This was really nice! Have you read the novel? Only the first cover really relates to something in it. If I had to give one criticsm it would involve your choice of font/colour/size/positioning. Other than that you've done it really well. Is the second one a separate cover? Good luck in the contest!
The first one is a beautiful picture. The second one is... too American-ish for me. Seeing red, blue, and white (yellowish) in that style instantly makes me think of Obama and politics. However, I do raise the same question, is one a back cover and the other a front? Or are they two seperate entries. It is a bit wierd to have Native American related art-work on the front, but then egyptian related art-work on the back. The text in the second one is also a bit difficult to read.
If words are just letters put together, why do we decide on what they mean?
I really like the first one but I guess the second one tells you more, what with the dream-catcher and the dove. The first one seems...eerie which creates a sort of curiousity in me, making me want to discover what mystery the cover hides but the second one gives me an idea of the story. That is not a bad thing, it also grabs me. I can't decide :/ If you were putting both for the contest, I wounldn't even kbow which one I'd pick! Both are really nice!
