@alliyah I heard your battle time taunting
and I am not one to shy from a dare!
A poetry war is admittedly quite daunting
but my frightful rhymes will leave you all scared.

I shall use this page as my simile sling,
and my words, metaphorical boulders.
I'll rise above all as the queen (not the king)
as my imagery slowly grows bolder.

Imagine this image: me, winning this war,
leaving you speechless and poemless.
It's the type of fight where there's no gore,
though figurative skeletons shall all be left boneless.

So there, poet friend, I have responded --
your victory has now been postponed (perhaps forever).
But do not fear, don't feel too despondent,
someone else can still win if they're even more clever!
When you're faced with something you don't understand, I think the most natural thing but also least interesting thing you can be is afraid.

No, I'm afraid you have not won,
@alliyah, my foe.
This battle has not yet begun,
For a new poet has joined the show!

I'll write with full passion,
I'll aim my pen as a crossbow.
As a warning: All poets take action,
And they'd better answer by tomorrow!
I have a lot of time on my hands. . .

Dear poetry ranger and pal, @whatchamacallit and
eager young poet @TheWarriorMingan,
did you think that in my absence you had won?
it seems that this poetry battle is not quite done.

While your poems both had their wit,
I won't quit, this flame of war has just been lit!
I call forth all poets to come wielding rhymes,
come with your iron forged metaphor and battle cries!

If you think you have the words, then let them loose!
Don't think you'll get by easily with silence of truce -
no this poetry battle will rage on far longer than this day
but perhaps to summon the troops they'll need a quick tag...

Calling the poets of olde! @Hannah, @niteowl, @PenguinAttack
will you come and write verse, or is your armor cracked?
Perhaps I'll call out the rest of the poetry crew;
@Meshugenah, hatch, Lim, @starlitmind and @Plume too -

Do you have what it takes, or shall you cower in fear
if you won't battle with rhyme then victory may be near!
Who else shall I call, to summon to battle with poetry?
@Chikara, @BluesClues, @Buranko, @Arcticus, @fortis, or @kattee?

Surely someone has what it takes to rise to the challenge -
or maybe this poetry battle is more than any can manage.
Before you go off though, one more word I have to say that's true;
the person I challenge to battle, dear reader, it's actually you!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

When will these amateur rhymers finally learn some respect?
They try to rouse me from my sleep with their rhymes imperfect
I never asked for this battle I received an invite
But now that I'm in it, y'all are finished, so just pass me the mic
You either worship something higher than yourself or end up worshiping yourself

Ah! A long time ago my wisdom
Has surpassed mortal boundaries,
That is why, never have I expected to leave from,
My incredible dome of schemes.

Beware! My tongue is slick, my understanding is vast,
None of you shall be my opponent,
I will destroy poetry if I must,
And give you all eternal disappointment.

Disappointment? Yes!
For your lack of skills,
May I be your guest
To fight you on the Poetry Hills ?!

I will answer your call to arms, I guess,
though winning or losing -- I couldn't care less!
If it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get,
and this stanza-filled forum I shall beset.

six months long, this thread rested,
you thought the foe had fallen
but like a bird strong from a winter well-nested
this faint echo of July's rhyme does now embolden

so alas here I have arrived! here I am
risen and ready to fight line to line.
do not underestimate the call to poetry jam,
if you've been waiting to join... here is your sign!

will any answer the call,
or have I finally won this fight?
will the other poets cower or stand tall?
will any join in arms and attempt to rhyme or write?
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return
