Master waited for either Ventus or Leopold to come, but his stomach continued to cry as he waited. I felt him slowly weakening from both the pain all over his body and the starvation of his belly. I knew that I would have to get out of Master's body the second he becomes too weak for us to stay together, but without me Master won't see Ventus so he could get out of this impenetrable fog. Master laid down carefully on the branch, his breathing deep and his face tired.
I tried to urge him to move and guess his way around the fog, but I knew that was useless. When Master was captured, the Rebels made sure he wouldn't know where they were heading. It infuriated me for that matter, but I knew Master was no quiter when it came to plans. What mattered to me was that he planned out an escape and so far things were running smoothly. I looked into his mind to see if he was all right. He had his adopted daughter on his mind and I knew why. He wanted to come back to her, let her know he was still alive, hold her in his arms, continue to raise her, and teach her how to be royalty. Tears fell from his eyes as he waited. I could tell his heart was aching from being away from his daughter for so long. I said timidly, Please help us, Ventus. My eyes can't see through fog. I waited with uneasy paitence, hoping against fate that the Rebels didn't realize that Master escaped.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.

I heard Kali's voice ringing in my head the sound of desperation her voice. I called out to Leopold my friend Morgan is in trouble what would you like me to do. His mind was in an uproar apparently he was attempting to distract Meredith as best he could and he couldn't stay focused very well, deception and seduction were not skills he was particularly gifted in.

I looked through his mind trying to find what he wished to tell me when his thought rang clear in my mind. Make a path through which they can see in the fog, if all else fails become one with Morgan his body is weakened so just his eyes so that he may see, I would rather not end up accidy killing the king. Fly as fast as you can to the castle and tell them to send an armed battalion to help him. I knew Leopold disapproved of violence, but he knew the power that the Resistance kept hidden he was preparing for the worst.

I flew to Kali telling her of Leopold's plan, she nodded in agreement. She looked dead at me you had best be careful to not draw to much attention to our escape he won't last much longer now fly. I made a small opening in the fog releasing the smallest amount of magic I could. Of several of the older spirits I was one of the stronger ones and using Leopold to focus our joint magic so frequently I'd forgotten how powerful I was.

As I flew in front of Morgan I got the attention of one of the other bird spirits, another falcon, and gave him a message. Fly to the castle and find the bat spirit Pellentesque tell him to instruct Fenezari to make preparations the king is returning, also tell him to send a battalion of guards to protect the king on his return as well as food for our king.

I followed Ventus as closely as I could and tried to keep up. My stomach growled louder and my eyes were growing droopy. I was starting to slow down and felt Kali pushing me further, but my body could barely allow more movement. My stomach demanded to be filled and I was falling behind. I panted, "I can't go on much longer, Ventus. I can barely keep up. I think I need to rest."
Kali snapped, Don't you give up too soon, Master. You have to get to your daughter right now. You're getting there even if I have to drag your hide that rest of the way there.
I tried to keep up with Ventus, but even with Kali's pep talk I couldn't go on much longer. I tripped on a branch and fell on my face. I tried to get up, but I was too weak to move. I felt Kali jolt out of me. Because I was weak, I couldn't be merged with Kali any longer. I panted as I laid there, my very body protesting for rest and nourishment.

I opened my eyes painfully. I was sitting, strapped to a chair, in pitch darkness. I slowly looked down, but I could not even see my chest. Suddenly, my surroundings began brightening up. I moaned and blinked, trying to shield my eyes. It was soon over, though, and I could make out shapes through my blurred vision.
From what I could gather in my rather vegetative state, I was in a rather blank room, the only colour other than grey being a murky brown, presumably dirty hay. A small black object scuttled along the ground a few meters away, stopped, turned towards me for a moment, and then carried on it's way.
The next thing to hit me was the stench. The place smelled like decaying waste, and the hay was damp to the touch of my bare feet. I cursed my captors for keeping me in such horrid conditions.
But what did I expect, really? It was prison.
The final thing to dawn on me was the magnitude of the situation I was in. I was at the mercy of the Crown, and whatever information they wanted from me would be extracted in a less than pleasant manner.
A sudden grating sound drew my attention to the small, low door opposite me. An indistinguishable face peered at me through a small opening, before closing the viewing hole. I heard the click of a key in a lock.

Merry heard the news that the prisonar escaped. She ordered three groups to split up and look for him. She had a bad feeling about this.

I had received the message from the falcon that Ventus had sent, I didn't hesitate and made my move. I had gathered up an assortment of members of the crown including Deilah and had gathered a small battalion. Pellentesque and I became one and sent out a massive wave of energy to find anyone in the near by forest. I suddenly felt Morgan and knew where he was he was about to enter one of the Ancient Pathways. On the pathways no one could walk upon them if they wished to strike down another human being. I slowly nudged him on to the path he would be safe we were almost there and he would be safe until we were. I signaled for everyone to move out we would need to move fast.

