My younger sister has one, I had a quick play with it when I was back home but she doesn't have any 3DS games for it at the moment. The 3d is pretty good, imo, although I can't have it on the full setting because it hurts my eyes and sets of my migraines (but then a lot of things do that :/) but I'm alright with it set middle-ish. It takes a little getting used to and you've got to make sure you look at it from the right angle.
The things that really bothered me were that a) the camera couldn't tell if I was an adult male, or a child of indeterminate gender (I am neither!) so I was somewhat offended, b) the battery life kinda sucks, and c) DS games don't look too clean, they're pretty blurry because of the changes in screen resolution. My sister it fine with it, she got a 3DS because her old lite needed so many repairs, and she says it's the sort of thing that you get used to after a while, but there was a very clear difference in picture when she compared it to my DS lite.
That said, I'll end up buying a 3DS at some point. As it stands, there aren't enough games set to come out to warrant me getting one yet; I think Zelda is the only one that appeals to me so far.
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)
Eh, I hear there are some bugs. Like you have to hold the DS at the perfect length away from you for it to work. But I may just be biased. I still have my 2nd generation DS, which I will never replace.
The kid that lives in my back yard has one and it's not as cool as everyone says. What captain.classy said is sort of true. I normally play without my glasses, holding my DS close to my face and I can't with this. Plus, the 3D effects hurt my eyes. AND IT DOESN'T WORK IN THE SUN. >.<
It's pretty cool other than that.
I am nothing but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's or maybe like pocket candy that's just a bit too sweet.
I have the original DS. We had our fun times. *nostalgic* And there's not a patch in the upper screen where it doesn't show anything. D: I would love a 3DS. But, right now, I'd rather be saving up for a new laptop + new frames (for my glasses)

I've had my DS Lite for so long while my brother's been through 3 or 4 DS's so far. xD It kinda hurts that I might end up getting the 3DS. I've heard there's a Kingdom Hearts game also coming out for the 3DS, so for all those new games that I just gotta play, I might have to get one in the end. We'll see!
And I've never got my DS to play well in the sun. The digital screens never really work out for me in the light, so you have to tell me your secret, Asminebells. D: Unless the 3D really doesn't work in the sun for some reason. That's a little weird. Solar energy interfering with digital electronics? XD
I've also contemplated buying the 3DS but for the new kingdom hearts game, not zelda. I'm not planning on ever forking over $250 though, so I'm going to be waiting for a long time.
