Hey I'm new, and I don't actually know anyone here.. Help me out? I'm so interested in reading everyones work, and don't know where to start with my own. I moved country with my family a year ago, and I want to get back into writing in English as literature was always my favorite subject and I speak a different language now. I miss writing! Thanks, Taylor
Hey there Taylor! Yay! I'm the first one to welcome you! I hope you enjoy yourself on here and feel free to ask any questions if you need help. Just send me an PM! Here there are all sorts of things you can do, not only post your literary pieces but you can also take part in discussions and games and things. Which languges do you speak, now that you've moved to a new country? Could it be one of these languages : If so, come and talk with us here! What type of things do you write? Poetry? Prose? Drama? Are you an artist? *Curious face* I'd like to know!!!
Ok so I hope I'll see you and your work around and that you enjoy yourself! Happy writing!
when she needs to shelter from reality she takes a dip in my daydreams
Hi Taylor! Welcome to YWS, I'm sure you'll love it here and although we're all slightly strange we don't bite - I promise! Well... except for Skins. She's scary. I wish I could speak more than one language! Technically, I study French and Spanish but I'm no good at them. It's scary really. If you need anything feel free to post on my wall or send me a pm. I'll be happy to help! I look forward to seeing you around the site! Icy
Everyone has pretty much set up the rules and what now, but I'll offer my assistance out as well in case others are busy. I can speak English, Vietnamese, and Japanese, though I'm not so good at the Asian languages.
If words are just letters put together, why do we decide on what they mean?
Hey there Taylor, and welcome to Young Writers Society! My name is Heather, but your free to call me anything you want (I'm often called Arris, Arrish, Fire, etc).
To get started posting your own writing, click the “Submit” tab. If you want to read other works or critique, go to the “Discover Works” tab and find a category that you'd like to look at. It might take awhile to learn it all, but you'll likely get used to it! ^.^ Feel free to let me know if you ever have any questions or want any critiques – I critique just about anything. Below are a few things that I suggest you look at, so that way you understand the rules of the site and you can also get any help you need.
Questions and Answers – Like the other two, this is great to check out. You can ask questions here and get help from other members, or you can help members later on. You can also look at previously asked questions. =D
The Knowledge Base – This is another great place to check out. You can see several guides and tips regarding writing, and post your own with the approval of a moderator. =]
Now that we got that out of the way, I have questions for you!
Where are you from? What is your favorite food? Favorite animal and color? Do you have siblings or pets?
Anyways, welcome to the site, and I hope things go well for you. As I mentioned earlier, you are free to private message me for anything you need. =D
Good luck, have fun!
~Heather

Hi, Taylor! Welcome to YWS! It's so awesome to have met you.
How exciting to move! It kinda has its ups and downs, but it's still an adventure nonetheless. Not many people can talk about their experience in moving! It's always a fun conversation when it comes up with me.
So what kinds of things do you write? Poems or stories? Scripts maybe? Or lyrics? Or articles?! *goes on* So many possibilities. I'm actually a fiction writer, sometimes dabbling in scripts. Not much of a poet, though I enjoy reading them immensely. Same with lyrics! I prefer fantasy stories, but lately, I've been branching out into other genres like historical or romance. Usually historical romance! XD
YWS is the place for you if you want to get into more English writing. In fact, you could practice other languages too! We have a few language forums under Community at the top. Maybe there's a forum there you can check out! They're brand new to the site, so don't be afraid to participate there.