I felt a nudge lead me to what looked like a pathway. I felt a warm sensation that was so familiar even a child could recognize it. The feeling of security, santuary, and comfort. It made me think of my mother. How she held me and Meredith close to her bosom as the sky was stormy enough to scare me and my little sister. Kali snuggled herself close to me, offering what comfort she could provide. I laid there, my eyes open for either Them or my rescue.
A familiar voice called, "Morgan! Hold on, my friend. We're coming."
I mumbled, "Fenezari." I tried to get up, but my body was still too weak to carry on. My eyes were slowly closing, but I fought to stay awake. As the guards came, I searched for Deliah. I wanted to see her before I could black out.
Her voice said scaredly, "Father. Father. Father."
As I was lifted carefully, I looked at Deliah. That unmistakeable short hair, those innocent eyes. I whispered, "Deliah. My beautiful, sweet Deliah." I knew I couldn't fight much longer, so I allowed the blackness to fall upon me. I knew I was coming home, home to Deliah where I belong.

Delilah:
Fenezari woke me up saying father had escaped and we were to go find him. We walked for a while and my stomach was sick. I was nervous about finding father, was he alive? Was he ok? Fenezari got a feeling and we saw him. My father was lying on the ground.
"Father. Father. Father." I repeated it over and over.
"Morgan! Hold on, my friend. We're coming." Fenezari called.
"Father. Father. Father. Father."
"Deliah. My beautiful, sweet Deliah." he said quietly before his eyes rolled back and he passed out. I wrapped my arms around him. "Daddy!" The guards began to carry him off to the castle.
I walked behind them. He was alive. He was alive! I ran to catch up to Fenezari.

He'd lied. That prisoner. He'd lied to my face and I had sat there and believed every word he'd said. Even in the maze I had continued to believe him, like the fool I was, dragging Charlotte with me around corner after corner until she'd pulled me back. Unlike me, she knew it had been a trap. Now we were stuck in this mess, the prisoner gone and probably already informing the king of our hideout.

Before we could leave, Merry called us over, her mouth set in a grim expression. "We can't stay here any longer. We need to move base tonight. Make sure you have everything you need from this base, 'cause you won't be coming back here. I've ordered a group to destroy this base whilst it's still dark so that no evidence is left. Once you've finished searching your area, come back to the East Bridge base. That will be our main point of call from now on. Do you understand?"

The three of us nodded our reply, then set off, stopping by each of our rooms before we left the base. I had few things to pick up save some small token memories of my family, each photograph and trinket placed carefully in my bag before we left.

Once we'd made our way out of the base, we looked back for the last time, each of us unwilling to leave the place that had been our home.

As I came to, I heard voices. Healers struggled vigorously to keep Deliah away from me as they attempted to heal the burns and cuts on my body. Deliah protested that she needed to be with me, to stay with me, to hold me. The bickering was starting to get on my nerves too quickly. I hissed, "Enough."
The bickering halted.
I said, "Deliah stays with me and that's final. Any objections?"
Nobody objected and the healers resumed their work nervously. Healers never liked being watched when they heal, except if the one watching was another healer. The burns disappeared, but the cuts left deep scars. That was as far as the healers could go. After they left, it was just me and Deliah. She asked, "How are you, Father?"
I answered calmly, "I'm a little better, but I can't let these scars give me away. During my captivity, They threw stones at me, punched me, and set me on a metal table only to light it and put burns on me. I had to escape after that last thing." I eyed the small pitcher of water, then grinned. "Watch this." I summoned the water to my chest. The scars on my chest closed up and healed. After this, I heard Kali chuckle.
Deliah set her head on my chest and and said calmly, "Welcome home, Father."
I smiled. After hours of torture and starvation, I've made it home.

We walked away from our home with a feeling of loss. This was one strike against the Masked Resistance. And... Well, we really hadn't had a strike against the King yet. It was hard to have hope when you watch your home burn to the ground, and with no idea about what was going to happen in the future.

I walked next to Jasmine, but she was quiet, and I really didn't want to talk to her. She had been cutting me out and now, when it was coming back to bite us, she still wouldn't trust me. There really was nothing to say. I sped up my pace and walked next to Chaos. Even if we didn't speak, his presence cleared my head and calmed me down.

I started to think of 'Charles' and his escape. I didn't think he escaped on his own. Somebody helped him. But who? We didn't know that. Why would someone try to help a normal guard escape? If they rescued him so he couldn't tell us any information, wouldn't it be easier to just kill him? And if he were just a normal guard, then why in the world did they spare his life? Maybe he wasn't just a normal guard. But then who was he? So many questions that couldn't be answered, especially when the Masked Resistance didn't even have a base.

"We have to start fighting back," I whispered to myself.

(Hope this is okay with everyone!)

