely and come up with some sort of plan of action. We need maps, horses, supplies for the journey, and most importantly we need to know more about this ‘Myth‘s Lock‘. The more we know about it, the easier it will be to locate. Does everyone here agree?”

"I wonder, I do so wonder, where that girl had achieved such great power." Aeo thought aloud. "For it is as if another angel has blessed her with strength, as if a feather has gifted her sparkling flight." Once again, Aeo peered upon the Guild. He had heard what the mission was and smirked at the thought. Myth's Lock had been created by his father for a plethora of reasons. It also contained enormous power, this was certain. It even contained enough power for Aeo to overthrow the kingdom... "If I could only get my hands on it..." Aeo trailed off in thought as he joined the other guild members, cheerfully exclaiming, "I'm ready when you guys are!"
"At this very instant, I augment the spacetime that permeates and weaves our beings."

Hiroshi was a little spooked inside at mention of the Myth's Lock. Back at his village, his father claimed the Myth's Lock was a terrible omen. The poverty of his home-village was too much for Hiroshi to discuss, even to Ryu.
The little silver hatchling climbed up to Hiroshi's shoulder and playfully whipped the nape of his neck with its tail.
Hiroshi gave Ryu a berry, then joined the others. "If anyone needs someone with Card magic, I'm the one for the job. I know my cards, but I must warn all of you that my Tarot deck may have some unwanted effects on other people." He glared at Raiden. "And if I hear you can my hatchling a mutt behind my back, I'll use one of my cards to seal your mouth shut. Where ever I go, the hatchling goes with me. No objections. Do I have to spell it out to you or have I made myself clear?"

"No, no," Mia smiled quickly. "It's fine if Ryu comes along too." She edged towards the hatchling and cautiously patted its head, still smiling slightly. The young dragon glared at her slightly but didn't seem to object too much.
"Anyway, I'm off," she giggled, turning to leave. "After all I can't lie in tomorrow!"

Even before she got to bed Mia knew that she would barely sleep tonight. She lay awake staring at the ceiling, wondering how dangerous this mission would really be. . .
'Are you saying Ni to that old woman?'
'Yes'

The train rumbled along the tracks and the monotonous click click click was enough to lull several of the younger team members to sleep. Meanwhile the others were up and talking about the mission.

"Myth's Lock... I still don't quite understand it," piped up someone. Dragon, leaning against a sleeping Knight, cracked open an eye.

"I've heard of it, on my abroad missions," he said in a raspy voice. "Someone once said it had the power to lock a mage's power."

Hiroshi stroked Ryuu and fed him a berry. Sky and Blade stirred in their sleep, leaning against each other and Aria, who was listening intently. Aeo was quiet, looking out the window.

"How do we even begin to find it?" asked Mia.

"Start looking, I guess..." Syca pondered. She glanced at the angelic-looking boy who was lost deep in his thoughts.

Aria, the newest to the guild, spoke quietly, "I think we're almost there." Her voice was beautiful, attributed to her magic-type, and she placed a hand each on the pink-haired girl and blue-haired boy leaning against her.

Dragon scoffed, "I hope this thing is awake by then," he said, pointing to Knight, "or my back is going to break."
Oh, I wish I was punk-rocker with flowers in my hair.

Hiroshi made sure he packed up plenty berries for this trip. He knew from personal experience that Ryu often nipped at him if the little hatchling didn't have anything to eat from time to time. He had the scars on his arms and fingers to prove it. He fiddled with his cards and found himself rather bored. He shuffled his cards, then fanned out the deck. "Ryu, whose fortune shall we foretell?"
The little hatchling pointed at Hiroshi with its tail.
Hiroshi flipped all three cards in order. His past was the Chariot, meaning his conquest and unsurpressed willpower. His present was the Hierophant, meaning he was still learning and experiencing more. His future, to his disgust, was the Hermit, meaning he would be alone for the rest of his life. He hated that card. He didn't want to be alone. Of all the cards in his deck that would show him his future, why did it have to be the Hermit? His future as a lone must not come to pass. He wouldn't allow it.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.

The train slowed and halted at the platform.
"Guys, we're here," Mia smiled looking around at her friends. "Oh and someone has to wake Knight up." She smiled a little more as she stood up. "And it won't be me."

"Not me," Sky added quickly as she also stood up. Mia grabbed her bag from her seat and quickly began exiting the train.
"You guys'll have to hurry," she laughed, watching as her remaining guild members glanced at each other. None of them wanting to end up having to wake Knight.

Eventually Dragon sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Hey, Knight? Knight? Come on wake up," he whispered, nudging her softly. "We're here . . ."
'Are you saying Ni to that old woman?'
