Hey everybody. :)
I'm TheDementedDemon... my real name is Michael Swanson. I took interest in to writing, mainly poetry, in 3rd grade when a well renowned poet, Kenn Nesbitt, came to my school and talked to many of the grades. I kept my interest in poetry, but I only do it in moderation, now that I'm undergoing a project of writing a book for the summer. My interest in writing, however, kick-started when another renowned writer, Bruce Hale, came to my school the succeeding year. He was the writer of the Chet Gecko series. That summer, I went to the library, rented a book from the series, then locked myself in my room so I could read the book.

So tell me about you. :)

Well hello there, Demon! Or Demented, or Michael, or whatever you wish us to call you xD.

I'm Walker!

And thats cool that you found your starting inspiration from listening to a writer speak! I, personally, started writing merely because I hated how some books ended and wanted to make the ending something I enjoyed or felt would be better suited. After that, I haven't turned back!

I'm sure you'll find a whole variance of reasons for starting, but we all have the same wants and the same paths. On here, we try and better eachother in every way we can, so I'm sure you'll find as much help as you may want or need!

Any favourite writers? Favourite musicians?

If you need a review, or have questions about the site, PM me and I'll be there in an instant ^_^

Nice to meet you, Walker. :D

When it comes to music, I usually don't play favorites. I jump around here and there but right now I'm interested in anything between Acoustic Pop to Rock. Favorite writers, as far as that goes, is Bruce Hale, and the classical George Orwell.

Ah, I can definitely agree on George Orwell! Animal farm was fantastic!

And thats cool! Acoustics are generally my favourite, but anything generally alternative rock or indie is more up my alley :)

Due to Animal Farm being a mandatory assignment for me, I still found it to be an enjoyable book. I thought Napoleon was being completely brutal in that story.

Hello!

I'm Miracles/Mira/the-crazy-person-whose-caps-lock-is-having-a-seizure xD.

Anyway, welcome, I guess.

That's really interesting how you started writing when a writer talked to you. Personally, the first time our school got a writer to talked to us I hated it. But that was in about grade two, so I know better now. I started writing in about grade seven when my english teacher said that my writing was good, which caught me by surpised since my other teacher said that my writing was bad and my grammar was plain terrible. So, yeah, I started liking writing more and more from there on. Yeah, I'll stop rambling on now.

Hope to see you around.

P.S. I love your username. :)

Hello M. Swanson!
That's great, I loooovvee poetry so do share some with me :]
Is there any reason in particular that you're writing a book? Whats it about?
I wish my school had requested authors to come visit us as opposed to bongo drum people :?

Anyways- Welcome! This is by far the best writing site I've ever been on.

I read Animal Farm when I was eight-years-old... yeah, not really the best age for it now. Whenever I try to read it now, I either throw my book on the wall or I start crying. Poor Boxer!

Anyway, good to see you on! It seems like you have some really neat authors come around and inspire you. What did they say to you to help you out, do you remember?

Also, welcome to YWS! :D