Delilah:
"No!" I screamed at the healers, "No! I WILL be with him! Let me in!"
I struggled to get into the room, careful not to touch anyone.
"Enough," hissed a voice, and we all quieted.
"Deliah stays with me and that's final. Any objections?" The healers looked at the ground and I walked into the room and stood by my father. He had scars all over him. It made me furious, how dare They hurt him. The healers left quickly.
"How are you, father?" I stayed calm, my anger and fear dissolving. He was home.
"I'm a little better, but I can't let these scars give me away. During my captivity, They threw stones at me, punched me, and set me on a metal table only to light it and put burns on me. I had to escape after that last thing."
I sighed deeply and quietly. My teeth gritted and my jaw locked with anger, but father smiled.
"Watch this," he said and the water in a small pitcher lept up and flew to his chest. He was a water sorceror, too? It shocked me a little as I watched the scars on him disappear. I put my head on his chest. I felt and heard his heart beat, he was alive and home.
"Welcome home, father." I took his hand and squeezed it then told him that I'd be back. I had to go check on Rio and the Abnormals.
I walked into the cabin where the Abnormals slept. I tucked them in and whispered to them as I had everyday before. Rio was awake at the end, in my bunk. She stood up when she saw me walk torwards her. I hugged her tight.
"Hello, little sister." I whispered, careful not to wake the others. We sat on either side of the bed, both of us hugging our knees and looking at eachother.
"I'm so glad you're back." she said, "And...the king?"
"Father's home, and he's healing. They were terrible to him Rio...just terrible." She looked sad.
"He'll be alright, love. Will you be okay without me for a little while longer? I'm staying with him until he's healed." Rio nodded.
"No patrols still? They've been restless without them..." She said.
"No patrols for now. I don't want to lose anyone." She nodded and I stood up. We hugged again and I looked at her. She was so young, although not much younger than me. I wished her luck and told her I'd be back soon. I walked back to the castle and to father. I pulled a chair up next to his bed and held his hand with both of mine.

I meditated outside Morgan's door listening as he commanded that the healers leave him with his daughter. I knew that none of them could see me I was projecting an illusion making myself unseen to anyone. I had been one with Pellentesque for almost the entirety of the day I was meditating so that we could remain as one while I healed Morgan he wasn't aware as to what I was doing and neither were the healers. The healers stood little chance of being able to heal so much damage so it fell on me to do so. Delilah was at his side now though so the healing I has to do was meticulous and slow as to not disturb them. I was exhausted and Pellentesque was basically in control he spoke to me my friend you need to rest your friend will be fine your body can't take much more.

I calmly replied to his misgivings of urgency you're in control right now I'll be fine just use my magic and heal Morgan I'm about to go into restorative meditation don't worry about me. As I lay there my body slowly cycling in and out magic my mind drifted back to my youth. I remembered how mopey Morgan could be back then it was roughly two years since he had become king and it was a boring day he was still mad at me for that day My tower had just gone up so we celebrated. It was a wild party Morgan had a grand time and for the first time in a long time was happy.

I silently hoped we would do this again.

Kali

I watched as Master rested with the princess at his bedside. She had his hand in both of hers as I shrank three times my size and sat on Master's chest. I knew for a fact that there were more scars on him that only I could access. I breathed my warm breath in Master's face and felt the healing power of the Water element of which was a part of his original birth. I snaked my tail around his legs and set my wings on his shoulders, feeling myself sweat for the first time in centuries. As my sweat touched Master's skin, the sweat moved to the scars that the healers left behind. The scars healed slowly, but that was enough without disturbing Master from his rest. I released him and sat on the princess's lap.
She gasped when she saw me.
I said, Don't be afraid, princess. Only a sorceror can control me, but I can reveal myself to anyone if I want to. Your father knows that, but he never thought I could do it now after all these years. You are the first Abnormal to see me because I want you to. I knew I was life-like to the princess. I always was to Master. I was used to that.
She asked, "Who are you?"
I answered, My name is Kali, dragon spirit of Aradia. I'm controlled by your father and no one else.

Masakka Dan

My stomach twisted inside of me as I walked toward my King's door, and my eyes burned from lack of sleep. I was hardly fit to be the Captain...I bit down hard on my lip as my stomach throbbed painfully. Stress, lack of sleep, and not eating enough is doing wonders to my health, I thought sarcastically. Oh, how I wanted to see Jasmine again. I thought back to how I had kissed her--and how she had kissed me back. I wanted nothing more than to hold her in my arms again, run my hands through her silky hair and...
I shut off my thoughts with a snap. I was obviously deranged. She was my enemy, and nothing more.
I paused outside the King's door and softly knocked. I didn't want to run the risk of waking him if he was asleep.
But apparently he wasn't. "Come in, Masakka." Apparently he's expecting me...
I opened the door and stepped in, then bowed low. "My liege."
"Rise," he said calmly. His voice rasped painfully from weariness and pain; but when I looked up I saw that his eyes were the eyes of our King.
"What is the status of my kingdom?" he asked.
