The house of the Scorpian by Nancy Farmer.

I read it when I was in like 4th or 5th grade but then I bought it because it was such a good book... and now I can get most of the lines, I actually read now. hahaha.

Manalive by G.K. Chesterton

I've never found anything by Chesterton that hasn't been worth the read.

Ah! I was listening to a sermon the other day, and they quoted him - "The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found hard and so not tried." I even recognized it (very proud of myself, quotemonger that I am :P).

I just finished Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. I swear, that man breaks half the rules of good prose writing, but it's absolutely brilliant. A must read.

I'm reading "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson. It's one of those books I always thought I had read, but never actually had.

The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.

This is definitely one worth reading.

-_- Part IV (the in-progress part) of the Chair, in which my fine if not slightly bleak Kasimov gets the living snot beaten out of him by Strazhas. Poor Shan. *head/desk* I need to keep working on it...

Ah, poor DD... I know the feeling - though I don't generally dent the desk with my head. Hit the keyboard harder than it really needs, at times... ^_~ But I've become to fond of Shan now not to flinch at the description there; more poor perhaps, than DD who has to writie it? !_!''

(And Bob is back? ^_^ I'll have to try Vonegut once I finish Chesterton - though that would be going, I think, from polar opposites...)

The Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce.

I recommend it for any young fantasy fanatic. It's pretty good.

I am back! My holiday was glorious and lovely and all that sort of stuff. I left the country with about fou books, came back with probably nearing twenty-five.

I picked up (and read) the first two Otherland books by Tad Williams: man they're good, I'd forgotten how cool the ideas are. If you're a sci-fi or fantasy person (they cover both) then you've got to check them out. Plus, they're big enough to keep the average person reading for a little while, at least :)

Still Dostoyevsky, I'm afraid. So much stuff going on that I can't seem to find time to read! *tear*

I'm reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (again), as well. We have an essay due on it Friday.

Life of Pi by Yann Martel is interesting. Read it twice. You'll pick up all kinds of things you missed the first time.

^ Okay. ^^ It's really interesting so far, even though I'm not more than like twenty pages in. Also, among the five other books I've taken out of the library to read before I go back to school (yikes!) is Farenheit 451. Do/did you like it?
