How could you tell I was new?!

Hey Everyone,

Obviously I am new. My name is Dezzy (you can call me any variation of that name). I am really bad at introductions, but I feel like a few people here already know who I am. Jessa (my fiancé) has been begging me for a while to join YWS, so here I am. I like to write poetry and short stories. I love music and play the guitar. I have tried writing lyrics -- but everything I come up with is already in a song :/ Also, I play tennis and basketball. I have four younger siblings (three brothers and a sister). If anyone could give me any tips on what to do, I would appreciate it.

I hope to write something and post it soon.

Welcome to the site, Dezzy. ^-^ Glad to see another recommended user join. Obviously Jessa persuaded you to join for a reason. The site is really great! (As I'm sure you'll hopefully soon realize yourself) If you like to write, then it is the place to be.

If you ever need any help navigating around the site, don't hesitate to ask me. I'd be glad to help you out. Or if you have any questions or would like a work of yours reviewed, feel free to contact me. You can do this via PM(Private Message) or wall comment. Either way, I'll be quick to get back to you, and help you out in the best way I can.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself here. There's a lot to love and a bunch of really cool people floating around the site. So explore the place! Make friends, review, enter contests, join in storybooks. Whatever floats your boat. Just have fun doing it. I promise you, it's not a hard request to live by.

Did you know that Ringo (from the Beatles) thought that he had made up this one song which he was really proud of and then later, when he played that song to the rest of the lads, they laughed at him because it was already a song? So yup! You're definitely not alone in that! Personally, I admire anyone who can write songs.

Welcome to YWS, Dezzy!

There's nothing specific you should do, but you do have a lot of options. You can post a piece, check out the forums, go on chat, check out the clubs, write a blog, review some pieces, among other things. You can do some of those, all of them, or none of them. :P It's up to you :)

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I have slowly been finding my way around the site. I have been so busy with wedding plans that I have not found much time to review or write anything. Leaving the country for a few days after the wedding will hopefully spark some inspiration though.

Ha thanks for asking. Jess is doing well. She is a bit stressed out with school and planning, but things will get better. Umm my life is...good. Other then everything that needs to be in order for the next few weeks, my life is stress free. Summer vacation is treating me well. And YWS is great. Everyone is so friendly. Like I said above I haven't had much time to devote to reviewing or writing.

For the last week I have had melodies and lyrics spinning around in my head, so hopefully that could mean a new song is on the way...who knows.
