Pig gif animation for Snoink's contest

It's been a workweek! Plus I'm trying to get a comic book penciled before July ends! However I wanted to enter something into the contest because pigs are cool. This little piggy did jumping jacks

Haha, this made me laugh. Its really simple and real looking, in the sense that its not perfect. I think it would have been really cool if it did a few other things, maybe if we saw the front of the pig and he made funny faces everytime his arms came up or down. But overall, I think its neat =]

Nice drawing. In my opinion, you should've colored the pig in. And centered it. Maybe add a funny caption, have a thought bubble think something witty..?

Aw! Cute! I bet this took a really long time huh? I'm a terrible, terrible artist but I think this is really cute I agree with everyone else who thinks this should be colored. I don't know why but I just love how it looks like the ears are flapping Great job!

You know the only thing that'd be better? Watching a pig doing any other kind of exercise xD

I was mesmerized after looking at this! I just couldn't pull my eyes away. Up & down, up & down, up & down... Well, if that's what you wanna call those movements lol

But really, what's up with his legs?? I mean, it looks like they're just spazzing out of control o-o' His tails' also doing some funky stuff..

Y'know, if you look at this from a different angle, it looks so wrong... Naughty pig... That's why you should always draw animations facing towards you.

This is so cute though, even for a constantly shape-shifting pig attempting to do jumping jacks.

Have you tried looking at this gif with like, Bodega Girls or some other indie/pop/electro music on? I did by accident right now and it's a few times more ridiculous than it normally looks. Try it.

I thought this was a really cute gif and I can assure you Snoink will love this. This is a really interesting take on a pig, I love how you have made it do jumping jacks and the simplicity of this. It did make me laugh and I do think it is extremely cute I also love it's cute little tail bouncing up and down with it's arms! But I do have a few improvements for you so that you can possibly win the contest (I am already pretty sure that you will be placed!) Okay so here I go with my pointers and nit picks!

Firstly, I hate to say this but at first I didn't know that this was the back of the pig. I just thought this was the front of the faceless pig. I did quite quickly gather that it was the back of the pig but it is still not a very good first impression of your really quite excellent gif If you have enough time on your hands then you should probably try defining that it is the back of the pig a bit better, if you have enough time that is. If not then don't worry about it, as I mentioned before it is probably just me.

I do agree with everyone else, color would definitely finish this off nicely. Simply because it does look a little bit plain and unfinished without color. Also it would look like you had put much more effort into your entry with color which would definitely give you a better shot at winning. Just filling it with a light pink on paint would boost the quality of this by a mile.

I agree completely with that, a cute caption or a light bulb with a text inside that relates to the picture. That would add a bit of humor to this cute but after a while, tedious gif, the only thing to make sure of is to confuse people, a gif should make sense even if you start watching it halfway through.

Another really small thing, you have included that it is for Snoink's pig contest in the title but you should also put the link in a spoiler at the top of the page or just at the end of this part here

Overall this was really good and I enjoyed the concept of your gif and I think you stand a really good chance in the contest. Yay! Animations! I'm learning how to do animations now, and it's really hard! So, I'm really impressed with this, even though you did say that this was a quick effort. One thing you might have considered doing was doing the front instead... the pig face could be copied and pasted on the various layers, but the body could change so that you had the impression of moving. Also, if the tail did something funky... well, that would be awesome.

Just some thoughts!

Haha, this is great. I agree with the earlier reviewers, I would suggest a caption. I was watching it for probably over a minute trying to decide if it was flapping its wings and flying, or if it was doing star-jumps. I think a caption would clear that up. Some of the entries for the competition have been very well done and funny, but this .gif is really unique. Good luck!
