YWS Lingo

So, before I joined this sight, to me, internet texting vocabulary consisted of mostly just misspelled real words, but because this site is so creative and diverse, it seems to have produced a whole new set of vocabulary, which I shall attempt to document.

This would be alphabetical, but I'm lazy so I just write whichever one's come to mind XP

Phrases and Words:

WB = Welcome Back
Nao = Now
Nu = No
Clings = Clings
Glomps = Like a hug on Red Bull
<3.1415 = "Nerd Love" My love for this object/ organism / place is an infinite as Pi
Moah = More
Totes = Totally
Critter = Critiquer (Out of fashion)
Bai = Bye
Hai = hey / hi

Grammatical Changes
Changing Y to -eh E.G Meh Pickles
Adding and "H" after "Has" E.g I hash some pickles

Tastes like diabetes is so sweet, it hurts........ I'm not using YWS lingo anymore, am I? I think I've been on the net too long..........

There's also cutespeak, from cuteoverload.com's glossary, and, um...... tropespeak? Troperspeak? Whatever it's called, it means speaking in tropes.

ANYWAY. yes, pretty much every place has their own lingo. I dearly loves it.

Oh, and I never used the term "avvie" before.

I use avvie all the time. It prevents confusion with the .AVI filetype. :3

Or you could risk developing tongue ulcers and just say 'avatar'. But I suppose that could be confused with the movie.

Also, I want to ban the word "organism." I read it wrong every single blessed time, and it always confuses me.

A really long hug like this (usually involving pouncing, glomping, or flying) is frequently called a Glad-combo, after Gladius who popularized such hugs.

Also:
loff/luff= love
snugs= snuggle hugs

And if you want to include site terms...

AaE= Ask an Expert
MC= Main Character
KB= Knowledge Base
Nit-pick= picking out quotes of a work and commenting on them. Can be analysis or grammar based (grammar-based= not looked highly upon)

Finally, arcane site terms only members who've been here 2+ years use, really:

Purps= Instructors (old group of top reviewers; names of members were in purple)
Blues= Greeters (old group of people who welcomed people in the Welcome Mat; names were in light blue)

Wow, I remember being a Purp.

The Purps vs. Blues wars were epic.
